High commitment and optimistic perspectives from countries are needed to prepare themselves in facing all aspects of the global challenges. Aspects of global challenges for these countries include the economic, social, cultural, political, legal, educational, technological and security defense aspects. The ability of countries to face global challenges in several aspects is also a benchmark for countries to be able to compete in a global level. Local wisdom owned by these countries can also be used as a basis for strengthening the country in order to become the country’s competitiveness to participate in competition at the global level. Tidar International Conference (TIC) proceeding has been published. This conference has brought many academics, researchers, college students, and practitioners who are sharing their progressive thougth about local wisdom in facing global challenges. The theme of TIC was “Advancing Local Wisdom Towards Global Megatrends”, with various sub-themes including: Bureaucracy Roles in Accelerating the Creative Economy, Marginalized Societies, Ethical Issues in Digital Era, Communication of Urban Society, Empowerment and Digital Activism, Indigenous Public Administration, When Millennials Take Over: Preparing for Optimistic Future of Public Service Leaders, Collaborative Governance Towards Global Megatrends, Strategic Disaster Management, Tourism Policy and Management, Artificial Intelligence and Future of Government, Developing Participatory and Responsive Legal Policy, Omnibus Law: the Opportunities and Challenges of Simplifying Legal Product, Legal Aspect on Digital and Creative Economy Era, and Legal Protection of Vulnerable Group and Disabilities. Book excerpt: “Green gold” or “Poor Man’s Timber” are commonly used terms for bamboo that is a valuable and renewable resource of the world, and has always been an elemental part of human beings in terms of social and economic value. Bamboo is considered a multipurpose plant and has a prolonged history as an adaptable and extensively used renewable resource in conventional and commercial applications. Therefore, the annual demands for bamboos have already out-crossed the annual yields across the world. And the current scenario has forced scientists to pay more attention to the utilization of biotechnological tools for better understanding and improving bamboos. The book provides an overview of the different biotechnological approaches to advance bamboo research and better utilization of bamboo resources for human beings. Various applications of biological techniques in relation to bamboo have been discussed in details, for example, plant tissue culture techniques, somatic embryogenesis, germplasm conservation techniques, use of the molecular markers, transcriptomics, polymorphism, and phylogenetic relations in bamboo. It also addresses the novel industrial applications of bamboo in structural, food, and pharmaceuticals along with traditional uses. The aggregated information in this book demonstrates the way for the improved and sustainable practice of bamboos to fulfill the future needs of the world. This book is intended for use in both the industry and academia

Book excerpt: This book explores the specific role that glazing technologies play within the world of smart architecture as important components of contemporary and future sustainable architectural and technological research. Smart Architecture begins with a definition of the concept of “smart” in architecture and examines how innovative technologies and materials have shaped buildings over the years. The author then provides a supporting database of contemporary smart architecture—mapping adopted strategies, recognizing common patterns, and evaluating current and future trends in the context of smart building envelopes, energy efficiency, and the development of high-potential innovative building components. The book proceeds with a focus on the specific role that glazing technologies play in this framework and provides a systematic methodology to quantify options for the effective integration of transparent building components within advanced and innovative building envelope systems.

This book was released on 2023-10-31 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Methane is a strong climate-active gas, the concentration of which is rapidly increasing in the atmosphere. Vast methane reservoirs are hosted in seafloor sediments, both dissolved in pore fluids and trapped in gas hydrate. Cold seeps discharge significant amounts of this methane into the ocean. The rate of seabed methane discharge could be orders of magnitude higher than current estimates, creating considerable uncertainty. The extent of methane transfer from the seafloor to the water column and ultimately to the atmosphere is also uncertain. The seepage of methane and other hydrocarbons drives complex biogeochemical processes in marine sediments and the overlying water column. Seeps support chemosynthesis-based communities and impact the chemistry of the water column. Seeps may also play a critical role in ocean acidification and deoxygenation and can be geohazards, as well as a potential energy resource. Unraveling the complex and dynamic interactions and processes at marine seeps is crucial for our understanding of element cycling in the geo- and hydrosphere.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hemostasis Management of the Pediatric Surgical Patient provides knowledge on the emerging area of pediatric hemostasis and its management. It discusses aspects of perioperative blood management in the pediatric population, including how to accurately estimate and monitor bleeding and determine optimal treatment regimens for bleeding in pediatric surgical patients. It also provides information on the implementation of intraoperative blood conservation strategies, goal-directed transfusion therapy, and postoperative estimation of bleeding and thrombotic risks. This book is a valuable resource to pediatric practitioners and researchers who need comprehensive information on pediatric hematology, from basic physiology to pre-, intra- and postoperative care of pediatric patients. The coagulation system of children evolves with age as evidenced by marked physiological differences in the concentration of hemostatic proteins between children of different age groups and adults. Consequently, there are distinct differences in hemostatic management between adult and pediatric patients. Covers essential concepts in hemostasis, indicating instances where pediatric and adult data conflict, along with foundational information on disorders of hemostasis in children and blood bank management for pediatric patients Concisely covers specifics of perioperative hemostatic management in neonates and children, including bedside monitoring of coagulation and goal-directed treatment of coagulopathy Discusses hemostatic management in the entire perioperative period, from preoperative assessment until discharge from the hospital
