Download or read book Defense management better guidance needed in selecting operating methods for namebrand, fastfood restaurants. written by and published by DIANE Publishing. This book was released on 2001 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The military exchange services operate a wide range of retail activities such as department stores, florist shops, barber and beauty shops, gasoline stations, and restaurants. Profits from these activities provide funds for the Department of Defense s (DOD) morale, welfare, and recreation programs. In recent years, the exchange services annual sales exceeded $9 billion in fiscal year 1999 about $734 million involved food operations. About 50 percent of the food sales came from about 615 name-brand, fast-food restaurants (e.g., McDonald s, Burger King, Subway, and Pizza Hut) operating on military installations around the world. Name-brand, fast-food restaurant operations, particularly hamburger restaurants, are the topic of this report. It focuses on hamburger restaurants because they represent a major segment of the exchange services name-brand, fast-food sales and because exchange services contracts with two large companies, Burger King and McDonald s, will expire in 2004.

The 2022 Conference was the 44th Annual GN&C conference with more than 230 attendees from six different countries with 44 companies and 28 universities represented. The conference presented more than 100 presentations and 16 posters across 18 topics. This year, the planning committee wanted to continue a focus on networking and collaboration hoping to inspire innovation through the intersection of diverse ideas. These proceedings present the relevant topics of the day while keeping our more popular and well-attended sessions as cornerstones from year to year. Several new topics including "Autonomous Control of Multiple Vehicles" and "Results and Experiences from OSIRIS-REx" were directly influenced by advancements in our industry. In the end, the 44th Annual GN&C conference became a timely reflection of the current state of the GN&C ins the space industry. The annual American Astronautical Society Rocky Mountain Guidance, Navigation and Control (GN&C) Conference began 1977 as an informal exchange of ideas and reports of achievements among guidance and control specialists local to the Colorado area. Bud Gates, Don Parsons, and Bob Culp organized the first conference, and began the annual series of meetings the following winter. In March 1978, the First Annual Rocky Mountain Guidance and Control Conference met at Keystone, Colorado. It met there for eighteen years, moving to Breckenridge in 1996 where it has been for over 25 years

Book Synopsis Agricultural Transformation Centres in Africa - Practical guidance to promote inclusive agro-industrial development by : Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations
Download or read book Agricultural Transformation Centres in Africa - Practical guidance to promote inclusive agro-industrial development written by Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and published by Food & Agriculture Org.. This book was released on 2019-03-14 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the next ten years, the African rural space will be the theatre of profound changes as the activities envisaged for agricultural transformation are drastically scaled up. Increased food demand and changing consumption habits driven by demographic factors, such as population growth and urbanization, are already leading to a rapid increase of net food imports, opening a huge opportunity for the agribusiness sector of many African countries. Against this backdrop and in line with its mission to spur sustainable economic development and social progress, the African Development Bank (AfDB) in 2016 launched Feed Africa, a strategy that is intended to contribute substantially to the transformation of African agriculture by 2025, and to reverse Africa's dependence on imported foods. As part of this strategy, AfDB is promoting the concept of staple crops processing zones (SCPZs), which are agrobased spatial development initiatives, designed to concentrate agro-processing activities within areas of high agricultural potential to boost productivity and integrate the production, processing and marketing of selected commodities. As essential components, SCPZs include an agro-processing hub, a number of agricultural transformation centres (ATCs) and agricultural production areas. The ATCs are designed to link smallholder farmers to the agro-processing hub and are strategically located in high production areas, with the aim of serving as aggregation points to accumulate products from the community to supply the hub for further value addition, or to send them to centres of great demand for distribution and retail to consumers. This study has attempted to assess the feasibility and applicability of the ATC concept to selected regions in Zambia, Côte d'Ivoire and the United Republic of Tanzania. Findings from the field have demonstrated the potential of ATCs to address community needs and constraints for a range of selected value chains, and have helped to identify different ATC models that could work in each specific context.

Book Synopsis Enterprise Guidance in Eastern Europe by : David Granick
Download or read book Enterprise Guidance in Eastern Europe written by David Granick and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2015-03-08 with total page 524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The sixties were a decade of major reform in the guidance of industry in the socialist countries of Eastern Europe. In this comparative study of industrial management, the different directions taken by reform in the German Democratic Republic, Hungary, and Yugoslavia are examined against the pattern shown by Romania, a country in which no significant reform has occurred. The author focuses on the methods used to coordinate enterprises in the early 1970s. The book is the product of a remarkable opportunity: eleven months of interviews in the four countries. Those interviewed were mainly middle and upper managers of enterprises, but also include officials of ministries, planning commissions, banks, trade unions, and national Communist parties. The resulting data made possible new interpretations of enterprise management in Eastern Europe. Originally published in 1976.
