Book excerpt: God’s Word Leads Us to God’s Heart Hebrew Word Study: Revealing the Heart of God is a devotional book unlike any you’ve ever read. Most Hebrew word study books read like a dictionary, not really explaining the Hebrew words in light of specific Bible passages. Hebrew Word Study by Chaim Bentorah combines an in-depth look at the meanings of a variety of scriptural words and phrases in the original Hebrew with a down-to-earth application for our daily Christian experience. Guided by Chaim’s expertise in biblical languages, you will examine not just word definitions, but also the origins of words, their place in the culture and idioms of the day, and even their emotional context. With the author’s anecdotes and stories from the Bible and ancient Jewish literature, the meanings of these words and passages become even more vivid. Each of the ninety word studies in this book will encourage and strengthen you in your relationship with God. As you search the depths of God’s Word, you will see just how beautiful the Scriptures are, and most of all, you will see the beauty of God Himself and come to love Him all the more.
Download or read book The Courage to Be written by Paul Tillich and published by DigiCat. This book was released on 2023-11-26 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Courage to Be introduced issues of theology and culture to a general readership. The book examines ontic, moral, and spiritual anxieties across history and in modernity. The author defines courage as the self-affirmation of one's being in spite of a threat of nonbeing. He relates courage to anxiety, anxiety being the threat of non-being and the courage to be what we use to combat that threat. Tillich outlines three types of anxiety and thus three ways to display the courage to be. Tillich writes that the ultimate source of the courage to be is the "God above God," which transcends the theistic idea of God and is the content of absolute faith (defined as "the accepting of the acceptance without somebody or something that accepts").

Book Synopsis Faith, Courage, Wisdom, Strength and Hop by : Stacey Chillemi
Download or read book Faith, Courage, Wisdom, Strength and Hop written by Stacey Chillemi and published by Publishamerica Incorporated. This book was released on 2005-10 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We must view life as if each day is the first day of the rest of our lives. We should keep an outlook in our minds about life, as each day is the opportunity for a new start. We must learn to live each day to the fullest, and we can do that only if we learn to accept that we cannot change the past. We cannot stop a tragedy from entering our lives. We have to accept what has happened, accept the new person we have become by the tragedy that has entered our life and love ourselves no matter what. No one is perfect. The present is now, and we hold the key to the future. It is time to create the new you. Happiness and success come with persistence and hard work. You must have a goal and work hard. Follow your hearts to true happiness. You must have a destination, a goal and a plan. You are special. You can be anything you want to be. It is your turn to love yourself. The poems in this book will give you the faith, hope, courage and strength to be happy and love life. If you cannot find happiness in the present, you will never find it in the future. Those who find true happiness pursue the goal of achieving as much success and finding as much happiness as possible every day of their lives. Many people think that happiness lies in how much material wealth you accumulate. Nevertheless, we must find happiness within ourselves? not in the external world. Happiness comes from within and from making others happy. Each day, we have a new opportunity to find happiness; and unless we are able to learn to be happy on a day-to-day basis, we will probably never find true happiness. There are situations, when we find ourselves trapped, full of anger, not knowing where to turn or what to do. The anger of losing control of our lives. You may feel like life is meaningless, and happiness is no longer an option. My poems will show you otherwise. I will show you through my poetry that there is no reason to be angry. Love yourself as your loved ones love you. Life is meaningless unless you can love, be happy and bring your happiness to others. As you read my poetry, you will see a completely new meaning of life. In addition, faith will once again be a part of your life.

Book excerpt: Perfect Piece is a perfectly conceived conclusion to the charming Sisters, Ink series of novels for women. At the heart of each story are four unlikely sisters, each separately adopted into the home of Marilyn and Jack Sinclair where they still meet as adults in their late mother’s attic to work on scrapbook projects and work through life together. The Sinclair sisterhood is about to be rocked from its foundation when Meg—the bedrock sibling most like Momma—collapses with a brain tumor. Surgery removes the invading mass but leaves a sister full of mood swings, depression, anger, and bitterness. Tandy, Kendra, and Joy struggle to find a trace of their formerly happy sister, who always pointed them to life’s positives. Meg’s husband, Jamison, struggles even more. With no idea how to handle the new, unimproved person inhabiting his wife’s body, he finds it too easy to seek solace in the clever conversation of another woman. What none of them realize is that the wisdom they need is already at hand; available
