Book Synopsis Reformation, Revolution, Renovation by : Lyke de Vries
Download or read book Reformation, Revolution, Renovation written by Lyke de Vries and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-12-13 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the centre of the Rosicrucian manifestos was a call for ‘general reformation’. In Reformation, Revolution, Renovation, the first book-length study of this topic, Lyke de Vries demonstrates the unique position of the Rosicrucian call for reform in the transformative context of the early seventeenth century. The manifestos, commonly interpreted as either Lutheran or esoteric, are here portrayed as revolutionary mission statements which broke dramatically with Luther’s reform ideals. Their call for reform instead resembles a variety of late medieval and early modern dissenting traditions as well as the heterodox movement of Paracelsianism. Emphasising the universal character of the Rosicrucian proposal for change, this new genealogy of the core idea sheds fresh light on the vexed question of the manifestos’ authorship and helps explain their tumultuous reception by both those who welcomed and those who deplored them.

Great examples of existing building upgrades are examined, illustrating how to do sustainable renovations, along with current design approaches for radically improving the functionality of existing prewar, postwar, and late modern buildings. Sustainable Renovation saves its key focus for institutional and commercial buildings, but discusses the challenges they pose within a global scope that encompasses all building practices. Some of the discussions in this book include: The significance of energy and resource demands by the building sector and the urgency of reducing loads in existing buildings Management, design, and construction approaches to achieve major modernization in occupied buildings International case studies that focus on methods and benefits of successful sustainable transformations of existing building performance Repurposing buildings to preserve style and add performance remains a work in progress as designers and builders discover new methods for improving sustainable practices and standards. Book Synopsis Renovation Project by : Antwan Phelps
Download or read book Renovation Project written by Antwan Phelps and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-02-09 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world as we know it is full of transgression. People travel in many directions to cope with the difficulties behind the obstacles in their lives. In the end, the satisfaction they intended on receiving is lost in the wind. These obstacles are unavoidable, but how we push through them can paint the picture of our future. The Renovation Project introduces a formula that the soul needs to solve many problems that everyday obstacles bring. Gentrification is the key to letting go of all things that have been a hindrance to us and those around us. In this book, I give an example of a torn-down home, why renovation would be best, how renovation is possible, and how to maintain our renovated homes. In this case, our home is our souls. Enjoy! The Renovation Project has a scoop of both developmental psychology and spiritual awareness for individuals seeking guidance and wisdom.
Book Synopsis Sanctification Renovation by : Andrew Christopher Carter
Download or read book Sanctification Renovation written by Andrew Christopher Carter and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2016-01-15 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sanctification Renovation was inspired by my own journey through the Bible. I have considered myself a Christian for many years, and approximately five years ago, I decided I should know what the Holy Book says. Thus, I read my New International “Student” Version of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. I did not understand every word, story or situation, nor could I pronounce all the names, but I did manage to get a good general sense of the Word of God. From my studies, I discovered how God has been reaching out to His people from day one. He has used and continues to use many ways to display His authority, power, and grace. The fundamental principles of the Bible are timeless and transforming. No other book can compare to the Bible and no other being can compare to God, His Word, His Spirit, and His Son. The Christian experience is filled with ups and downs but how glorious to know He will ultimately prevail. Good will triumph evil! My challenge to anyone who reads this is to test your beliefs and examine what you live for. What would you be willing to die for? Ask deep questions—test your limits, get out of your comfort zone, and open your mind. If you are already a believer in Jesus Christ, I would challenge you to find your unique way to honor your faith and spread Godly characteristics. If you want to know more about the King of Kings, maybe you should pick up a Bible—it could change your life, death, and eternal fate.
