Book Synopsis Multi-Agent-Based Simulation XI by : Tibor Bosse
Download or read book Multi-Agent-Based Simulation XI written by Tibor Bosse and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-01-14 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume contains a selection of the papers presented at the 11th International Workshop on Multi-Agent-Based Simulation (MABS 2010), a workshop co-located with the 9th International Joint Conference on Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems (AAMAS 2010), which was held on May 10-14, 2010 in Toronto, Canada. The 11 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 26 submissions. The workshop has been an important source of inspiration for the body of knowledge that has been produced in the field of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS). As illustrated by this volume, the workshop continues to bring together researchers interested in MAS engineering with researchers focused on finding efficient ways to model complex social systems in social, economic and organizational areas. In all these areas, agent theories, metaphors, models, analyses, experimental designs, empirical studies, and methodological principles all converge into simulation as a way of achieving explanations and predictions, exploring and testing hypotheses, and producing better designs and systems.

This book was released on 2023-07-01 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to the Proceedings of the 11th Annual GIFT User Symposium! This year we are celebrating 11 years of GIFT Symposiums and have accepted 15 papers for publication. All of the presentations that occurred at GIFTSym11, and the papers in this volume show the versatility of the Generalized Intelligent Framework for Tutoring (GIFT), and the work that is being done with GIFT. GIFT is an open-source intelligent tutoring system (ITS) architecture that is freely available online at GIFTtutoring.org. There are both Cloud and Downloadable version of GIFT. GIFT has been developed with multiple goals in mind including supporting ITS research, and simplified creation of ITSs and Adaptive Instructional Systems (AISs). Our fantastic team, and our program committee did a great job supporting the development of GIFTSym11, reviewing papers, and assisting with the facilitation of the event this year. We want to recognize them for their efforts: • Benjamin Goldberg • Gregory Goodwin • Michele Myers • Alexandra Lutz • Randall Spain • Lisa N. Townsend We were very pleased to have GIFTSym11 return to being an in-person event this year! Additionally, this was our first year offering a hybrid option for attendees. We are very happy that both modalities were well attended!

Book Synopsis Discrete Event Modeling and Simulation Technologies by : Francois E. Cellier
Download or read book Discrete Event Modeling and Simulation Technologies written by Francois E. Cellier and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2001-06-21 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the 1990s the computing industry has witnessed many advances in mobile and enterprise computing. Many of these advances have been made possible by developments in the areas such as modeling, simulation, and artificial intelligence. Within the different areas of enterprise computing - such as manufacturing, health organisation, and commerce - the need for a disciplined, multifaceted, and unified approach to modeling and simulation has become essential. This new book provides a forum for scientists, academics, and professionals to present their latest research findings from the various fields: artificial intelligence, collaborative/distributed computing, modeling, and simulation.

Book Synopsis Discrete-Event Modeling and Simulation by : Gabriel A. Wainer
Download or read book Discrete-Event Modeling and Simulation written by Gabriel A. Wainer and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-09-03 with total page 520 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Collecting the work of the foremost scientists in the field, Discrete-Event Modeling and Simulation: Theory and Applications presents the state of the art in modeling discrete-event systems using the discrete-event system specification (DEVS) approach. It introduces the latest advances, recent extensions of formal techniques, and real-world examples of various applications. The book covers many topics that pertain to several layers of the modeling and simulation architecture. It discusses DEVS model development support and the interaction of DEVS with other methodologies. It describes different forms of simulation supported by DEVS, the use of real-time DEVS simulation, the relationship between DEVS and graph transformation, the influence of DEVS variants on simulation performance, and interoperability and composability with emphasis on DEVS standardization. The text also examines extensions to DEVS, new formalisms, and abstractions of DEVS models as well as the theory and analysis behind real-world system identification and control. To support the generation and search of optimal models of a system, a framework is developed based on the system entity structure and its transformation to DEVS simulation models. In addition, the book explores numerous interesting examples that illustrate the use of DEVS to build successful applications, including optical network-on-chip, construction/building design, process control, workflow systems, and environmental models. A one-stop resource on advances in DEVS theory, applications, and methodology, this volume offers a sampling of the best research in the area, a broad picture of the DEVS landscape, and trend-setting applications enabled by the DEVS approach. It provides the basis for future research discoveries and encourages the development of new applications.
