Book Synopsis A Bible Story Called Easter and the Birth of Christianity: Appendix A - English - Revised Edition by : Lawrence Glasser

This book was released on 2020-12-31 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Appendix A Book Template In the fall of 2011, an idea/concept began formulating for a book series covering the events of the most significant eight weeks of Christianity’s beginnings – events comprising core components of Christian theology – Jesus Christ’s final Passover Week through the following Pentecost observance (when the first 3,000 Christians were baptized, after hearing the apostles’ speaking in the listeners’ native languages.) Using a “Harmony of the Gospels” matrix format, the intent is to compile a single chronological story derived from the endings of the four gospels and the first two chapters of Acts. (See Table of Contents page showing the 655 selected Bible verses.) The four matrix columns contain the Bible verses from (1) Matthew, (2) Mark, (3) Luke, and (4) John, then Acts. Where the verses from multiple gospels are describing the same (sub)event, the narratives are placed in horizontal parallel alignment on the page ( “Gospels’ Comparative Text Alignment” [G’CTA] ). To produce a single chronological story, discrepancies in event sequences in the four gospels had to be resolved. After careful analysis, the publishing editor had to make a subjective decision as to the sequence the events would be ordered in the text. (Those column verses presented out of sequence are boxed in an orange double border.) A small number of the selected 655 Bible gospel verses are not present in the earliest surviving gospel manuscripts. The text of those passages are italicized and in green font. A suggestion to illustrate the books (to be created from this derivative work compilation book template) was implemented after finding the 365 public domain watercolor images created by James Tissot in the late 1800’s. We selected 63 images (from volumes III & IV of The Life of Our Saviour Jesus Christ published in the USA in 1899) to be placed adjacent to the corresponding Bible verses in the text. (Bible verses illustrated by the adjacent images are double-underlined in the matrix table.) The resulting chronological G’CTA matrix table was then subdivided into 78 “events” (with author/editor-generated event descriptions) under the six section headings identified in the Table of Contents.

Download or read book Adam to Christ written by Wallace Evenson and published by . This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Adam to Christ is a study on the genealogy of Jesus Christ from the beginning of Creation. It is one of the most accurate accounts on His lineage, and includes the dating of each generation all the way back to Adam. A careful examination of all the numbers pertaining to the lineage has been made and a brief explanation is given on the life and times of all the people mentioned. The continuity of names in the lineage is unbroken as well as all the dating for the sixty generations. The Bible is the only source of information for all dates. The six days of Creation are also explained as the Bible reveals the step-by-step account of placing the sun, the moon, and all the stars in thier proper places, and then making mankind along with the animal kingdom. This is a break-through in Biblical dating as we see the cross references prove themselves out to be accurate. May God bless you as you use this guide. It will never be out of date!

Download or read book Creation to Revelation written by Chatham and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2006-09-18 with total page 193 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We know the stories -- Adam and Eve, David and Goliath, Jesus feeding the five thousand. We know the verses -- John 3:16, Psalm 23, 1 Corinthians 13. But how many of us can take the separate pieces and fit them into the Bible as a whole? With the common practice of taking passages out of context, even active Bible readers tackling a chapter or more every day can easily lose sight of the whole biblical story.James Chatham, a beloved minister and Bible teacher, has spent decades offering the panorama of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation to those who want to understand God's Word more fully. He now spreads the wealth in this practical volume. In twenty-six short segments designed to facilitate Bible study, Creation to Revelation weaves the disparate stories and familiar verses into a complete narrative and thematic framework, taking "the whole counsel of God" into account. Pertinent sidebars, carefully designed discussion questions, and two helpful appendixes -- a chronology of the Bible's story and select daily Bible readings -- enhance Chatham's overview.Extremely accessible to a wide audience, this pithy book is meant not to replace the Bible but rather to lure us into reading it -- and to help us better understand its message.
Book Synopsis Genesis, Abijah, and the Birth of Christ by : Timothy L Norris
Download or read book Genesis, Abijah, and the Birth of Christ written by Timothy L Norris and published by . This book was released on 2021-02-17 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The birth of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of human history. Our years are numbered in accordance with the eras BC and AD signifying Before Christ and Anno Domini, i.e., "in the year of the Lord." We celebrate the biggest holiday of the year in remembrance of His birth but amazingly, we still do not know the actual day He was born. For over two thousand years now, the date has remained shrouded in mystery. However, God may have provided for us just enough information to untangle this longstanding riddle. Sifting through that information will be the focus of this book. Using a combination of secular history, archaeology, astronomy, and Holy Scripture, we will develop a comprehensive theory, piece by piece, that supports the chronology for the birth, ministry, and crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth. The evidence will be built on a firm foundation starting with God's declaration in Genesis 1:14 that among other things, the heavens are for signs. The famous star that "stood over where the child was," or the "Star of Bethlehem" is one of those signs. Step by step, we will sort through the evidence to build our case one layer at a time, comparing our theory and chronology with secular history, supporting our belief that God's only Son truly walked among us, and that the Bible has provided for us an actual historically accurate account of the life of Jesus of Nazareth.

Book Synopsis Seven Days That Divide the World by : John C. Lennox
Download or read book Seven Days That Divide the World written by John C. Lennox and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2011-08-23 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What did the writer of Genesis mean by “the first day”? Is it a literal week or a series of time periods? If I believe that the earth is 4.5 billion years old, am I denying the authority of Scripture? In response to the continuing controversy over the interpretation of the creation narrative in Genesis, John Lennox proposes a succinct method of reading and interpreting the first chapters of Genesis without discounting either science or Scripture. With examples from history, a brief but thorough exploration of the major interpretations, and a look into the particular significance of the creation of human beings, Lennox suggests that Christians can heed modern scientific knowledge while staying faithful to the biblical narrative. He moves beyond a simple response to the controversy, insisting that Genesis teaches us far more about the God of Jesus Christ and about God’s intention for creation than it does about the age of the earth. With this book, Lennox offers a careful yet accessible introduction to a scientifically-savvy, theologically-astute, and Scripturally faithful interpretation of Genesis.
