There was a tribulation of life, but there was also a tribulation of death. Babies who don't survive a death are not going to make it to the New World. If the deceased could not survive the calamity, they could not leave. They had to stay by their loved ones' side all this time. A green bamboo flag appeared and sent the soul away.

Book excerpt: In Megan's Followers, Megan's parents allow her to open accounts with the most popular social media companies. They don't know much about it themselves, but they had read that it was not advisable for children under thirteen to join. Since she had recently passed that age, they had no objection. Megan soon devises ways of gaining followers and influencing them through her various activities at school. She is surprised to find out that her posts are going around the world, and one 'dear old friend' contacts her to join her followers. She is over the Moon, but also discovers how easy it is to become vulnerable to predators! The Psychic Megan Series consists of twenty-three novelettes about a young girl's growing realisation that she is able to do things that none of her family can. Megan is twelve years old in the first volume. She has two seemingly insurmountable problems. Her mother is frightened of her daughter's latent abilities and not only will not help her but actively discourages her; and she can’t find a teacher to help her develop her supernatural, psychic powers. For she wants not only to know what it is possible to do and how to do it, but to what end she should put her special abilities. Megan is a good girl, so it would seem obvious that she would tend towards using her powers for good, but it is not always easy to do the right thing even if you know what that is. These stories about Megan will appeal to anyone who has an interest in psychic powers, the supernatural and the paranormal and is between the ages of ten and a hundred years old. Book Synopsis Before My Helpless Sight by : Dr Leo van Bergen
Download or read book Before My Helpless Sight written by Dr Leo van Bergen and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2014-10-28 with total page 538 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the numerous vicious conflicts that scarred the twentieth century, the horrors of the Western Front continue to exercise a particularly strong hold on the modern imagination. The unprecedented scale and mechanization of the war changed forever the way suffering and dying were perceived and challenged notions of what the nations could reasonably expect of their military. Examining experiences of the Western Front, this book looks at the life of a soldier from the moment he marched into battle until he was buried. In five chapters - Battle, Body, Mind, Aid, Death - it describes and analyzes the physical and mental hardship of the men who fought on a front that stretched from the Belgian coast to the Swiss border. Beginning with a broad description of the war it then analyzes the medical aid the Tommies, Bonhommes and Frontschweine received - or all too often did not receive - revealing how this aid was often given for military and political rather than humanitarian reasons (getting the men back to the front or munitions factory and trying to spare the state as many war-pensions as possible). It concludes with a chapter on the many ways death presented itself on or around the battlefield, and sets out in detail the problems that arise when more people are killed than can possibly be buried properly. In contrast to most books in the field this study does not focus on one single issue - such as venereal disease, plastic surgery, shell-shock or the military medical service - but takes a broad view on wounds and illnesses across both sides of the conflict. Drawing on British, French, German, Belgian and Dutch sources it shows the consequences of modern warfare on the human individuals caught up in it, and the way it influences our thinking on 'humanitarian' activities.

Book Synopsis Faces of Your Soul by : Elise Dirlam Ching
Download or read book Faces of Your Soul written by Elise Dirlam Ching and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2014-01-14 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Faces of Your Soul, Elise Dirlam Ching and Kaleo Ching combine art and archetypes, meditation and acupressure, guided imagery, journaling, and many different creative processes in a collage of healing knowledge and wisdom. The authors start by stressing the balance of complementary opposites—left brain/right brain, challenge/comfort, practicality/the sacred—as crucial to beginning the journey. Then through guided imagery, they lead readers through subconscious realms to connect with archetypal sources of inner wisdom. This process frees the creative and healing spirit, connecting explorers with the body's instinctive intelligence, which expresses itself through the creation of art. Central to this process is a detailed description of maskmaking—including how to work with a partner to mold each other's gauze mask—balanced with self-explorations of the inner experience of this event. Poetry, personal stories, photographs, and a gallery of Kaleo Ching's evocative totemic masks expand the reader's experience of this richly resonant journey to self.
