Book excerpt: Robert E Denton The Key To Enlightened Dreaming The Spiritual survival Guide Beyond 2012 ABOUT THE BOOKS The Key To Enlightened Dreaming was originally published in 1998 as a full color hardcover book with original spiritual artwork as well as B&W line drawings. It teaches the reader to break down dreams into their four main components so that the symbols may be ascertained to allow the dreamer to see the message within. At that time I was raising a young family and found that the dreams of a family unit are priceless in guiding young children and parents in the ways of Spirit so that God and our spiritual guides can have a direct contact to us and guide our daily interactions. In the fall of 2011 I began to have visions of white light that seemed to be directing me to write another book to warn the planet (particularly the United States of America) of impending natural disasters that are about to hit the earth. Even a date has been given as to when this will truly begin. These visions also told me that my techniques in reading the images of Spirit through Dreams, Waking Dreams, Visions, and Soul Experiences, would be the best form of protection and direction for those who could learn It's ways. As a result I have put the two books together, one written in 1998 and the other in the fall of 2011 through the spring of 2012 to release to the world to warn those in the path of the upcoming destrution and give them a means to protect themselves and their families through this direct connection to spirit. I would like to sell the two books as one with full color art for 9.99...

Book excerpt: Anthony Gottlieb’s landmark The Dream of Reason and its sequel challenge Bertrand Russell’s classic as the definitive history of Western philosophy. Western philosophy is now two and a half millennia old, but much of it came in just two staccato bursts, each lasting only about 150 years. In his landmark survey of Western philosophy from the Greeks to the Renaissance, The Dream of Reason, Anthony Gottlieb documented the first burst, which came in the Athens of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. Now, in his sequel, The Dream of Enlightenment, Gottlieb expertly navigates a second great explosion of thought, taking us to northern Europe in the wake of its wars of religion and the rise of Galilean science. In a relatively short period—from the early 1640s to the eve of the French Revolution—Descartes, Hobbes, Spinoza, Locke, Leibniz, and Hume all made their mark. The Dream of Enlightenment tells their story and that of the birth of modern philosophy. As Gottlieb explains, all these men were amateurs: none had much to do with any university. They tried to fathom the implications of the new science and of religious upheaval, which led them to question traditional teachings and attitudes. What does the advance of science entail for our understanding of ourselves and for our ideas of God? How should a government deal with religious diversity—and what, actually, is government for? Such questions remain our questions, which is why Descartes, Hobbes, and the others are still pondered today. Yet it is because we still want to hear them that we can easily get these philosophers wrong. It is tempting to think they speak our language and live in our world; but to understand them properly, we must step back into their shoes. Gottlieb puts readers in the minds of these frequently misinterpreted figures, elucidating the history of their times and the development of scientific ideas while engagingly explaining their arguments and assessing their legacy in lively prose. With chapters focusing on Descartes, Hobbes, Spinoza, Locke, Pierre Bayle, Leibniz, Hume, Rousseau, and Voltaire—and many walk-on parts—The Dream of Enlightenment creates a sweeping account of what the Enlightenment amounted to, and why we are still in its debt.

Book excerpt: "His book...supplant[s] all others, even the immensely successful History of Western Philosophy by Bertrand Russell."—A. C. Grayling Already a classic, this landmark study of early Western thought now appears in a new edition with expanded coverage of the Middle Ages. This landmark study of Western thought takes a fresh look at the writings of the great thinkers of classic philosophy and questions many pieces of conventional wisdom. The book invites comparison with Bertrand Russell's monumental History of Western Philosophy, "but Gottlieb's book is less idiosyncratic and based on more recent scholarship" (Colin McGinn, Los Angeles Times). A New York Times Notable Book, a Los Angeles Times Best Book, and a Times Literary Supplement Best Book of 2001.

