The first of these is the Christian one which, taking its stand on the permanent needs of human nature, assumes the existence of a type of society which may be designated as the normal, because it most perfectly satisfies human needs, and therefore directs its policy towards the recovery and strengthening of everything in life and society that is to be regarded as normal.
