Book One, A Soul to Steal: "When I first downloaded 'A Soul to Steal' I had no idea I would get sucked into a series that would fire my imagination and twist mythologies so thoroughly." Book Two: Band of Demons, has earned rave reviews for its "plot twists that will leave you gasping for air." Book Three: Give the Devil His Due has been called "a masterfully crafted story" and a "stellar conclusion to one of the best trilogies I've ever read... I'm still reeling from the ending." "I am happy to cheer Mr. Blackwell on as he draws us into his supernatural thriller, The Sanheim Chronicles." -- Mark Metcalf, Actor (The Master, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) MORE ABOUT GIVE THE DEVIL HIS DUE, BOOK THREE OF THE SANHEIM CHRONICLES: The stunning conclusion to The Sanheim Chronicles trilogy... A Soul to Steal revealed an ancient Celtic myth in which a man and woman could gain tremendous power around Halloween, provided they faced and conquered their fears. Quinn O'Brion and Kate Tassel, two small-town journalists, became the Prince of Sanheim and used that power to defeat a serial killer. In Band of Demons, Quinn and Kate battled a new threat, two legendary creatures who had already destroyed everyone in their path. But Kate and Quinn's victory came at a heavy price. In Give the Devil His Due, Kate's only hope to save Quinn is to trust the man who took him from her. Don't miss the epic finale to the trilogy that has readers raving about its great characters, plot twists and deft combination of urban fantasy, mystery and suspense. The Lord Sanheim rules forever... "This third book in The Sanheim Chronicles is a masterfully crafted story that ties in all the pieces from the first two parts. Not only are Sanheim and his followers finally confronted face to face by Quinn and Kate, they are seen in a whole new light... or darkness depending on which side you are watching from." -- Indie Reader

Book Synopsis Nicopolis ad Istrum III by : Andrew Poulter
Download or read book Nicopolis ad Istrum III written by Andrew Poulter and published by Oxbow Books. This book was released on 2007-05-27 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This, the third and final monograph, completes the description of the excavations carried out by the British team, part of the Anglo-Bulgarian archaeological programme on the site of Nicopolis ad Istrum in northern Bulgaria, one of the best-preserved ancient cities of the Roman Empire. The site provided a unique opportunity to compare the changing layout and economy of an urban centre from the Roman to the late Roman and the early Byzantine periods (c. AD 100-600). The excavations, geophysics, coins and wall-plaster were published in volume 1. Volume 2 describes the evidence for economic changes between the Roman and early Byzantine periods and contains full reports on the pottery and the glass. This volume includes full descriptions of all small-finds (ceramic copper-alloy and iron objects, glass, lamps, sculpture, architecture and flints) each object provided with a description of its archaeological context and the date of deposition. The second half of the volume identifies the environmental and economic differences between the three main periods in the history of the site. Reports include quantified assemblages of zooarchaeological finds (large and, small mammals), fish, birds, archaeobotanical remains, mollusca and human skeletons as well as the results of metallurgical analysis: copper-alloy, iron and 'natural' steel. Not only is this range and quantity of finds in these reports unparalleled in the Balkans, they represent a valuable resource for the material culture of the Roman and late Roman periods coming, as they do, from a part of the Roman Empire which has produced very few comparable assemblages. Of no less importance are the quantified bioarchaeological data which offers a unique insight into the charging morphology and economy of a Roman, late Roman and early Byzantine city.
