Book Synopsis Smart Sassy Animals by : Jenny Campbell
Download or read book Smart Sassy Animals written by Jenny Campbell and published by Smarter than Jack. This book was released on 2006-05 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This delightful addition to the Smarter Than Jack series features a collection of animal escapades from around the world showcasing how audacious our furry and feathered friends can be. An Airedale terrier drags his embarrassed owner into a museum, and manages to get her a private tour. A parrot takes surprising revenge on unsuspecting family members. A canny calf makes a bid for freedom using his tongue. While keeping their people on guard, these creatures also take on their peers, as in the case of the determined ewe whose authoritative stamp frightens two pit bulls away from her lambs, or the Dachshund who figures out a way to trick her canine friends out of their food night after night. These 89 reader-submitted tales give first-hand accounts of just how nervy, impish, and clever our nonhuman companions can be. Proceeds from Sassy Animals will help humane societies across the United States in their admirable quest to improve animal welfare.

Book Synopsis How to Fall In Love with an Animal by : Barbara Gail Barker
Download or read book How to Fall In Love with an Animal written by Barbara Gail Barker and published by Author House. This book was released on 2014-08-29 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One evening while lying on our sofa watching the news on our television, the story was broadcasted describing the torture of various animals. It made me sick. From that point on, I decided to sit down and write this book, "How to Fall in Love with an Animal." Without going into great detail, I felt that it was necessary to be able to share my families' personal experiences, even though some of them were very painful, but there are some that ended in a happy ending. My story is in regards to our happy animals alongside stories that are sickening and disturbing, from individuals who do not value the life of an animal. There is always someone to blame for this pain. We as human beings are more than capable of being able to love an animal. As a matter of fact, this book will help you believe that you can make your life more cheerful and comfortable when adopting an animal. I realize that in the world today there is so much hate and evilness that follows, and there is very little that I can do besides making monthly donations that will help aid in the rescue of thousands of neglected animals. I wish with all my heart that I could do more, and I hope by writing this book that it would inspire you and help you become a better person. The love we have for our animals happens to be displayed throughout my book. I hope this book will touch a soft place in your heart. Remember, animal life is not over until we decide it's not worth hanging on to. We all must keep remembering that we are all children of God, whether it be human beings or animals.

Download or read book Animals and Ourselves written by Kathy Merlock Jackson and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2020-09-25 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The relationship between humans and animals has always been strong, symbiotic and complicated. Animals, real and fictional, have been a mainstay in the arts and entertainment, figuring prominently in literature, film, television, social media, and live performances. Increasingly, though, people are anthropomorphizing animals, assigning them humanoid roles, tasks and identities. At the same time, humans, such as members of the furry culture or college mascots, find pleasure in adopting animal identities and characteristics. This book is the first of its kind to explore these growing phenomena across media. The contributors to this collection represent various disciplines, to include the arts, humanities, social sciences, and healthcare. Their essays demonstrate the various ways that human and animal lives are intertwined and constantly evolving.
