Articulatory factors examined include the place of articulation of the occlusive consonant; the nature of contact during the occlusion; articulatory movements at the consonants' off-glide and the subsequent placement of the vowel; the place of articulation and aperture of the vowel; and length of each sound. Acoustical effects examined include the acoustical character of the holding of the occlusive; the nature of the transition (duration and character of the explosion); and the acoustical stability of the vowel. After introductory sections concerning the study's objectives and methodology, the various analyses are described in detail and charted. A four-page bibliography is included. (MSE).
