Book Synopsis A Grammar of Holy Mystery by : Larry Hart
Download or read book A Grammar of Holy Mystery written by Larry Hart and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-03-10 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Grammar of Holy Mystery is about Christian spirituality. It is about mysticism as a firsthand encounter with the presence of God—unfathomable, unnamable, mysterious, fulfilling. It is about classical Christianity, the way of transforming truth found in Christ, taught in Scripture, lived by saints, sages, and mystics, and passed on as a sacred trust through the centuries. Being neither liberal nor conservative, but simply Christian, it is ecumenical in spirit. For those traumatized by harsh or shallow churches, A Grammar of Holy Mystery points the way out and shows the way to a faith that renews the mind, restores the spirit, and gladdens the heart.

Book Synopsis Holy Spirit Power! Knowing the Voice, Guidance and Person of the Holy Spirit by : Paul Backholer
Download or read book Holy Spirit Power! Knowing the Voice, Guidance and Person of the Holy Spirit written by Paul Backholer and published by ByFaith Media. This book was released on 2018-01-24 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is the Holy Spirit and how can you walk in His power? Jesus walked in the power of the Holy Spirit and declared His disciples would do even greater works (Luke 4:14, John 14:12). Today, God’s power can still be released in and through Christians who will meet the Holy Spirit on His terms. In this book, the author introduces the ministry of the Holy Spirit, how His power can transform us and why we should know Him in all His fullness, as an indwelling Person. Drawing from the powerful experiences of Rees Howells, Evan Roberts and many other influential servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, the author unveils the secrets of going deeper with God, and how to grow beyond being blessed by the Holy Spirit, to be filled with the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19). Paul Backholer is a British broadcaster and the founder of ByFaith Media (www.ByFaith.org). He is the director of ByFaith TV which airs on multiple platforms around the world and is the producer of several Christian documentaries. Paul is the author of Heaven: A Journey to Paradise, How Christianity Made the Modern World, The Exodus Evidence and The Ark of the Covenant – Investigating the Ten Leading Claims. Paul studied in a British Bible college in the 1990s and has travelled to over forty nations on Christian endeavours.

Book Synopsis I Give Up Bible Study Guide by : Laura Story
Download or read book I Give Up Bible Study Guide written by Laura Story and published by HarperChristian Resources. This book was released on 2019-07-30 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recording artist and bestselling author Laura Story demonstrates the unexpected joy found when we surrender it all to God and simply give up. It's natural to want to be in control. Most of us can't easily accept the idea of giving up that control. But when your need for peace surpasses your desire to be in command of your life, God—who truly uses all things for our good—demonstrates how much we can trust him. The very act of completely surrendering our will to his can become the one act that will change your life forever. In the I Give Up Bible Study Guide (DVD/digital video sold separately), Laura uses a combination of Bible stories and personal experiences to teach you and your group what true surrender is—and what it's not: Surrender does not come naturally to any of us. Surrender is not acquiescing to an enemy who wants to dominate us. Surrender is not "My will be done!" Surrender makes it impossible for you, and the people around you, to stay the same. Though surrender sometimes flies in the face of our instincts, hopes, and dreams, it's never without benefit as God leads us into his peace that surpasses understanding. As Laura found in her own life, a surrendered life includes the surprise of a truly full and satisfying existence where trust is reasonable, reconciliation possible, and relationships can finally heal. Sessions include: What Is Surrender Anyway? God's Character Matters Giving In and Up Being Transformed The Ripple Effect of Surrender Designed for use with the I Give Up Video Study available on DVD or streaming video, sold separately.

Book Synopsis Marino Sanudo Torsello, The Book of the Secrets of the Faithful of the Cross by : Peter Lock
Download or read book Marino Sanudo Torsello, The Book of the Secrets of the Faithful of the Cross written by Peter Lock and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2016-05-06 with total page 486 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first full translation of Marino Sanudo Torsello's Secreta fidelium Crucis to be made into English. The work itself is a piece of crusading propaganda following the fall of Acre in 1291, written between 1300 and 1321, but it includes much of historical relevance along with interesting observations on the early history of Jerusalem and the Crusader Kingdom. The translation is based upon the text edited by Jacques Bongars in 1611. There is an introduction that contextualises the book, its author, his sources and his audience. The notes provide essential information to clarify internal textual references and allusions, as well as the role of Biblical references in Sanudo's grand design. The index is designed to make this detailed text usable and accessible. In this, his major work, Sanudo advocated the conquest of Egypt as the means to regain Jerusalem for the Latins and worked through his points with considerable detail alongside references to 13th-century Mediterranean history, especially involving Louis IX of France and Charles of Anjou, king of Naples. Books I and II give considerable detailed discussion of the concept, plan and costs of his proposed crusade. Book III provides an outline history of the crusades and the crusader states. It is derived from a wide-reading of other sources especially of William of Tyre, and, for events after 1184 on the Eracles, the letters of James of Vitry, and Sanudo's own experiences in the east. Throughout, the work contains a staggering amount of cartographical, ethnographical, geographical, and nautical information, as well as numerous unique insights into historical events and personalities of the late 13th century, not only in Outremer but in Western Europe.
