Download or read book Six White Doves & One Pink Rose written by J. Brown and published by best global publishing. This book was released on 2008 with total page 65 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Description This is a collection of prayers and poems created over many years to offer comfort and above all self-belief. This collection gives an amazing perception that everybody has certain pathways. As much as we try to avoid the wrong pathways, we very often tend to head straight for them. This book and the poetry it contains reflects Josephine's experiences from caring for an ill son, to major operations and disability. Many of the poems allude to Josephine's strong religious identity. This is an extremely strong collection of poetry from an extremely strong woman. About the Author After recovering from polio meningitis at aged 6 and being 'home alone' for 4 years. I'd taught myself how to read and write. I returned to school for the final year wherein I won a writing prize at The Royal Albert Hall five times. I went on to work in the legal profession until 2001 when I became David's (son) carer. Having had a turbulent life I compiled two poetry books. I have won certificates from Lookout Magazine and The National Library of Poets - Welwyn Hatfield Times covered these events. Between 1993 until 2003 I became dedicated to securing David's freedom from oppression.

Book excerpt: On the Wings of a Dove is a compilation of poems designed to stimulate an appreciation for the simple blessings we oft times take for granted because of the havoc and chaos that surrounds us in our daily lives here on this earth. The dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit and represents simplicity, gentleness, divine guidance, marital affection, and the deepest kind of peace. Its wings exemplify the Love of God and God's forgiveness. The dove's unadorned and striking white image provides us with an ever-present reminder that there is always hope when there is faith in our Heavenly Father. The poetry within On the Wings of a Dove are intended to provide inspiration and support as an arsenal against troubling times and difficult situations, to produce a guiding light on darkened day, and to give one the solace and belief that our Heavenly Father loves each of us, watches over us, and is preparing our place within His Kingdom.

Just as effortlessly as our spirits are enlivened with the rapture of love, they can so easily wallow when incurred with heartbreak. White Dove and Evenings Pass serves as a reminder that one of life's greatest rewards is well worth the risk.
Book Synopsis Reading Blake's Songs by : Zachary Leader
Download or read book Reading Blake's Songs written by Zachary Leader and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-08-11 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First appearing in 1981, this book was the first full-length study of the Songs of Innocence and Experience to be published in almost fifteen years. The book provides detailed readings of each poem and its accompanying design, to redirect attention to the nature and achievement of the book as a whole, to Songs as a single, carefully unified work of verbal and visual art. Particularly close attention is paid, not only to the designs Blake etched to accompany his poems, but also to the many books and treatises for and about children to which, it is argued, Songs alludes or is indebted. Like so many important works of this period, Songs is shown to be autobiographical in nature, one of Blake’s attempts to order and account for the conflicts and crises of his own art and life. Its story is that of an artist’s growth into and out of vision, and of his gradual realization of the dangers and deficiencies of the prophetic mode.

Download or read book The Plague of Doves written by Louise Erdrich and published by Harper Collins. This book was released on 2009-03-17 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, The Plague of Doves—the first part of a loose trilogy that includes the National Book Award-winning The Round House and LaRose—is a gripping novel about a long-unsolved crime in a small North Dakota town and how, years later, the consequences are still being felt by the community and a nearby Native American reservation. Though generations have passed, the town of Pluto continues to be haunted by the murder of a farm family. Evelina Harp—part Ojibwe, part white—is an ambitious young girl whose grandfather, a repository of family and tribal history, harbors knowledge of the violent past. And Judge Antone Bazil Coutts, who bears witness, understands the weight of historical injustice better than anyone. Through the distinct and winning voices of three unforgettable narrators, the collective stories of two interwoven communities ultimately come together to reveal a final wrenching truth. Bestselling author Louise Erdrich delves into the fraught waters of historical injustice and the impact of secrets kept too long.
