Book Synopsis Network Design for IP Convergence by : Yezid Donoso
Download or read book Network Design for IP Convergence written by Yezid Donoso and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2009-02-23 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The emergence of quality-of-service (QoS) mechanisms continues to propel the development of real-time multimedia services such as VoIP and videoconferencing. However, many challenges remain in achieving optimized standardization convergence. Network Design for IP Convergence is a comprehensive, global guide to recent advances in IP network implementation. Providing an introduction to basic LAN/WAN/MAN network design, the author covers the latest equipment and architecture, addressing, QoS policies, and integration of services, among other topics. The book explains how to integrate the different layers of reference models and various technological platforms to mirror the harmonization that occurs in the real world of carrier networks. It furnishes appropriate designs for traditional and critical services in the LAN and carrier networks (both MAN and WAN), and it clarifies how a specific layer or technology can cause those services to malfunction. This book lays a foundation for understanding with concepts and applicability of QoS parameters under the multilayer scheme, and a solid explanation of service infrastructure. It goes on to describe integration in both real time and "not real time," elaborating on how both processes can co-exist within the same IP network and concluding with the designs and configurations of service connections. Learn How to Overcome Obstacles to Improve Technology This sweeping analysis of the implementation of IP convergence and QoS mechanisms helps designers and operators get past key obstacles, such as integrating platform layers and technologies and implementing various associated QoS concepts, to improve technology and standards.
Book Synopsis Theoretical and Computational Research in the 21st Century by : Nazmul Islam
Download or read book Theoretical and Computational Research in the 21st Century written by Nazmul Islam and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2014-10-28 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book focuses mainly on the recent developments of all types of theoretical, mathematical, and computational conceptions, as well as modelling and simulation of specific research themes covering all scientific and technical disciplines from chemistry, physics, and engineering to biology and medicine. The book contains timely reviews and research covering fundamental and applied research aspects in all disciplines of natural sciences, including their historical representations and philosophical perspectives. The book discusses the fact that the largest and smallest values of the fukui function and local softness do not necessarily correspond to the softness and hardness regions of the molecules such as porphyrins. The authors have adopted two popular calculation procedures for this venture. One is the very old Hückel molecular orbital calculation, and the other is one of best semi-empirical AM-1 procedures for such systems. Our finding is that neither the fukui functions nor the local softnesses can predict the preferred donor sites of porphyrins toward metal ions.

This book was released on 2007-05-08 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of Modeling and Simulation of Microstructure Evolution in Solidifying Alloys is to describe in a clear mathematical language the physics of the solidification structure evolution of cast alloys. The concepts and methodologies presented here for the net-shaped casting and the ingot remelt processes can be applied, with some modifications, to model other solidification processes such as welding and deposition processes. Another aim of the book is to provide simulation examples of the solidification structure modeling in some crucial commercial casting technologies as well as to provide practical techniques for controlling the structure formation during the solidification processes.

Book Synopsis Storying the Public Intellectual by : Pat Sikes
Download or read book Storying the Public Intellectual written by Pat Sikes and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-10-17 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Storying the Public Intellectual: Commentaries on the Impact and Influence of the Work of Ivor Goodson offers a critcal commentary on Goodson’s work that avoids hagiography whilst recognising the global reach of his scholarship. With contributors from around the world, those who have collaborated with him or those who have taken up his work, the book provides the sort of social and historical contextualising that Goodson has always advocated. The accounts in this collection highlight how Goodson’s integration of moral imperatives into strategically responsive scholarship can provide a useful roadmap when negotiating a path through the contemporary academic research landscape. By using his historian’s orientation and sensibilities he is able to get to the heart of the logics of schooling. By connecting with other scholars and researchers around the world, he exposes how the global neo-liberal project plays out in particular settings, and so challenges pervasive understandings about the meaning of global – and the power of the neo-liberal project itself. This book is ideal reading for academics, scholars and researchers in the field of education, including those involved in initial and in-service teacher education.
