Book excerpt: In the next village, there was a crazy old woman who had died. She didn't close her eyes when she died, so how many people couldn't lift the coffin? There was a tribulation of life, but there was also a tribulation of death. Babies who don't survive a death are not going to make it to the New World. If the deceased could not survive the calamity, they could not leave. They had to stay by their loved ones' side all this time. A green bamboo flag appeared and sent the soul away.

Book excerpt: In Megan's Followers, Megan's parents allow her to open accounts with the most popular social media companies. They don't know much about it themselves, but they had read that it was not advisable for children under thirteen to join. Since she had recently passed that age, they had no objection. Megan soon devises ways of gaining followers and influencing them through her various activities at school. She is surprised to find out that her posts are going around the world, and one 'dear old friend' contacts her to join her followers. She is over the Moon, but also discovers how easy it is to become vulnerable to predators! The Psychic Megan Series consists of twenty-three novelettes about a young girl's growing realisation that she is able to do things that none of her family can. Megan is twelve years old in the first volume. She has two seemingly insurmountable problems. Her mother is frightened of her daughter's latent abilities and not only will not help her but actively discourages her; and she can’t find a teacher to help her develop her supernatural, psychic powers. For she wants not only to know what it is possible to do and how to do it, but to what end she should put her special abilities. Megan is a good girl, so it would seem obvious that she would tend towards using her powers for good, but it is not always easy to do the right thing even if you know what that is. These stories about Megan will appeal to anyone who has an interest in psychic powers, the supernatural and the paranormal and is between the ages of ten and a hundred years old. In Megan's Followers, Megan's parents allow her to open accounts with the most popular social media companies. They don't know much about it themselves, but they had read that it was not advisable for children under thirteen to join. Since she had recently passed that age, they had no objection. This book was released on 2011 with total page 605 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "As a plain record of a curious form of society which must soon be numbered with the past, the book may continue to possess an interest even when, with the progress of its knowledge, its errors shall have been corrected and its theories perhaps superseded by others which make a nearer approach to truth." Despite having been criticised later, the book at hand is an important and interesting document of its time. It provided the first complete ethnographical summary of totemism and exogamy, dwelling on its religious and social aspects. Totemism is described as a religious and social system in which people or clans regard themselves as related to certain objects. Exogamy, which is often found in conjunction with totemism, is represented as a system which only allows marriage outside of a specific group. On the whole, Frazer's work includes the origins as well as an ethnographical survey of totemism and exogamy in Australian Aboriginal tribes. Sir James George Frazer was a Scottish social anthropologist who contributed mainly to the studies of mythology and comparative religion and was the first to detail the relations between myths and rituals. His work Totemism and Exogamy is also frequently cited by Sigmund Freud in his own study Totem and Taboo.

One is favoured by the people, one is favoured by the Silent Sisters and one is favoured by her father, but who will be favoured by the gods? The gods will mark their choice with raven hair, but as the days turn into weeks without a new queen, speculation and suspicion grows. The youngest daughter, Meg raised to put her duty first, has determined the gods will make the right decision. But Rocfeld is not what it was. The harder Meg tries to help her kingdom, the more dangerous her world becomes. Her eldest sister makes decisions as though she is already queen. Enemies hide in the shadows whispering of magic and death, and her allies may not be as they appear. If you like epic battles, vengeful gods and determined princesses, then you will love Georgina Makalani’s sword and sorcery series.
