Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ernst's research, based on rare Persian manuscripts preserved in Sufi shrines in the medieval town of Khuldabad, a major center of pilgrimage in the Indian Deccan, reveals the mystical teachings and practices of the Chishti Sufi order as taught by the ecstatic Shaykh Burhan al-Din Gharib (d. 1337) and his disciples. The book clarifies the diverse historiographical approaches found in an array of narratives. It redefines major topics in the often emotionally charged study of religion and history in South Asia, and it raises provocative theses on much-argued topics such as the basis of Islamic political power in South Asia and the alleged roles of Sufis as warriors and missionaries.

Book excerpt: I have written many books and articles on various topics but since 2013, I have devoted myself fully in writing the interpretation of the Holy Quran in English and with the grace of Allah, I have completed the whole Quran on 29th October 2020 with 84 books. I believe there is a great need in the whole world for the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran to be written in English. Currently, there is a great misunderstanding about Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims globally. The misunderstanding of the meaning of the Holy Quran among Muslims will lead to the wrong practice of Islam which leads to the wrong actions of Muslims. The wrong actions of Muslims will lead to misunderstandings about Islam among Muslims and non-Muslims. The wrong actions of the Muslims have led to many miseries and wars among Muslims. The wrong actions of Muslims have also led to many wars and clashes between Muslims and non-Muslims. In order to avoid miseries, wars and clashes from taking place between the whole mankind in the whole world, the whole mankind in the whole world need to understand the true teaching of Islam. There is no other way for the whole mankind to understand the true teaching of Islam unless the whole mankind is able to read and understand the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran. The whole mankind is only able to read and understand the correct interpretation of the Holy Quran when it is written in the universal language of the world (English). For this very reason I have written the interpretation of the Holy Quran in English. Prof. Nasoha Bin Saabin

Book excerpt: Although pluralism and religious tolerance are most often associated today with Western Enlightenment thinkers, the roots of these ideologies stretch back to non-Western and premodern societies, including many under Muslim rule. This book explores the development of pluralism in Islam in South Asia through the work of the poet, historian and musician Amir Khusraw and sheds new light on how Islam developed its own culture of tolerance. Countering stereotypes of Islam as intrinsically intolerant, the book provides a better understanding of how rhetorics of pluralism develop, which may aid in identifying and encouraging such discourses in the present. Khusraw, a practicing Muslim who showed great affection toward Hindus and used much indigenous imagery in his poetry, is an ideal figure through whom to explore these issues. Addressing issues of ethnicity, religion and gender in the early medieval period, Alyssa Gabbay demonstrates the pre-modern precedents for pluralism, conveying the broad sweep of Perso-Islamicate culture and the profound transformations it underwent in medieval South Asia. Accurately depicting the paradoxicality and jaggedness involved in the development of its composite culture, this book will have great relevance to scholars and students of Islam in South Asia, gender, religious pluralism, and Persian literature.

The book presents the argument that the pragmatic medieval view of the natural world of animals and plants, existed simply to serve medieval society. It discusses the medieval concept of animals as food, labour, and sport and addresses how the biblical charge of assuming dominion over animals and plants, was rooted in the medieval sensibility of control. The book also looks at the idea of plants and animals as not only pragmatic, but as allegories within the medieval world, utilizing animals to draw morality tales, which were viewed with as much importance as scientific information. This book provides a unique and interesting look at the everyday medieval world.

I openly and honestly share tragic and devastating experiences and how the Father's wisdom and providence worked in and through them to reveal His true nature, character, and heart of love toward me and the reality of the Christ within. At the revelation of His amazing grace and unconditional love, I was able to see the truth about my personal worth and value. Christ is the mystery hidden in God before the ages and the preeminent, central person and constant focus of our Christian faith. The book presents a gospel of good news, grace, and celebration and the triune God as the greatest romantic of the ages (Colossians 1:20, Ephesians 1:10, Colossians 2:9-10). God is a happy Father who takes great pleasure in loving His children and is resting on the finished, complete, and triumphant work of His Son. Come journey with me through the pages of this book, and have a glimpse at the divine romance and union of love that existed between the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in eternity past, and you will understand your true origin and identity. This revelation will awaken you to His unchanging love and the splendor, majesty, creativity, and beauty of your eternal being, and it will empower you to walk in your God-given destiny as a child of God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a set of new and innovative essays on landscape and garden culture in precolonial India, with a special focus on the Deccan. Most research to date has concentrated on the comparatively well preserved gardens and built landscapes of the celebrated Mughal empire, giving the impression that they have been lacking in other times and regions. Not only does this volume provide a corrective to such assumptions, it also moves away from traditional art-historical approaches by posing new questions and exploring hitherto neglected source materials. The contributors understand gardens in two related ways: first as real or imagined spaces and manipulated landscapes that are often invested with pronounced semiotic density; and second as congeries of institutions and practices with far-reaching social ramifications for the constitution of elite societies. The essays here present a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of garden culture in precolonial India, and together suggest several new and exciting directions of enquiry for those working in the Deccan, Mughal India, and beyond.

Book excerpt: The family system should offer chances for the family members to decide what should be done. The loss of imaginary boundaries between family members may cause problems. Stopping interference in others’ personal issues is one reason for happiness. Flexible boundaries diminish conflicts, enhance good relationships, and reinforce respect. Micromanagement and harsh communication may turn family members into enemies. Unequal treatment of siblings or parental bias toward one of the children may also cause envy or rage. Empathy and compassion are the main sources of love between family members. During perplexing time, there is always an internal dialogue that directs the individual’s personal behavior toward pleasures or perfectionism. Naturally, the response should have a balance between the desire of pleasure and correctness. Rage can turn sibling to wrongdoers. For example, the prophet Josephs half-brothers spoke to each other outdoors. “Joseph and his full brother are our father’s favorites more than us, but we are a group of ten. Our father may have wondered mind. Let us kill Joseph or leave him into an unknown area. “Do not slay Joseph. If you want to do something, put him in the desert at an empty water spring, and he will be taken by travelers,” said Joseph’s half-brother. The travelers came, and their waiter dropped his container into the empty water spring, and said, “here is a boy.” They sold him for a little money.

It is not by coincidence that humanity began in a garden, Jesus was crucified between two gardens, and we see a garden in heaven. These are symbols of spiritual realities, and also as prophetic signs of events yet to come.

Book excerpt: For 35,000 years ancient Afghanistan was called Aryana (the Light of God) has existed. Then in 747 AD what is today called Afghanistan became Khorasan (which means Sunrise in Dari) which was a much larger geographical area. In the middle of the nineteenth century the name Afghanistan, which means home of the united tribes, was applied originally by the Saxons (present day British) and the Russians. During the Great Games in the middle of nineteenth century, the Durand Line was created in 1893 and was in place until 1993. Saxons created the state of Afghanistan out of a geographical area roughly the size of Texas: in 1893 before which there were 10 million square kilometers, larger than the size of Canada, as means to act as a buffer zone between the Saxon-India & Tsarist-Russia and the Chinese.
