Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who or what are cherubim and seraphim? I never gave much thought to the question until I was teaching through the book of Ezekiel. Despite "scholars" defining them as angels, upon further study, it became clear that cherubim and seraphim are anything but angels. This book takes a deep dive into the real nature of these creatures by using all the biblical texts that are applicable to them in both Old and New Testaments. In the pursuit of exegeting the related Scriptures concerning this class of being, I was forced to consider other classes of beings that surround the throne of God together with historical events and places that are linked with the cherubim and seraphim, thus the subtitle to the book: "Heaven's Beasts and Other Assorted Beings, Events, and Places Associated with Them." This is why it was necessary to travel side paths that intersect with these creatures in question. Examples include cherubim and seraphim's role in the throne room of God, the Holy of Holies. Thus, I show their relation to the Ark of the Covenant, the mercy seat, and all creatures that attend God in this holy place. I also speak to the present heaven whom many assume is only spiritual, and yet the Scriptures give us a much different picture. Traveling further down this path, I then address the ultimate kingdom of God the Scriptures call the new heavens and new earth, which is the final destination for all believers in Christ. Upon discovering the real nature of the cherubim and seraphim, I also make the connection to what Ezekiel describes as the spirit of the living beings residing in their wheels and the spirit of earthly animals in which resides the "breath of life," revealing where that animal's spirit goes at death. Yes, this means all animals with the breath of life, including your pets, have a life after death. Is there a "doggie" heaven? This book answers that question and much more while focusing on the life of the cherubim and seraphim and their role in the kingdom of God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both collectively and individually we have a deep and abiding fascination with angels. This book explores depictions of angels in the visual arts and in scripture and associated apocryphal and mystical writings, specifically in the Hebrew and Christian Bibles and Islamic, Zoroastrian and other ancient and latter-day accounts. It examines the visual clues, artistic conventions and attributes that have been set down to help us to recognise angels in their particular roles and functions. Certain writings have had a particularly influential bearing on our understanding of angels. This text focuses on the hierarchies and orders proposed by the likes of Pseudo-Dionysius, St. Thomas Aquinas and others. In a new age of fascination with the metaphysical and supernatural (in film, television, popular mythology and literature), are we cementing or losing our connection with the authentic meaning and purpose that such vibrant and energised beings bring to our table? This book contains more than 30 illustrations in a central colour plates section. It also includes a useful glossary of terms and will prove a rich and enduring reference resource for libraries, as well as a stimulating go-to source for those interested in the world of angels and how human sensibilities and imaginative reasoning have enriched the subject, as a starting point for interreligious dialogue.

