Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second generation Range Rovers were conceived before the BMW take-over, as was the agreement to use the BMW diesel engine. Sales were strong and it quickly out-sold its predecessor. Limited editions and special editions were introduced periodically. From mid-1988 the two V8 engines were re-worked to improve drivability. A minor facelift in 2000 was the last real change before production ceased in 2001. Neglected vehicles can be very expensive to rectify. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, technical and specification data, new model introductions, long term tests, buying second hand. Models covered include: Vitesse, SE, HSE, TD, Overfinch, Callaway, Vogue.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The second major face-lift in the life of the Land Rover was introduced with the Series III model in 1971. Production figures cannot be confirmed but it is thought that around 440,000 were built between 1971 and 1985. As this was a bad time for British Leyland most of the profits went into the car division and few changes were made. Even when Land Rover became a separate operating division in 1978 it took until 1983 for a replacement to be produced. Not every market took to the new vehicles so the Series III remained in low volume production until 1985. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, specifications and technical data, off-road reports, long terms tests, driver's reports, plus advice on buying a used example. Types covered include: 4 & 6-cylinder, 2.6 station wagon, SWB, V8, LWB, Diesel, Pick-up, 3/4 ton, 3S Station Wagon, 3-9D, County.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the start of this book the Range Rover was already 15 years old. During the next 10 years it was developed as it had never been developed before. Firstly with refinements to the V8 and then a turbo diesel. Later came the 3.9 V8 and a larger turbo diesel and then economy in the shape of the Tdi turbo diesel. Meanwhile the Range Rover was gradually going up-market into the luxury bracket. Many of these changes came from US demand where it was a great success, including the development of a long-wheelbase version. The second generation was announced in 1994 but the original continued until its 25th anniversary in 1995. This is a book of contemporary road and comparison tests, new model introductions, driving impressions, design, off road, history. Models covered include:- Vogue, Vogue automatic, Janspeed, Turbo Diesel, Highline, Vogue Se, 3.9, RoverCraft 4.5, CSK, County SE, Vogue LSE, LWB, Tdi.

This book was released on 2006 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most readers, especially those with car loans or home mortgages, know about "collateral"--property that the lender can take away from the borrower in the event that the borrower defaults. In low/middle income countries, it is understood that conservative lenders exclude firms from credit markets with their excessive collateral requirements. Usually, this is because only some property is acceptable as collateral: large holdings of urban real estate and, sometimes, new motor vehicles. Microenterprises, SMEs, and the poor have little of this property but they do have an array of productive assets that could easily be harnessed to serve as collateral. It is only the legal framework which prevents firms from using these assets to secure loans. In countries with reformed laws governing collateral, property such as equipment, inventory, accounts receivable, livestock are considered excellent collateral. This book aims to better equip project managers to implement reforms to the legal and institutional framework for collateral (secured transactions). It discusses the importance of movable property as a source of collateral for firms, the relationship between the legal framework governing movable assets and the financial sector consequences for firms (better loan terms, increased access, more competitive financial sector), and how reforms can be put in place to change the lending environment.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This open access book focuses on Switzerland-based medium-sized companies with a longstanding export tradition and a proven dominance in global niche markets. Based upon in-depth documentation and analysis of 36 Swiss companies over their entire history, an expert team of authors presents several parallels in the pathways and success factors which allowed these firms to become dominant and operate from a high-cost location such as Switzerland. The book enhances these insights by providing detailed company profiles documenting the company history, development, and how their relevant global niche positions were reached. Readers will benefit from these profiles as they compile a diverse selection of industries, mainly active within the B2B sector, with mostly mature companies (60 years to older than 100 years since founding) and different types of ownership structures including family firms. ‘Masterpieces of Swiss Entrepreneurship’ brings unique learning opportunities to owners and leaders of SMEs in Switzerland and elsewhere. Findings are based on detailed bottom-up research of 36 companies -- without any preconceived notions. The book is both conceptual and practical. It fosters understanding for different choices in development pathways and management practices. Matti Alahuhta, Chairman DevCo Partners, ex-CEO Kone, Board member of several global listed companies, Helsinki, Finland Start-up entrepreneurs need proven models from industry which demonstrate the various paths to success. “Masterpieces of Swiss Entrepreneurship” provides deep insights highlighting these models and the important trade-offs entrepreneurial teams must consider when choosing the path of high growth or of maximum control, as they are often mutually exclusive. Advanced Automotive Fault Diagnosis is the only book to treat automotive diagnostics as a science rather than a check-list procedure. Each chapter includes basic principles and examples of a vehicle system followed by the appropriate diagnostic techniques, complete with useful diagrams, flow charts, case studies and self-assessment questions. The book will help new students develop diagnostic skills and help experienced technicians improve even further. This new edition is fully updated to the latest technological developments. Two new chapters have been added – On-board diagnostics and Oscilloscope diagnostics – and the coverage has been matched to the latest curricula of motor vehicle qualifications, including: IMI and C&G Technical Certificates and NVQs; Level 4 diagnostic units; BTEC National and Higher National qualifications from Edexcel; International Motor Vehicle qualifications such as C&G 3905; and ASE certification in the USA.
