And yet for the natural witch, born and bred by the sea, the beach and rocky shore are equally as magical as the inland woods and hills of more traditional approaches to witchcraft. The author takes us on a magical journey along the seashore and reveals how to work with the natural oceanic tides and energies. Learn how to harness the powers of the deep, and collect flotsam and jetsam for use as ritual tools. A book like no other.

Book excerpt: For the witch whose career confines them to an urban environment, regular Craft practice may often seem like a futile gesture, especially if home is a small, gardenless-flat. Even the suburbs can be magically incapacitating, if there is constant noise from traffic and neighbours. People work long hour without having the opportunity to notice the subtle changing of the seasons. Weekends are a constant battle with family, domestic chores and socialising. It’s no wonder that the urban witch has little time left for magical and spiritual development.Traditional Witchcraft for Urban Living deals with the constant barrage of psychic problems that confront the urban witch on a daily basis. Based on the teachings of a traditional Craft background, the author successfully manages to blend the Old Ways with practical contemporary practice. This book is part of the Traditional Witchcraft Series. Other titles in the series are Traditional Witchcraft for the Seashore(Jan 2012), Traditional Witchcraft for Fields and Hedgerows (Mar 2012) and Traditional Witchcraft for the Woods and Forests (Mar 2012).

Book excerpt: Traditional Witchcraft and the Path to the Mysteries, the sixth and last in the Traditional Witchcraft series, is a voyage of discovery and, as with every journey, it is essential that we understand where we are now and where we want to be. We need proper direction unlike that popular old Irish saying: “If I wanted to be going there, I wouldn’t be starting from here!” So let us make our preparations, put our house in order, and begin our journey of exploration and self-discovery. As with all stages of Life there are friends and acquaintances to consider: the essence of some we will take with us – the rest we will leave behind. But as the genii from Where the Rainbow Ends says: “Time is short, and we have far to travel.”

Book excerpt: In 1852 two sisters leave Scotland alone, amid fear of persecution as witches. They are only teenagers but they are leaving behind everything they know and heading for a new world so that they can start living without fear...One of the sisters, my great great great grandmother, Euphemia Grieve, left her homeland under unusual circumstances as a young girl. She came to Canada where she married William MacKenzie and they started a new life together. They were advised by family friend Emily Stowe (one of Canada's very first female doctors) to build a home in Muskoka Ontario, which they did. An octagonal home, built by 8 Scottish carpenters. A powerful, natural, magick Circle, my childhood home. They were practicing theosophists, whose mandate includes the re-awakening of humanities psychic gifts, and to investigate the unexplained laws of Nature and the powers latent in humankind. Some consider the modern day New Age movement to be based on theosophical teachings, and even in the new world one couldn't openly declare oneself a witch in 1886. In Muskoka they planted a huge perennial garden full of witches herbs and flowers which still existed when I was growing up there, steeped in tradition. I am a 6th generation practicing witch among the matrimonial line in my family. Initiated by family and raised in traditional witchcraft. Although I was baptized as a Christian for propriety's sake (most of the men in the family are not initiated or even aware of the Craft, although this is changing) I have always been aware of the truth and intrinsic rightness of the Craft of the Wise. I was always allowed and encouraged to explore other religions and make my own choice but there has only ever been one way for me. I consider myself very well-read on the subject, and well-versed in the different traditions that make up modern day Wicca and neo-paganism, and as a teenager I attended Wiccan church in Toronto. Today, as all the woman in my family I am a fully initiated third degree solitary practitioner. And in this book I am including 200 years of real accumulated knowledge to enable others to fulfill their lives.

Book excerpt: Both FieldCraft and its companion title, WoodCraft, assume a certain degree of magical understanding on the part of the reader with regard to routine divination, spell and Circle casting. For this reason, the text does not include the basic elements of rudimentary witchcraft that can be found in titles similar to Mean Streets Witchcraft and Sea Change. The books have been written in tandem to avoid any unnecessary repetition, and to provide cross-references where necessary.

Book excerpt: The term 'power animal' was introduced into contemporary language in 1980 by anthropologist Michael Harner in his classic work The Way Of The Shaman, and refers to a broad-based animistic and shamanic concept that has entered the English language from the fields of anthropology, ethnography and sociology. The animal is conceived as a tutelary spirit that helps or protects individuals, lineages, and nations. Dogs and man became companions a long time ago, and the dog adopted as a power animal represents speed, agility, courage, protection, justice, nobility and loyalty. Aubry's Dog: Power Animals Within Traditional Witchcraft guides your footsteps on this most ancient of paths ... ,

Within the pages of Mermaid Magic you will: * Invoke mermaids and sea goddesses for health and happiness. * Dive in with dolphins, whales, dugongs and sea turtles. * Slip back in time to the golden age of Lemuria, Atlantis and Ys. * Study the charms, spells and secrets of the sea witches. * Connect with your inner mermaiden and transform your life. * Discover your mermaid archetype and tap in to your watery muse. * Work with the element of water in rituals and meditations. * Unlock the messages of the mermaids from literature and legend. * Visit the planet's most sacred healing wells and springs. * Hear from marine conservationists, dolphin advocates and free-spirited surfers. * Meet real-life mermaids, artists, writers and healers, and much, much more... Book excerpt: The Hedge Druid's Craft blends the traditions of Wicca, Witchcraft and Druidry into a spiritual path that uses the techniques of "hedge riding" to travel between the worlds, bringing back wisdom and enchantment into our everyday lives. It is about working with boundaries, with a foot in either world, living around the edges and working with liminal times and places. For those whose paths meander and often overlap, and those who would not be constrained nor confined by labels, yet who seek some definition, this book is for you. If you are interested in Witchcraft, Wicca or Druidry, this book will sing to your soul.
