All that started by the tragic event of his birth and revealed by a near death, and ever since, he had never been alone. Sequential events started to occur in two cities, Dubai and Abu Dhabi, escalating into chaos. At that point, he finds himself in an enigma he's not aware of the cause. Using his miraculous gift, which gives him knowledge and guards him, he will be placed in that chaos to try and figure out the truth, and for that, he is being marked. In these perilous times, he can only hope for a miracle other than the one he has.

This book was released on 2018-01-25 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers is one of the most insidious social injustices in the developed world. It is a significant factor in the growing inequality of our societies and persists across time and nations. For this reason, narrowing the gap is a top priority for governments and policymakers, and an issue that all schools must tackle. Written by a leading expert in the field of inclusion, Narrowing the Attainment Gap is designed to support school leaders in understanding and reducing the attainment gap in the context of their setting. Drawing on research and his own extensive experience in leading a team that has worked with over 1,000 schools, Daniel Sobel examines the real issues behind the attainment gap and the barriers schools face when trying to narrow it. The book provides a unique approach with hands-on, practical guidance to enable every school leader to develop their own bespoke solutions to meet the needs of their community. Case studies and examples illustrate how these interventions can be put into practice and the impact they can have, while template resources help schools demonstrate to stakeholders the change they are driving at an individual, cohort and whole-school level.

Book excerpt: “I’m getting something,” says Shawn, assuming a look of intense concentration and pressing his fingertips to the sides of his head. Shawn Spencer uses lies, pretense, and distraction to get at the truth. But can pseudoscience and fakery really be so helpful? And if they can be, is it ethical to employ them? Psych and Philosophy takes an entertaining tour through the philosophical issues raised by a fake psychic. Can faulty logic get to the truth quicker than good logic? Are other people to blame for Shawn’s deceptions, because they’re more ready to credit him with supernatural powers than with superior natural powers? Is instinct more important than smart thinking—in police work and in life? Is it ethical to tell lies to promote the truth (and protect the public from criminals)? Almost every episode of Psych revolves around a grisly death, treated humorously by the repartee between Shawn and Gus. The show has much to tell us about human ways of coping with death, as well as about the problem of justified knowledge, the ethics of law enforcement, and the interaction of love, friendship, loyalty, and professionalism.

Book excerpt: In the future, mankind has moved on. Earth has been used up and abandoned. Colony ships were sent out to the far reaches of space. The human race encountered new worlds and new beings. Inevitably they also brought war with them. In this time, mankind developed at different technological rates on many different worlds. Some worlds kept to the old ways and others strove to get back to the technological age. All the wars that ensued destroyed just as much technology as it created. Just as knowledge was lost as much as it was gained. A group of scientists saw the human race heading for destruction and acted to do something about it. They came to the conclusion that the human race was still only a child, and a child needs to be told what to do. The wars had built many armies. So the scientists offered their services to one of the larger armies and with their new technology, the army won out over all others. However, as with children, once they have tasted candy they always want more. The scientists were raised to positions of high power within the new military and before long they had taken control. But they only had control over the military and not the whole human race but they would stop at nothing to get it. Brad and his rag tag team are the only ones who can stop them.

Book excerpt: Dearkin, a 352-year-old wizard takes his three charges... Eric, 18, Amanda, 14 and Harry 11 back to Antiqueus, the homeland he had left 112 years earlier. Being located in the mid Atlantic, the vast continent is the home of the legendary city of Atlantis. Aboard Dearkin's flying sailboat, the Mazzergast, they pass through a time rift exiting into present day Antiqueus six hours, eight minutes and four seconds into the future. Completely cloaked from our world by the time differential Antiqueus has existed, separate from our world, for nine thousand years when a massive crystal meteorite struck the continent thrusting it into the future. Besides exploring the stunning wonders of Atlantis, the fanciful landscapes of Antiqueus and the diverse mix of species, Dearkin and his crew increase in number as they track down the crazy wizard who fled with parts of the life-giving Crystal, causing destructive Time Querks and advancing the Crystal towards its inevitable annihilation destroying all of Antiqueus. Not only fighting the Time Querk's bizarre phenomena, the protagonists must fend off the vile hoard of Psychnaughts: bat-winged creatures who, seeing the young Amanda as the fulfillment of prophesy, seek to kidnap and sacrifice her life for the fruition of the Crystals destruction. Through their continental quest of finding the crazed wizard and replacing the stolen crystals the philosophy of the Wizardry is revealed, a young romance is started as another long-term one is renewed and all of Antiqueus is rocked to its core fighting a climactic battle between good verses bad and destruction verses creation. Accompanied by 35 illustrations, 12 maps and an expanded Glossarium, Antiqueus, Quest of the Mazzergast is a compilation of over fifteen years of research, writing and art. It has, at times been the bane of my life, but all in all, getting the chance to share my story with readers, young and old has been the most rewarding joy my life.

Book excerpt: In a world where children are forbidden, one couple will not comply... The human race is dying. In the near future, genetic mutation causes everyone born after a certain date to mature into psychopaths. Massacres plague the nation. For the safety of all, anyone born after Red Line Day is interned, and giving birth is illegal. Kyle and Addie are part of Generation Omega, the last people born before Red Line Day and the final senior class that will ever graduate. Their destiny will be to bury their elders and turn out the lights for all mankind. When Addie gets pregnant, the law is clear. She cannot carry a psychopath to term. She and Kyle decide to run. A mythical town called Ashrama is said to exist where people live naturally, free of the disorder that created the Psychopocalypse. They set out to find it. Guided by the shadowy members of the Invisible Skyway, and assisted by their principal and a dying pharmacist from town, they begin a cross-country journey. But much stands in their way. Escaped young psychs and bands of criminals ravage the no man’s land between cities. Government agents hunt anyone planning on breaking the rules of reproduction. And those they must trust often become betrayers when it serves their self-interest. GENERATION OMEGA combines the epic post-apocalyptic scope of THE STAND with the pace of a Lee Child thriller. The storyline taps into the common fears of an unready upcoming generation and the effects of toxins we are releasing into the world.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Church of Scientology is one of the most recognizable American-born new religions, but perhaps the least understood. With academic and popular interest on the rise, many books have been written about Scientology and surely more will follow. Although academics have begun to pay more attention to Scientology, the subject has received remarkably little qualitative attention. Indeed, no work has systematically addressed such questions as: what do Scientologists themselves have to say about their religion's history, theology, and practices? How does Scientology act as a religion for them? What does "lived religion" look like for a Scientologist? This is not so much a book about the Church of Scientology, its leaders, or its controversies, as it is a compilation of narratives and histories based on the largely unheard or ignored perspectives of Scientologists themselves. Drawing on six years of interviews, fieldwork, and research conducted among members of the Church of Scientology, this groundbreaking work examines features of the new religion's history, theology, and praxis in ways that move discussion beyond apostate-driven and expos accounts.

Specific authors discussed include Xenophon of Ephesus, Achilles Tatius, Longus, Apuleius and Lucian, while the philosophical influences include Plato, Aristotle and the Stoics.
