Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hitler at the Obersalzberg is a comprehensive history of Hitlers activities at the mountain community from 19231945. The study begins with legends surrounding the area long before the arrival of Hitler and his cronies. Attention is given to the physical setting, the development of the Nazi community, and the important conferences and meetings, which took place there. There is considerable discussion concerning everyday life and activities centered at the Berghof, Hitlers mountain retreat. A glimpse of the competition, which developed between Hermann Goering and Martin Bormann, became evident. Interspersed throughout the narrative are interviews by the author with Paula Hitler, Johann Langwieder, and Hans Baur, which provide interesting perceptions of the Fuehrer, Adolf Hitler.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From July to September 1916, some 23,000 Australians were killed or wounded in the Battle of Pozières. It was the first strategically important engagement by Australian soldiers on the Western Front and its casualties exceeded those of any other battle of the First World War, including Gallipoli. In this important book, Christopher Wray explores the influence of Pozières on Australian society and history, and how it is remembered today. In the opening chapters he revisits the battle and considers its aftermath, including shell shock and the psychological effects experienced by surviving soldiers. The concluding chapters examine the way in which the battle has been commemorated in literature and art, and the extent to which it has been overlooked in contemporary remembrance of the war. Generously illustrated with photographs, maps and paintings, Pozières: Echoes of a Distant Battle is essential reading for anyone interested in the First World War and Australia's post-war society.

This book was released on 2021-02-01 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Up to now, there has been no complete English-language version of the Russian folktales of A. N. Afanas’ev. This translation is based on L. G. Barag and N. V. Novikov’s edition, widely regarded as the authoritative Russian-language edition. The present edition includes commentaries to each tale as well as its international classification number. This third volume contains 305 tales, those numbered 319–579, as well as forty-five additional tales from among those denied publication by the Russian censors. The folktales of A. N. Afanas’ev represent the largest single collection of folktales in any European language and perhaps in the world. Widely regarded as the Russian Grimm, Afanas’ev collected folktales from throughout the Russian Empire in what are now regarded as the three East Slavic languages, Belarusian, Russian, and Ukrainian. In his lifetime, Afanas’ev published more than 575 tales in his most popular and best-known work, Narodnye russkie skazki. In addition to this basic collection, he prepared a volume of Russian legends, many on religious themes; a collection of mildly obscene tales, Russkie zavetnye skazki; and voluminous writings on Slavic folklife and mythology. His works were subject to the strict censorship of ecclesiastical and state authorities that lasted until the demise of the Soviet Union in the 1990s. Overwhelmingly, his particular emendations were stylistic, while those of the censors mostly concerned content.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book on grammar is designed to meet the requirements of all students, both from English and Vernacular medium backgrounds. It strictly complies with the new approach to the teaching of English Grammar. Every aspect of Grammar, starting from the Alphabet, has been dealt with, in a simple and easy way for the students to follow. Copious illustrative examples and practice exercises have been provided in the book to help students handle the topics with confidence. The grammatical structures, vocabulary and communication skills will ensure a good command or mastery over the English language. The exercises given after every topic, have been framed, keeping in mind, the problems faced by my own students. As a teacher in English, for a number of years at Don Bosco High School, Matunga, Mumbai and St. Xavier’s High School and Junior College, Virar- for the Secondary and Higher Secondary Sections, I have noticed that many students consider grammar- ‘a hard nut to crack’ – something that goes above their head. Hence, throughout this book, I have made an attempt to explain the various topics, in the simplest Sway possible by giving simple examples. Thus, all efforts have been made, to maintain the true nature of the book by keeping it, true to its title ‘English Grammar Made Easy’. The content of the book is useful not only for the students but also for the teachers and the general public- interested in acquiring- competence in English Language in an easy way. In fact, the students cannot read and study Grammar as they do with the other subjects. It has to be taught and understood and for that, the teachers have to be fully confident and sure of the Grammar topics they intend to explain. Or else, they would only be confusing the students, and as a result, the students do not take any interest in learning grammar and often, it is sidetracked. On the other hand, if the topics are clearly explained and understood, the students will definitely enjoy learning it and consider grammar, an inevitable part of learning the language. So, this book could serve as a hand-book or manual, for the teachers and the learners as well, enabling them to be familiar with the ‘rules of the language’. I would certainly be glad to hear from teachers or students or the others, using this book – in the form of comments or suggestions of any kind.

Book excerpt: As you read this book, you will discover that the "easy" life is not what GOD intended for man. Without the trials (the tests, critiques, stresses, problems, evaluations, fire, winds, waves, etc.), and the accompanying passage of time, as well as the FINAL APPROVAL OF GOD, we run the risk of becoming defective products, full of errors, legalistic, enslaved, and the discarded proud. These are "products" that the Almighty GOD has NOT APPROVED or RELEASED for HIS use. Instead, these defective and oftentimes dangerous products come from the flesh and the devil. GOD has no use for it, except to throw it into the fire.