The series’ books include The 12th Planet, The Stairway to Heaven, The Wars of Gods and Men, The Lost Realms, When Time Began, The Cosmic Code, and The End of Days, all products of the author’s unmatched study of the ancient records of Sumer, Babylonia, Assyria, Israel, and Egypt and the civilizations of pre-Columbian America. Unearthing the hidden history of Earth and mankind, the series uses the past to unveil the meaning of the prophesied future. Zecharia Sitchin has created an encyclopedic compendium of the key figures, sites, concepts, and beliefs to provide a unique navigational tool through this entire opus. Vindicating the use of symbols and visual remains to investigate ancient religion, the authors employ iconographic evidence from around 1750 B.C.E. through the Persian period (c. 333 B.C.E.) to reconstruct the emergence and development of the Yahweh cult in relation to its immediate neighbors and competitors. They also fully explore whether female characteristics were present in the early Yahweh figure and how they might have evolved in Israelite religion. Keel and Uehlinger's major study marks the maturation of iconographical studies and affords an exciting glimpse into the vibrant religious life of ancient Canaan and Israel.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is designed to show some of the strongest proof that the scriptures are the inspired 'Word of God' and do it in the most simple way. The book starts out by showing about 18 Psalms that accurately predicted all of the major events of the 20th century by landing in the Psalm number that is the same year of the event, some even on the correct verse numbers of the month also! The Psalms are the 19th book of the Bible so Psalm 46 becomes 1946 with "He makes wars to cease" one year after 1945 and WWII. Psalm 87 as(1987) Saddam Hussein's month long (Babylonian) party with musicians invited from all over the world where Babylon is mentioned in Psalm 87:4 "I will make mention of Rahab and (Babylon); Psalm 87:7 with "As well the singers as the players on instruments shall be there." Other events predicted events are the Y2K problem of 1999 in Psalm 99:8 "thou tookest vengeance of their (inventions)"; the WTC attack, El Nino, Gulf War, and on and on, even future events are explored. Psalm 103 as 2003 talks about the "eagles" and those that are "oppressed" just like America the eagles setiing the oppressed free in Operation Iraqi Freedom. This book also shows that all of our modern day science 'constants' are encoded in the Psalms by a 'key phrase' in the Psalm of the same number. Psalm 19 electricity(heat sun, circuit), Psalm 27 light and 10^-27 power is a photon of light, Psalm 29 creation fire, Psalm 31 "speedy" electron and the "net", Psalm 38 "heavy" gravity and on up to 23 Psalms, not one misses! This book goes deep into the "Tabernacle of Moses", and the "Ark of the Covenant" showing that these Bible structures are actual models of modern day science. This book shows upwards of 600 key scriptures where the verse numbers equal the meaning of the verse. There is much more in the book as well as these subjects about the Bible's numbers. The book is guaranteed to please and show 'powerful' proof that the scriptures are the inspired Word of God, because this is a book of facts not speculation. All of modern day history and science will unravel from the Psalms in just the first 2 chapters alone, all landing on the correct verse numbers! Imagine playing a lotto where you have to get 40 numbers correct out of 150 numbers on the first try, because this is what the Psalms did 3,000 years ago! The odds are about 10^40th power to 1 (40 zeroes) that all of the proper "key expressions" keep landing in the Psalm of the same number as the year or a science constant number. I know that you will enjoy the book and be blown away by the '"proof". Don Christie

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1946 the first of the Dead Sea Scroll discoveries was made near the site of Qumran, at the northern end of the Dead Sea. Despite the much publicized delays in the publication and editing of the Scrolls, practically all of them had been made public by the time of the fiftieth anniversary of the first discovery. That occasion was marked by a spate of major publications that attempted to sum up the state of scholarship at the end of the twentieth century, including The Encyclopedia of the Dead Sea Scrolls (OUP 2000). These publications produced an authoritative synthesis to which the majority of scholars in the field subscribed, granted disagreements in detail. A decade or so later, The Oxford Handbook of the Dead Sea Scrolls has a different objective and character. It seeks to probe the main disputed issues in the study of the Scrolls. Lively debate continues over the archaeology and history of the site, the nature and identity of the sect, and its relation to the broader world of Second Temple Judaism and to later Jewish and Christian tradition. It is the Handbook's intention here to reflect on diverse opinions and viewpoints, highlight the points of disagreement, and point to promising directions for future research.

Book excerpt: Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven – Matthew 5:19 Every one of the Ten Commandments is relevant today. Some think of these commandments as the Law of Moses, now replaced by God's grace and mercy, but a closer look reveals that we can't willfully break a single one of the commandments and live. Every one of the commandments wholeheartedly obeyed will produce fruit of righteousness, peace, and spiritual prosperity. Society says "do whatever you want" but a careful study and application of this set of "life principles" will provide boundless fruit for the righteous. Originally written in the 1600's, Thomas Watson's commentary on the Ten Commandments is as relevant today as it was then, if not more so. The text was carefully updated for modern readers, with much care taken to convey the truth in Watson's writings in such a way that readers today can more easily understand his writing, and as such, more easily apply the truth to their own lives. May the Lord God of heaven and earth bless you richly as you read and obey!
