Book excerpt: God’s Word Leads Us to God’s Heart Hebrew Word Study: Revealing the Heart of God is a devotional book unlike any you’ve ever read. Most Hebrew word study books read like a dictionary, not really explaining the Hebrew words in light of specific Bible passages. Hebrew Word Study by Chaim Bentorah combines an in-depth look at the meanings of a variety of scriptural words and phrases in the original Hebrew with a down-to-earth application for our daily Christian experience. Guided by Chaim’s expertise in biblical languages, you will examine not just word definitions, but also the origins of words, their place in the culture and idioms of the day, and even their emotional context. With the author’s anecdotes and stories from the Bible and ancient Jewish literature, the meanings of these words and passages become even more vivid. Each of the ninety word studies in this book will encourage and strengthen you in your relationship with God. As you search the depths of God’s Word, you will see just how beautiful the Scriptures are, and most of all, you will see the beauty of God Himself and come to love Him all the more.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many Christians long to study the Word of God in the original Hebrew. They will take Hebrew classes at a college, a synagogue, or online and often become discouraged because these classes either teach them to speak Hebrew or spend considerable time teaching complex rules of grammar when all these Christians want to do is find God's heart and message in His Word. As a result, these Christians usually give up and just go to the back of their Strong's Concordance, a lexicon, or a Bible dictionary to look up a word. This book is written for the Christian who does not want to learn to speak Hebrew or spend long hours trying to understand complex rules of grammar. All they want is to know if there is a deeper meaning to certain Hebrew words. Even after looking up a word in their lexicon, they are still left with a nagging feeling that there must be more. In most cases there is more, and this book will give some guidelines in how to drill down into the very heart, soul, and core of a Hebrew word; it will take you to a world beyond your lexicon, and you do not need a PhD to do it. The only thing you will need is to love the Word of God, and if you love it enough, it will reveal its secrets. Hebrew is a language of the heart, and if you love God enough, He will reveal His heart to you through the ancient Hebrew language.

Book excerpt: Hebrew Word Study: Exploring the Mind of God reveals the thoughts and plans of our Creator-Father as revealed in the deeper meanings of Hebrew words in Scripture. Chaim Bentorah highlights many Old Testament passages that reveal the loving nature of God, as opposed to the vindictive nature that is commonly portrayed. Each devotional includes a specific passage of Scripture, followed by an investigation of key words in the original Hebrew, all pointing to the eternal purposes of our loving heavenly Father. Use as an inspiring daily devotional that will draw you closer to the Lord, a deeper word study into biblical Hebrew—or both! You don't even have to be familiar with a word of Hebrew to be greatly blessed by these insights. Chaim opens up the biblical passages while ultimately pointing us to enter more fully into a loving relationship with our Lord.

Book excerpt: All previous Biblical Hebrew lexicons have provided a modern western definition and perspective to Hebrew roots and words. This prevents the reader of the Bible from seeing the ancient authors' original intent of the passages. This is the first Biblical Hebrew lexicon that defines each Hebrew word within its original Ancient Hebrew cultural meaning. One of the major differences between the Modern Western mind and the Ancient Hebrew's is that their mind related all words and their meanings to a concrete concept. For instance, the Hebrew word "chai" is normally translated as "life", a western abstract meaning, but the original Hebrew concrete meaning of this word is the "stomach". In the Ancient Hebrew mind, a full stomach is a sign of a full "life". The Hebrew language is a root system oriented language and the lexicon is divided into sections reflecting this root system. Each word of the Hebrew Bible is grouped within its roots and is defined according to its original ancient cultural meaning. Also included in each word entry are its alternative spellings, King James translations of the word and Strong's number. Indexes are included to assist with finding a word within the lexicon according to its spelling, definition, King James translation or Strong's number.

Book excerpt: Hebrew Word Study Ancient Biblical Words Put Into A Modern Context is different from other Hebrew word study books as this book takes a specific passage of Scripture and analyzes it with respect to its historical and cultural background. It takes key Hebrew words in this passage of Scripture and drills down to the very heart, soul and core of the Hebrew word and where appropriate traces that word to its Semitic origins. This is then put into a devotional format using the author's experiences from driving a disability bus to help illustrate and put these Scriptures and Hebrew words into a modern context for every day Christian living.

