Book excerpt: Excerpt from Proceeding of the Eleventh Annual Meeting of the American Association of Farmers' Institute Workers: Held at Baton Rouge, La., November 12-14, 1906 Institute work in Connecticut for the season of 1905 - 6 has been conducted as for several years past. By the three separate agricultural organizations, viz, the State board of agriculture, the State pomological society, and the State dairyman's association. In the case of the two latter organizations, with in creased State funds at their command, more institutes have been held than in previous years, the work has extended over a wider territory, and a larger num ber have been reached and benefited. The institute work of the Pomological Society has been carried on in all of the eight counties of the State and with very satisfactory, results. Most of the meetings are in cooperation with the local granges and for the most part' are held in series of three or four each week. The aim has been to reach those communities remote from the railroads and where institutions have not been a frequent occurrence. In a few instances evening sessions have been tried, but these do not seem to be as popular or as well attended as we could wish.
