Book Synopsis The Permanent Piece of the Puzzle by : Kathryn Nard

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christine, five years ago, lost her husband, Rob, suddenly in a car wreck. She felt like their puzzle of life had fallen off the table, and all the pieces were scattered. Five years after her husband's death, she has picked up the pieces and started putting the pieces back in her puzzle. Some pieces were the same, and some pieces didn't fit. The one thing that did remain the same was the border pieces that were God. His pieces never change, even though your picture of the puzzle does. Their best friends, Tracie and Russ, were there for her in her loss. Now Tracie has passed on, and she is there for Russ, helping him find his pieces of his new puzzle of life. In her effort to help him, difficulties arise, and her life takes a new turn. "On February 16, 2015, I left my husband of twenty-three years at the rehab to go take care of our elderly cat at our house for several hours. While I was gone I received a call from the rehab that he had quit breathing. I rushed back to the rehab, and when I arrived, I was met at the door by a rehab worker saying that he had passed away. I had just talked to him about making coming-home plans, and now I was making funeral plans. I am a writer, so in my lonely hours at night, I turned to my pen and paper and wrote down my feelings. Out of my writings came a book called Peeling the Onion of Grief. It is a collection of short writings and poems of my journey after losing my husband. These writings are about my journey I experienced from the time of my husband's death up to the present date. Last summer of 2017, God brought to me, the fictional story Permanent Piece of the Puzzle. I used several of my writings in the story by my characters. The emotions are real because I have personally walked through the grief and it was these writings that God instilled in my heart during the journey that helped me down this road. These writings can be found in full content after the story. It is my prayer that my words will encourage others that are going down the same road that I walked down."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Billeace Bloom was once an atheist driven by toxic fears to learn if God was real and to find Him if possible. As a result of that search, her life now provides credible evidence that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. In a fascinating autobiography, Billeace begins by revealing how her views of Christianity as a mundane existence fueled her internal struggle to either remain an atheist or release her entire life to God. After detailing how the Lord told her there is no room in the abundant life for boredom, Billeace discloses how she never dreamed how true those words would become when she surrendered her will for His will. As she describes her journey to the truth, Billeace becomes whole when she fills in each piece of her spiritual puzzle. She reminds us that with God as our constant companion, life overflows with miracles, transformations, lessons, laughter, mysteries to solve, and victories. Missing Pieces of the Puzzle is the true story of a former atheist who found the reality of God, experienced Him in remarkable ways, and affirmed the Bible is God’s own words that can dramatically change lives.

Book excerpt: Good stories can help us forget the project that’s due or that looming doctor’s appointment. They can transport us to a place of laughter, wonder, and amazement. This book is designed to do just that while also pointing the way to God's word and ultimately to Christ. Melinda Rogers, a faithful servant of the Lord, shares a collection of short stories that entertain and inspire. Some of the wisdom she shares includes: • If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, then God is your loving, heavenly father. Come to him with your pain. Come to him with your problems. Wait and see. • Let’s refuse to hide and slink into our holes. Let’s go to church. Let’s find community. We can help others as they help us. • God made each of us so very different. We each have our strengths, and we each have our weaknesses. We are happiest when we avoid comparison and can rejoice in other’s strengths. Stories that Preach is not a Bible study, but simply a book designed provoke thoughts beyond the stressful ones that usually mark our days.
