Book Synopsis HVAC System by : Mohsen Sheikholeslami Kandelousi
Download or read book HVAC System written by Mohsen Sheikholeslami Kandelousi and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2018-11-14 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, various aspects of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems are investigated. HVAC systems are milestones of building mechanical systems that provide thermal comfort for occupants accompanied with indoor air quality. HVAC systems can be classified into central and local systems according to multiple zones, location, and distribution. Primary HVAC equipment includes heating equipment, ventilation equipment, and cooling or air-conditioning equipment. Central HVAC systems are located away from buildings in a central equipment room and deliver the conditioned air by a delivery ductwork system. Central HVAC systems contain all-air, air-water, or all-water systems. Two systems should be considered as central such as heating and cooling panels and water-source heat pumps.

Book Synopsis HVAC - Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Systems by : A. Bhatia
Download or read book HVAC - Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Systems written by A. Bhatia and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2014-12-06 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: VRF (Variable refrigerant flow) is an air-condition system configuration where there is one outdoor condensing unit and multiple indoor units. The term variable refrigerant flow (VRF) refers to the ability of the system to control the amount of refrigerant flowing to the multiple evaporators (indoor units), enabling the use of many evaporators of differing capacities and configurations connected to single condensing unit. The arrangement provides an individualized comfort control, and simultaneous heating and cooling in different zones. Currently widely applied in large buildings especially in Japan and Europe, these systems are just starting to be introduced in the U.S. The VRF technology/system was developed and designed by Daikin Industries, Japan who named and protected the term variable refrigerant volume (VRV) system so other manufacturers use the term VRF "variable refrigerant flow". In essence both are same. With a higher efficiency and increased controllability, the VRF system can help achieve a sustainable design. Unfortunately, the design of VRF systems is more complicated and requires additional work compared to designing a conventional direct expansion (DX) system. This 3 -hour quick book provides an overview of VRF system technology. Emphasis is placed on the control principles, terminology, basic components, advantages and design limitations. This course is aimed at the personnel who have some limited background in the air conditioning field and is suitable for mechanical, electrical, controls and HVAC engineers, architects, building designers, contractors, estimators, energy auditors and facility managers. The course includes a multiple-choice quiz consisting of fifteen (15) questions at the end. Learning ObjectiveAt the conclusion of this course, the reader will: * Understand the difference between multi-split air conditioning system and VRF systems;* Understand the operating principle of direct expansion split and VRF system;* Understand the concept of thermal zone;* Understand how VRF with heat recovery are different from ordinary heat pump systems;* Understand the operation of thermostatic expansion valve (TXV) and electronic expansion valve (EEV);* Understand the influence of building characteristics and load profile on selection of VRF system;* Learn the advantages and application of VRF systems;* Understand the design limitations and challenges in design of VRF systems.

This book was released on 2014-07-01 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) equipment is only as good as the installation. Studies show that the majority of HVACR equipment is not installed to manufacturer specifications, costing the consumer more money. * 68% of all air conditioning systems are improperly charged. * 70% of all systems have improper airflow. * 91% of systems remain untested for combustion safety and efficiency! The System Performance training manual is broken into four sections. Each section covers the techniques and procedures required for a technician to maximize the energy efficiency of HVAC systems. 1. Airflow: Covers the properties of air, airflow measuring tools, CFM calculations/requirements, blower performance, and sensible heat ratios. 2.Critical Charging: Reviews the three charging methods by weight, system superheat, and condenser subcooling. It gives examples of calculating the total charge based on line sizes and provides an easy method to check whether a system is operating to rated capacity. 3.Psychrometrics: Covers the parts of a psychrometric chart and calculating the thermodynamic properties of air. Also, this section demonstrates using wet and dry bulb temperatures to plot air conditions being heated or cooled which enables the technician to obtain a systems effect on sensible and latent building load. 4.Combustion Analysis: This section reviews the basic combustion process and the factors that affect heating efficiency. Proper methods for furnace setting of airflow, adjustment and testing fuel pressure, and flue gas venting.

Book Synopsis HVAC Principles and Systems by : Dr. Ilango Sivaraman
Download or read book HVAC Principles and Systems written by Dr. Ilango Sivaraman and published by Dr Ilango Sivaraman. This book was released on 2019-07-16 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As Humans’ need for comfort living takes priority, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems (HVAC)would assume more importance and priority – The number and percentage of people opting, creating and living in conditioned spaces might also serve as an index for living standards. In my search for understanding the different types of styles and configurations of HVAC systems - I finally realized that I could understand the different executions only if I work with a HVAC company. This somehow materialized – I started working for Superior air- a HVAC subcontractor engaged in providing, installing HVAC systems in San Diego City in California. My learning started with studying their installations, visiting job sites and looking at construction and approved drawings. I also had the opportunity to interact with construction supervisors, experts in HVAC systems, and construction workers. The installations I visited are mostly in commercial / office buildings and involved almost all the types mentioned in the book. To facilitate ease of understanding, the book includes maximum possible images of the systems/ lay outs. I will be extremely thankful to the readers if they could give me feedback comments and any other information/images that can be included for regular updates.
