Determination of the pressure distribution function in the lubricant layer is resolved to the joint solution of a Reynolds equation containing a term to take into account the porosity of the bearing and a Laplace equation describing the pressure distribution within the body of the bearing itself. Numerical values for the nondimensional bearing capacity are assigned.
