Book excerpt: About the importance of specific partnership activities, and a significant strengthening of their efficacy beliefs, upon completing internship. However, preservice teachers' beliefs at the conclusion of internship were not related to either the SES of their school sites, nor the amount of partnership activity they attempted and/or observed. At post-test, participants were asked to describe the most important lessons they learned in internship. Drawing from the thematic analysis of this data, it is suggested that preservice teachers' beliefs may have changed in response to experiencing the wide-ranging positive effects of partnering with families and the realization that parents do want to be involved in their children's education.
