It also contains links to videos that demonstrate how structure determines movement and performance in dogs. This book is geared towards people who want to know more about what it takes to make a great performance dog. If you are getting ready to purchase a puppy, adopt an older dog or just want to know more about the dog you have, this book will help you understand what makes a great performance dog. If you have ever wondered why some dogs excel while others struggle and why some dogs have longer careers than others, Picking Your Performance Puppy will take the mystery out structure for performance and answer those questions. Never before has the performance dog sport world had a manual like this book. Picking Your Performance Puppy goes beyond traditional "conformational thinking" about a dog's structure. In my opinion this book is a must have resource for anyone selecting a new puppy or considering the impact of playing a sport with their dog. Susan Garrett Say Yes Dog Training Inc.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ease Your Mind And Indulge Your Dog! If you want your dog to feel safe and secure in your home, it's time to crate train! A crate is designed as much for a dog's well-being as it is for the owner's convenience and peace of mind. For example, a crate keeps a curious puppy away from chemicals under the kitchen sink, gives a sick or convalescing dog a quiet place to rest, and secures a rambunctious dog during car trips. Crate training works because dogs, like their wild ancestors, desire a snug "den" that affords security and privacy. When dogs are crate trained properly, they accept and even enjoy their sequestered time. Pat Storer shows you how to maintain a positive, loving attitude while being firm and consistent with your dog. With Storer's advice on choosing the right crate, step-by-step instructions, and tips for dealing with crate-related behavior problems, both you and your dog will find crate training to be a simple, successful experience.

Just a Walk in the Park describes a philosophy I have when judging Draft Tests for the Bernese Mountain Dog Club of America (BMDCA). It describes the ideal effortless performance where the teamwork between handler and dog is so good that you can forget that the dog was pulling a cart. Whether you have never performed draft work with your dog, or are fine-tuning your performances for your next draft test or parade, or anywhere in between, Just a Walk in the Park will get you pulling in the right direction! What you will learn * How to select the correct equipment and get it adjusted properly for safety, comfort and performance * Progress through the basics of pulling, turning, and the intangibles that improve your teamwork * Take an in-depth look at training for all of the exercises for the Bernese Mountain Dog, Newfoundland, and Rottweiler draft tests * Learn how to prepare yourself and your dog to meet and exceed draft test requirements What experts are saying about Just a Walk in the Park Just a Walk in the Park is a great new addition to the dog trainer's library. Whether you are new to the idea of drafting or an experienced veteran, this book is for you. Just a Walk in the Park is written in a conversational style that feels like training tips from a friend. It's easy to understand and enjoyable to read... a true "walk in the park". If your four-footed buddy could read he'd say "Buy this book and let's go carting!" ~ Ruth Nielsen, BMDCA Draft Judge Just a Walk In the Park is a lovely book with a wonderful sentiment and so much more. It is perfect for a beginner to truly understand the equipment, the processes, and the tests so they are more able to learn about drafting with their dog. It is also a good refresher for people who need a little more help and understanding of the fine points. Just a Walk In the Park shares the mechanics and love of the game better than any I have seen. ~ Valerie Horney, BMDCA Draft Judge

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Approached by the Intelligence Force to help in the release of VIPs held by the Germans in is last year at school and the last year of World War II, Glyndwr afterwards returns to real life, looking for a job he likes and can do. Years later he is drawn back to help the Force and they offer an expected incentive. This becomes a pattern for his life. This story, written in the late 1970s, remained undiscovered until three years after the authors death in 2014. Much of it was familiar but the sections involving Operation XX were completely unknown. At first it was thought the title referred to the group of boys trained for the first operation but internet searches brought to light the double meaning of XX: 20 (in Roman numerals) and double-cross. Operation XX was set up in 1941 to use captured German spies to feed back misinformation to Germany. It eventually came under MI5. Glyndwr always questioned what choice, if any, he had in the events and the way life took him. For his family the discovery of the story raised many questions that may never be answered.
