The words of each poem acts as a paintbrush that illustrates pictures of love and romance between two people whose pieces never seem to fit despite the place and time. It speaks to the pulling and tugging of different worlds that leaves the characters lost and lonely as they continuously yearn for the missing puzzle pieces they desperately need to be complete. The poems that thread more on the fantasy genre, is about magical worlds and the depths of the writers imagination. She takes you to places where creatures of the night come alive. Its definitely a world where life is more than ordinary; its extraordinary and thrilling. Samantha hopes to give her readers a free ticket into her imagination, where she takes you from your ordinary reality to this new and fascinating world. You will find yourself grasping at every word as she always finds a way to pull you in and then let you go wanting more.

Book excerpt: As we reach the later years of life, I am sure all of us have experienced the thought, If I could do it over again. You know the feeling ... if only I had ... This realization toward the end of our lives, when we get a clear look at what our life has been, or could have been, with different decisions. The crystal ball shows us only the road behind with 20/20 vision. As is certainly my case. I will recite my life in the first person, narrated as it actually happened. In the ensuing words and story, I will lay out the road my life has taken. It had sadness, happiness, disappointments, exhilarations, success, and failure. Plainly speaking ... the ups and downs most lives have, although mine have been more varied, with touches of success and notoriety, than most ... It has taken me from an impoverished family of a single mother and five children in the depths of the Great Depression of the ’30s in Oklahoma. This single mother raised three to serve in the military during WWII, two to go to the University of Oklahoma, one to have some success as an actor in Hollywood in television and movies.

Book excerpt: Elected in 1960 as the 35th President of the USA, John Fitzgerald Kennedy remains to this day the office’s youngest incumbent and he was its first Roman Catholic. His term in office was short, but arguably no US President has inspired more people around the globe than JFK. Even today, for generations born decades after his death, President Kennedy’s legacy has an enduring appeal. This insightful book contains specially commissioned pieces by a range of respected academic and political figures, including former Obama speechwriter, Cody Kennan, the President of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights organisation, Kerry Kennedy, and former senior adviser to Bernie Sanders, Tad Devine. With the presidency of Joe Biden seeing a renewed focus on broader themes within Irish, American and global politics, From Whence I Came is a fascinating and timely collection that offers a fresh perspective on the Kennedy legacy and the politics of Ireland and the United States.
Book Synopsis From Whence They Came: Origins of the Missionary Baptists in Southwest Georgia, 1865-1900 by : Warren C. Hope
Download or read book From Whence They Came: Origins of the Missionary Baptists in Southwest Georgia, 1865-1900 written by Warren C. Hope and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-08-02 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The spiritual realm has been the resort of countless Blacks during their sojourn in America. Black Missionary Baptists history blossomed in Reconstruction and matured in Jim Crow Southern society. However, research on Black Baptists at the regional and local levels has been largely neglected. In obscurity are pioneers who blazed a trail of faith in God and set in motion what Carter G. Woodson and others have called the Negro Church. What began many years ago as their religious experience lives on today, but the stories of their time have not been told. Because religion has been a significant influence on Black people it is important to reconstruct and preserve local and regional religious history. Knowledge of the past is vital to understanding the present. William Montgomery, Under Their Own Vine And Fig Tree: The African American Church in the South, 1865-1900, asserted that this time frame deserved more scholarly attention. Southwest Georgia is fertile ground for Black religious history. Not since W. E. B. Du Bois The Black Church, has there been a focus on Blacks and religion in the region. This book resurrects from invisibilitys custody Blacks embrace of Christianity in local and regional settings. Its contents explore denomination identity formation and religion as a means of uplift and advancement in the microcosm of Southwest Georgia. Through it all, Black Baptist ministers were pivotal actors in the religious drama. Although myths and stereotypes about Black ministers of the past abound, they, nevertheless, led the way down freedom road. This book tells of Black preachers of the past, their efforts to uplift and advance the race, and reveals the depth of their creativity, that was repeatedly demonstrated in the founding of local churches and associations that are vibrant today.

In Money, renowned economist John Kenneth Galbraith cuts through the confusions surrounding the subject to present a compelling and accessible account of a topic that affects us all. He tells the fascinating story of money, the key factors that shaped its development, and the lessons that can be learned from its history. He describes the creation and evolution of monetary systems and explains how finance, credit, and banks work in the global economy.
