Several years earlier, a terrible event shattered their idyllic family life and their future prospects. Maggie is resilient and will do what she must to protect her sister Violet. Still, the loss of her parents weighs heavily on her heart as she begins to wonder if what happened that day on the lake…might not have been an accident. When wealthy inventor and industrialist William Harcourt dies, his son and Maggie’s estranged childhood friend, Nathaniel, returns from his time in the Royal Navy and inherits his father’s vast estate, Morningside Manor. He also assumes partial control of his father’s engineering company and the duty of repaying an old debt to the Lounsbury family. But years of separation between Nate and Maggie have taken a toll, and Maggie struggles to trust her old friend. Can Maggie let go of the resentment that keeps her from forgiving Nate—and reconciling with God? Will the search for the truth about her parents’ death draw the two friends closer or leave them both with broken hearts?

Book excerpt: Sunshine Before the Dawn by Judy Satori June 2012 ISBN 978-0-9856730-0-0 Sunshine Before the Dawn reads and appears like work of fiction, but it’s not! The author, Judy Satori is an energy healer and spiritual teacher. She speaks and transmits a higher-dimensional Language of Light. For many years she has worked with beings from other worlds and other dimensions of reality and it is they who have telepathically transmitted this inter-dimensional love and adventure story. Chapter one begins around one hundred thousand years ago, as the Galactic Council of our Milky Way Galaxy meet on the star Antares to discuss a problem concerning Earth. They are concerned that the beings of Earth cannot move beyond their third dimensional confinement, and so evolve in consciousness. They propose that an upgraded version of the human being be created, with each of the Star Nations within the 12 dimensions of what is known as the lower heavenly worlds, contributing an aspect of their genetic code to the new hu-man. ‘Hu’ is a sound that means God and it is determined by the Galactic Council that the new hu-man being of the Earth be a spiritual being, to be given the genetic capacity to one day evolve to move beyond the physical confinement of Earth, and traverse all 12 dimensions of reality in what is called the lower heavenly worlds. A woman from the Galactic Council, Essayenya from the star Sirius, is tasked with the responsibility of working together with a team from Sirius and Lyra, as well as with the Elohim, the creator aspect of God, to create the new prototype hu-man to be seeded on the Earth. Essayenya, from fifth dimensional Sirius is in love with Mosteenya, the leader of the Galactic Council, from 12th dimensional Lyra, but because of the differences in vibration between these two dimensional worlds they seem destined to remain apart. Essayenya and others of her team from Sirius, journey to Lyra to work together with the Lyran women, who weave the Dreamtime Strands of Creation. They are to decide how the new hu-man should best be created. Romance blossoms between Essayenya and Mosteenya, but it seems they can never be together, unless Essayenya comes to Earth, to take into her own soul DNA the new hu-man genetic code. This story has been brought through from higher-dimensional spiritual beings at this time to help us all understand our Lineage of Light, and that we all came here from the stars. All human beings on the Earth now hold the more advanced 12 strand DNA hu-man genome that was created around 100,000 years ago. This DNA capacity has until now only been potential. It was not able to be activated while the Earth remained within a third dimensional energy domain. However, it has long been prophesized that in December 2012, the Earth will be advanced to a fifth dimensional, faster pulsating consciousness and vibration. This shift in frequency will trigger the activation of previously dormant DNA potential and a massive consciousness upgrade for Earth and her people. As Earth comes of age, we, who once came to Earth from various Star Nations, are being triggered to remember where we came from and why we are here on Earth. As soul DNA memory is reactivated, people everywhere are being empowered to step into greater personal and spiritual mastery and actualize dormant soul potential to together create a new world order of peace and love. Sunshine Before the Dawn is a novel. It is an exciting, action packed mystery and adventure story, but also includes much previously unknown spiritual information. Essayenya, the Siriun leader of the team tasked with creating the new hu-man specie journeys to Earth, to the ancient lands of Atlantis and Mu. There in the sacred place of prayer for the people of Mu, a land deep in the southern seas of the Earth, she is given a ‘key’, spiritual energy words that are only NOW, at the end of four Great Ages of Earth time of around 100,000 years, being triggered to come forth.

