The Testimony Of A Servant In Bombay Was Often As Illuminating As That If A Cabinet Member. I Also Proceeded To Read As Widely As Possible, Big Up Old Newspaper And Magazine Files, Consult The Official Records, And Knit The Results Together. I Have Read All The Relevant Materials. I Got Much More From People Than From Books, Much More By Ear Than From Eye. My Real Source Is A Long List Of Men And Women. Some Material Was Confidential As To Source. To All Those Who Helped Me, Let Me Say Warm Thanks.When I Began Writing After A Few Days Research I Thought In Terms Of A Comparatively Brief Character Sketch, Nothing More. Then I Found Out That To Explain The Character I Had To Proceed To A Longer Account Of The Main Elements Of Dr. Sharma S Life As Well.
