He is an Italian male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is a clean-cut college graduate who is employed by a mob boss. Tonys invitation to play in a baseball game has a huge impact on his future. The game concludes when his team is attacked by a bloodthirsty gang. Tony escapes the gang of thugs by hiding in the backseat of a car that belongs to a mob boss, Mr. Guidice. He takes a liking to Tony and provides him with a menial but well-paying job. A mob hit that goes wrong results in a conversation between the two that opens the door to a bizarre arrangement. Tony is employed by Mr. Guidice to provide plans for murders that look like accidents. He needs a cover to hide his involvement in the scheme, so he poses as a consultant in a small out-of-the-way town. Along the way, he meets an intelligent, beautiful college girl named Kate, with whom he falls deeply in love. He manages to keep the criminal part of his life well hidden from others, especially from the love of his life. His relationship with Kate has its ups and downs and eventually falls apart. That doesnt stop him from revisiting his past years after he flees from his mob boss and his job as consultant.

Book excerpt: Prompted by the overt omission of Muncie's black community from the famous study by Lynd and Lynd, Middletown: A Study in Modern American Culture, the authors uncover the neglected part of the story of Middletown, a well-known pseudonym for the Midwestern city of Muncie, Indiana. It is a uniquely collaborative field study involving local experts, ethnographers, and teams of college students. The book, The Other Side of Middletown, and DVD, Middletown Redux, are valuable resources for community research. Sponsored by the Virginia B. Ball Center for Creative Inquiry, Muncie, Indiana.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Charles Washington, a college grad brimming with energy and idealism and promise, is swept up in the Compassion Boom. At the height of the financial meltdown, he spurns the prescribed job market to take a job with a not-for-profit, sacrificing salary for the selfless mission of his first post-college employer. Charles is out to save the world—the world of fraternities! AMERICAN FRATERNITY MAN is an intimate portrait of a young man struggling to become the right kind of professional, while coming to terms with the harsh financial and political realities behind the ambitious mission statements and corporate philosophies. Set within a broad panoramic of the national fraternity world, AMERICAN FRATERNITY MAN offers a humanizing look at the individuals who live and breathe Greek Life, while also giving an unrivaled glimpse at the power, potential, and absurdity of the National Fraternity/Sorority business. Through both text and illustrations, Nathan Holic offers the very human story of one young man's longing for morality and purpose in a world he simply has not been prepared to understand. "The culture of Greek life is both skewered and embraced in this take-no-prisoners coming of age novel from debut author Nathan Holic. Here, you'll meet one character who has reached the conclusion that goodness is just and that evil is easy to spot. But for Charles Washington, the dynamic hero of this compelling story, right and wrong are slippery things. In the end, it's a pleasure to tumble into Charles' world, even as we watch that world pulled out from under him. AMERICAN FRATERNITY MAN is, at once, satire and seriousness itself. But, more than anything, it is a compulsively readable book, a thrilling ride, beginning to end."—David James Poissant "Nathan Holic writes with the precision and confidence of a true badass. Hide your valuables and DIG IN."—Lindsey Hunter

James struggled to find reality in the midst of mind-boggling circumstances while simultaneously trying to save the nation from the impending war that threatens the country. Can Amphitptertic reforge the alliance that the king always wanted? But more importantly, can the Changelings, an outcast race who once betrayed the humans, be trusted again?