In today's society there is an esoteric 20 percent group of successful dreamers and thinkers who understand the workings of this positive "spiritual law," and use it to manage their personal problems, achieving their dreams and goals by using only their own resources. You can now step away from the "trivial many" and become a part of the "vital few" who have it all. You will find the answers you seek in Dream It First: The 80/20 Law to Manifestation of Dreams and Goals So dreamers, let's get started! About the Author: Jacqueline R. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lucid dreaming like you've never seen before. The complete alchemical elixir: Transform Lucid Dreaming into Non-dual Dream Yoga Lucid dreaming is an ancient art that has been practiced for over two millennia. However, throughout the eons, the essence of lucid dreaming seems to have been forgotten. Instead of being a path toward self-transcendence, lucid dreaming became the goal-and its biggest treasure was lost. A plague of thoughts and conceptual analysis posing as "genuine knowledge"; an entanglement in old dogmatic traditions and lineages filled with rhetoric that reinforces the ego narrative and sense of separation; or a general lack of an enlightenment-oriented non-dual perspective-these are common symptoms in many lucid dreaming books and teachings. But this work is not a common lucid dreaming book; it is for those on the path to enlightenment-it elevates this ancient art into its rightful place. What you will find in the book: Rare Lucid Dreaming and Dream Yoga wisdom and insights not found anywhere else. Instructions on how to have and induce a lucid dream. Practices on how to purify and reprogram your subconscious mind through Lucid Dreaming. Learning how to interact with dream characters and archetypal figures and how they can help you in your spiritual path. The knowledge of how to transform nightmares into illuminating dreams. Learning how to perform any type of spiritual practice within the dream state. Teachings on how to elevate the practice of lucid dreaming into non-dual Dream Yoga to realize your true nature (enlightenment). Revealing how to awaken and become lucid in the dream of "real life." The Transcendence of the post-death Bardo state. Unforgettable vivid dreams and the increased chance of experiencing spontaneous lucid dreams, as your mind soaks in this book's wisdom and energy. And much more. More than being just a guide to discover lucid dreaming, this book is a guide to discover and transcend the lucid dreamer-a guide to Self-discovery and Self-realization. Every night you are resuscitated from the darkness of sleep by the light of dreams. Will you continue to neglect this other facet of your existence and sleep through them with ignorance, or will you awaken to the infinite potential that the dream state can bring-an awakening into the eternal state of unfathomable bliss? Only you can decide. The opportunity? It is in your hands, right here, right now.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume brings together eleven case studies that address how the night became visible in the long and global eighteenth century through different mediums and in different geographical contexts. Situated on the eve of the introduction of artificial lighting, the long eighteenth century has much to say about night’s darkness and brilliance. The eighteenth century has been bound up epistemologically with images of light, reason, and order. Night and day, light and darkness, reason and mystery, however, are not necessarily at odds in the eighteenth century. In their analysis of narratives, poetry, urban spaces, music, the visual arts, and geological phenomena, the essays provide various frameworks to examine the representation, treatment, and meaning of the enlightened night. The transnational and multidisciplinary nature of the volume presents a survey of the research currently being done in the field of the long eighteenth-century night. This collection contributes to an ongoing exercise that questions the accepted definitions of the Enlightenment, and by bringing Eighteenth-Century Studies into dialogue with Night Studies, it enriches the critical conversation between these lines of research.

Book excerpt: Understanding the Dreams You Dream: Biblical Keys for Hearing God's Voice in the Night not only provides insight into your dreams and life, but also includes a comprehensive dictionary of dream symbols! You will be guided through the complex world of dreams by a minister with decades of experience receiving, understanding, and interpreting dreams of his own and for others. Through Scripture-based meditation, much can be understood about your dreams; but many Christians don't know how to meditate. This problem is addressed in three different ways: Specific, detailed directions are given on how and upon what to meditate. Personal examples of dreams from the author's own experiences. Practical dictionary of symbol definitions is included. This book presents both normal and not-so-normal dream situations. You will learn that to apply only one type of dream interpretation to all dreams is restricting each symbol to only one possible definition, which is incorrect. And you will learn how to tell the difference between a dream from God-and those from evil sources.

Book excerpt: "Wendy Doniger O'Flaherty . . . weaves a brilliant analysis of the complex role of dreams and dreaming in Indian religion, philosophy, literature, and art. . . . In her creative hands, enchanting Indian myths and stories illuminate and are illuminated by authors as different as Aeschylus, Plato, Freud, Jung, Kurl Gödel, Thomas Kuhn, Borges, Picasso, Sir Ernst Gombrich, and many others. This richly suggestive book challenges many of our fundamental assumptions about ourselves and our world."—Mark C. Taylor, New York Times Book Review "Dazzling analysis. . . . The book is firm and convincing once you appreciate its central point, which is that in traditional Hindu thought the dream isn't an accident or byway of experience, but rather the locus of epistemology. In its willful confusion of categories, its teasing readiness to blur the line between the imagined and the real, the dream actually embodies the whole problem of knowledge. . . . [O'Flaherty] wants to make your mental flesh creep, and she succeeds."—Mark Caldwell, Village Voice
