Before Jack can figure out how to help them, the Ghost Mother takes possession of his real mother’s body. It will take all his resources, and his mother’s as well, to fight off the Ghost Mother and save the ghost children from a horrible fate.

Book excerpt: Young cats are on the hunt for a mouse named Sleepy in Let’s Get Sleepy!, an energetic picture book from New York Times-bestselling author and illustrator Tony Cliff. These cats are on an adventure to find that darn mouse named Sleepy. But Sleepy is a sneaky mouse—he’s hard to find. The cats will have to look everywhere: all over town, out by the beach, up in space, and even back in time with the dinosaurs! Can the cats catch that mouse? Even if they don’t, at the end of the day, they may just get "sleepy" after all. While seek-and-find elements are at work in the adorable artwork, the rhyming text reminds readers that the journey is more important than the destination—and that the most valuable treasure is a day richly lived with friends. Book excerpt: Ten years ago, the massacre known as Fools’ Night claimed the lives of Batman, The Joker, Nightwing, and Commissioner Gordon…and sent Selina Kyle, the Catwoman, to prison. A decade later, Gotham has grown up-it’s put away costumed heroism and villainy as childish things. The new Gotham is cleaner, safer…and a lot less free, under the watchful eye of Mayor Harvey Dent and his Batcops. It’s into this new city that Selina Kyle returns, a changed woman…with her mind on that one last big score: the secrets hidden inside the Batcave! She doesn’t need the money-she just needs to know…who is “Orpheus”? Visionary creator Cliff Chiang (Wonder Woman, Paper Girls) writes, draws, colors, and letters the story of a world without Batman, where one woman’s wounds threaten to tear apart an entire city! It’s an unmissable artistic statement that will change the way you see Gotham’s heroes and villains forever!

A famous geisha herself, Okichi-mago’s voyage to Newport is a great diplomatic affair—and it will end in tragedy. In a chilling echo of her ancestor’s death, Okichi-mago falls from one of Newport’s famous cliffs. But Hollywood icon Charlotte Graham can’t believe that the refined beauty would take her own life, so she sets out to find the killer. When the rich and famous tangle with murder, there’s no sleuth more suitable to working the case than the glamorous Charlotte Graham. Book Synopsis In the Cockpit with Cliff Robertson by : Di Freeze
Download or read book In the Cockpit with Cliff Robertson written by Di Freeze and published by . This book was released on 2013-07-16 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the Cockpit with Cliff Robertson is the third volume in the Passion for Flight series. These short biographies (20,000 words or less) tell the stories of notable pilots who inspire young and old alike to take to the skies. Cliff Robertson appeared in more than one hundred roles in his career as an actor, including a young John F. Kennedy in "PT 109," his Academy Award winning performance in "Charly," astronaut Buzz Aldrin in the autobiographic "Return to Earth," Henry Ford in "The Man and the Machine," and most recently, Uncle Ben from "Spider-Man." Cliff always felt more comfortable in a plane than in Hollywood. His fascination for aviation began as a child. He accrued several thousand hours in the cockpit and held single-engine land and sea, multiengine, instrument and commercial licenses, as well as balloon, gliding and seaplane ratings. Over his lifetime he owned a variety of planes, including a Beech Baron 58, Messerschmitt Me 108, Stampe SV4, three Tiger Moths and a Spitfire Mk.IX. He gave others the opportunity he had as a youth when he became involved with the Experimental Aircraft Association. Within EAA, he founded the Cliff Robertson Work Experience, helped launch EAA's Young Eagles program in 1992, and served as its first national honorary chairman. At EAA AirVenture 2002, he was presented with the inaugural Key to the City Award, created by EAA and the city of Oshkosh, to honor distinguished personalities for significant contributions to the promotion and support of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and the aviation community. Di Freeze interviewed the Emmy and Academy Award winning actor for this short biography prior to his death. He reviewed and approved this approximately 5,000-word bio. This is not meant to be a comprehensive history of Cliff Robertson's life, but it contains the major milestones in his acting career and aviation history.