Book excerpt: This is the third and final volume of the complete annotated correspondence of the extraordinary nun, Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179). One of the most remarkable women of her day, Hildegard was, for more than 30 years, an unflinching advisor and correspondent of all levels of church and society, from popes and kings to ordinary lay persons, from Jerusalem to England. This present volume (letters 218-390) is noteworthy for its large collection of letters to a non-ecclesiastical audience, and because it contains letters not just to such high-ranking notables as Frederick Barbarossa, King Henry II of England, or Eleanor or Acquitaine, but also to common, ordinary individuals of no importance whatsoever, save that they received a letter from Hildegard of Bingen. Addressing matters as diverse as the "humors" and their relation to health and salvation, the fate of departed souls, the frequency and horror of homicide in her age, a means of exorcising malignant spirits, an effective kind of incantation to alleviate nightmares, the proper attitude and response to the fact of excommunication, and male infidelity in marriage, Hildegard provides a unique view of the twelfth century world. Here also are found compositions in epistolary style that are actually sermons, mediations, prayers, or treatises on a wide range of theological topics, such as prophecy, celebration of the Mass, the Lord's Prayer, the creation, and the fall of Adam. Like previous volumes, the translation follows the most recent definitive Latin text, in which the letters are organized according to the rank and station of Hildegard's correspondents.

After a "chance" first meeting and a Thanksgiving snowstorm, Quinn is drawn into the Spencer family's warm and loving world, and she begins to believe she might find freedom in their friendship. The man Quinn helped put behind bars has recently been released, however, and she fears her past will endanger the entire Spencer family. As the danger heightens, she determines to leave town for the sake of the people who have come to mean so much to her. Book excerpt: According to author Hassell Bullock, "No collection of poems has ever exercised as much influence on the Western world as the Book of Psalms." The attraction for Jews, Christians, and others is surely the personal element that pervades these poems, which describe the human situation in all its complexity. Though the Psalms are perhaps the most familiar portion of the Hebrew Bible, they are also among the most difficult to interpret. As a result, Bullock has created this guide to introduce students to the study and interpretation of the Psalms. Encountering the Book of Psalms begins by examining literary and hermeneutical dimensions. Bullock discusses the nature, structure, and authorship of the Psalter and provides readers with specific principles for interpretation. He goes on to examine the use of Psalms in worship from the ancient world to the twenty-first century. He further explores how the psalmists used historical reflection to serve their theological purposes, and he concludes by investigating different types of psalms (e.g., praise, lament, and wisdom). Like other volumes in the Encountering Biblical Studies series, Encountering the Book of Psalms is designed for classroom use and includes a number of helpful features, including chapter objectives and outlines, sidebars, charts, and illustrations.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This issue of The Ministry of the Word includes the first nine messages of the 2007 spring term of the full-time training in Anaheim, California. The general subject of this series of messages is "The Believers." Collectively, the believers are one of the seven persons in the eternal economy of God. The first three persons in God's economy are the three of the Divine Trinity--the Father, the Son, and the Spirit. The fourth person, composed of the believers as a collective entity, is in the middle of this sequence of seven persons. The believers then become a corporate person--the church, the kingdom, and the New Jerusalem, which are the remaining three persons. The believers constitute a certain class or category of people who have received mercy from God to believe into the Son of God and in His redemptive work, particularly in His resurrection. First Peter 1:8 says, "Whom having not seen, you love; into whom though not seeing Him at present, yet believing, you exult with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory." In many ways, this verse is the theme for this line of ministry on the believers. We are those who exult with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory, and the Lord, as the Author and Perfecter of our faith, will take us on from one degree of enjoyment to the next until we reach the highest enjoyment of the Lord. The believers are the happiest and most joyful people on the earth because God is pleased with them (Heb. 11:6). Last of all, we include a report of the 2008 Chinese-speaking Perfecting Training in Plano, Texas and a follow-up conference in Irving, Texas.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: They say it's lonely at the top. And it can be even lonelier when you are almost at the top. Church leaders who hold second-chair positions are under tremendous pressure. They are expected to do their jobs and provide leadership but to defer to the top leader too. It's a demanding balancing act. How can they lead effectively while serving under someone else's leadership? Leading from the Second Chair offers an invaluable resource to leaders who serve in second- (and third- and fourth-) chair roles, enabling them to become more productive, proactive, and fulfilled. The book reveals the paradoxes of second chair leadership. These leaders must be subordinate to the top leader yet lead in their own right. They should be deep in their expertise but wide in perspective. And they must be content in their jobs yet remain enthusiastic about their dreams for the future. Mike Bonem and Roger Patterson share their own and others' experiences of failure and success in this vital role. They offer support and practical advice for reshaping the way second-chair leaders can serve well and improve the overall performance of their church or organization. Leading from the Second Chair equips readers with the positive attitudes, skills, and strategies needed to become powerful leaders who will survive and thrive in God's service.