It is meant for a bed stand, living room or wherever you go for some quiet time with God's Word. These 365 daily devotionals are designed to provide short inspirational thoughts you can meditate on during the day or before going to sleep at night. Treasures of the Deep is different from most devotional books that give a little story or inspirational thought and concludes with a Scripture verse. This book begins with scripture and provides inspiration through an analysis of the original biblical Hebrew or Aramaic. Each devotional is a short word study designed to cause the reader to ponder and meditate on deeper meanings of Scripture passages that they may never have considered. It is my hope and prayer that every reader might realize that Scripture has a depth that they never dreamed possible, and that every passage may carry a message from God to each reader personally, and might encourage them to learn a bit of biblical Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic to enhance their personal Bible study.

Book excerpt: In his third book Chaim Bentorah finds that after having discovered and exploring God's heart, He found himself moving more in an Eastern or Semitic approach to his word studies. Rather than allowing his mind to rule his heart he found God's heart ruling his mind in his word studies. He began to feel a freedom to allow God's heart to rule His mind. When He did this He discovered that He was no longer searching or exploring the Heart of God, He was now resting in the Heart of God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a guide to personal Hebrew word study. As a Bible College teacher of the biblical Hebrew language, my students were to be future pastors, missionaries, and Christian leaders. This more traditional line of instruction involved substantial memorization of Hebrew verbal forms and vocabulary. Today I am teaching Christians of all backgrounds how to use the Hebrew language in their own personal Bible study. In most cases, I am teaching people who are not interested in earning a degree but they do want to be able to study the Bible in the original language. Learning God's Love Language is a tool that you can use in your personal Bible study to learn Hebrew almost immediately, without years of memorization and other Hebrew language courses. This book will become a personal guide for your own Hebrew word study. It is not a textbook for those seeking an academic degree, wishing to learn to speak modern Hebrew or preparing for a graduate school placement test. Learning God's Love Language is for those who wish to study God's Word and find a richer, deeper understanding by peering into the ancient Hebrew language and exploring the meanings contained in a particular word. This book is the result of my many years of research, developing a Bible study tool where any Christian, regardless of age, educational background, or culture can study God's Word in its original language. This Bible study tool will take you beyond concordances, lexicons, and Bible dictionaries, opening up each Hebrew word and reading its built-in commentary by combining the ancient, esoteric structure of each Hebrew word, letter by letter. And by doing so, enrich your understanding of God's Word through His ancient love language.

Book excerpt: The butterfly effect comes from the suggestion that the flapping of a butterfly's wings in South America could affect the weather in Texas, meaning that the tiniest influence on one part of a system can have a huge effect on another part. Biblical Hebrew is an ancient language that became a dead language around 500 BC. In this book Chaim Bentorah takes various ancient Biblical Hebrew words and give them a modern understanding to show how they have a life changing effect in the 21st Century.

Book excerpt: Reading a translation of any book is just not the same as reading it in its original language and is adequately stated in the phrase "lost in the translation." Whenever a text is translated from one language to another it loses some of its flavor and substance. The problem is compounded by the fact that a language is tied to the culture that uses that language. When the text is read by a culture different from the one it is written in, it loses its cultural context. A Biblical example of this can be found in the Hebrew word tsur which is translated as a rock - "He only is my rock and my salvation, he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved" (Psalm 62:2, KJV). What is a rock and how does it apply to God? To us it may mean solid, heavy or hard but the cultural meaning of the word tsur is a high place in the rocks where one runs to for refuge and defense, a place of salvation. "The Living Words" is an in-depth study into the Ancient Hebrew vocabulary and culture of the Bible replacing the flavor and substance that has been removed from us.

In silence I was able to enter a special room in Gods heart, a quiet room, a weeping room. In this room I found Jesus holding a heart in His hands, the heart of a young woman, a heart which had been broken. He was weeping over that broken heart. He was feeling the hearts hurt and loneliness. He wept over that wounded heart longing so much to heal the wound that tore it apart, but this young woman would not seek his comfort. I saw Him pick up another heart, a heart of wounded veteran. That heart was cold and barren and I watched his tear drops just roll off that hardened heart. I could sense He was wishing that each tear would somehow penetrate that heart, but this brave warrior would not open it to Him to allow the tears of His Savior to enter and soften his heart. As He picked up another broken heart I reached out to Him and touched His nail pierced hand and instantly I felt His sorrow and pain, the anguish felt by each heart and I too wept. All four of us wept. It was in this quiet, weeping room that I saw my own hearts desire. It was to not have a flourishing ministry, books published, or to even experience a healing of my body, it was only to seek and search for these hearts and let them know that there is a Savior weeping for them, longing to enter their wounded heart to allow His tears , His nailed pierced hands heal those wounds.
