Book Synopsis Sweeter than Honey by : Christopher J. H. Wright
Download or read book Sweeter than Honey written by Christopher J. H. Wright and published by Langham Preaching Resources. This book was released on 2015-02-14 with total page 277 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many preachers steer clear of the Old Testament because they feel it is outdated in light of the New Testament and difficult to expound. On the other hand some preachers will preach from the Old Testament frequently but fail to handle it correctly, and end up preaching nothing but legalistic rules or symbolic lessons for our spiritual life. In this book, Christopher J. H. Wright encourages preachers not to ignore the Old Testament! It is the Word of God, it lays the foundation for our faith and it was the Bible that was read and used by Jesus. It is the first part of the great biblical story, from creation to new creation. And because it is the journey that leads to Christ, it is, in fact, part of our story too. Looking first at why we should preach from the Old Testament, the author then moves on to showing the reader how to handle different kinds of literature in it. He guides us through the History, Law, Prophets, Psalms and Wisdom Literature of the Old Testament. Interspersed with detailed checklists, suggested exercises and specimen sermons, this is a very practical handbook for anyone committed to authentic Biblical preaching.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One book or three books: My main interesting is to help deaf, hard of hearing, hearing people understand the Word of God and to apply to their own life with God’s help. It also gives us as well to the hearing people who need encouragement, help and inspire in the Word of God and that the Word of God is for them to receive His Word by faith. My main reason of writing the Trinity to show the example of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as one and believe that God is One. I also write Trinity for various reasons and put down Bible verses to help match the Old Testament and New Testament that speak the same thing to show them the Bible in fact is real. God’s Word is very real. I write the main points because I have heard in the past about their belief, their teaching, their faith in God, and I am willing to write down what they say and that the Bible has all the answer to our need and purpose. I have studied the Bible for forty-five years seeking answers and be abled to explain better from God’s teaching; from God’s Word. Whenever I hear people talk about their faith in God, I write down Bible verses to help inspire their life positive. It would help all of us to grow in grace through our Lord Jesus Christ. He has the answer to all of our problem, My main points is to help them know that they can be saved through Jesus Christ by faith in Him alone. Only Him shall we be saved. Be Blessed!!! Evangelist John H. Manigo I Corinthians 6:19-20

Download or read book Midrash Tanḥuma: Genesis written by and published by KTAV Publishing House, Inc.. This book was released on 1989 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tanhuma is one of the jewels of midrash literature. As one of the Yelammedenu midrashim, it is less diffuse than Genesis Rabbah, and its units are shorter than those of the Pesikta. It thus strikes a balance between the jumble of the one and the long sermons of the other. Just over a century ago, Solomon Buber published a new version of the Tanhuma based on an Oxford manuscript which is substantially different from the more common printed versions. It is this version or one very close to it which Rashi had before him and whose interpretations be often commends and recommends. Despite its importance and appeal, no version of Midrash Tanhuma has ever been translated into English. This volume is the first in a series which will bring the riches of the Buber edition to the English reader.
