Book Synopsis Preparing for Tantra by : Rob Preece
Download or read book Preparing for Tantra written by Rob Preece and published by Shambhala Publications. This book was released on 2011-09-16 with total page 224 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The preliminary practices of Tantra aren't a hurdle to be gotten through in order to get somewhere else; they're an extraordinarily rich collection of practices which have much to offer as a means of cultivating and maturing the practitioner's psychological ground. They can enable experiences to unfold, and they can clear the way when there seem to be problems or hindrances practitioners are struggling with. In Preparing for Tantra, Preece draws on his experience as a Tantric Buddhist practitioner, meditation teacher, and psychotherapist to explain how to make the preliminary practices psychologically meaningful and spiritually transformative. He examines each of the practices with an eye to revealing how they may be used to heal and transform psychological trauma and offers practical suggestions for integrating them into daily life—as well as ensuring that practitioners are prepared psychologically, emotionally, and energetically to start out safely on the tantric path. Preparing for Tantra is an accessible guidebook for engaging in ngondro, the preliminary practices that are done before engaging in a long tantric retreat. These practices are also powerful tools for purifying negativities and alleviating guilt, healing difficult experiences, and enriching our minds with goodness so that we will be able to progress in our Dharma practice and gain realizations of the path.
Book Synopsis Preparing to Lead by : Patricia M. Virella
Download or read book Preparing to Lead written by Patricia M. Virella and published by IAP. This book was released on 2023-09-01 with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Popular education press and scholarly conversations have focused on the impact of COVID-19 on various aspects of school leadership during the induction process and after. However, voices heard directly from the students are often left out or not heard from in a comprehensive oral historical account. We argue that while the attention is deservingly placed on principals and superintendents in schools leading through the pandemic crisis, there has been less dialogue about the impact of COVID-19 on aspiring leaders who will take the helm amid the lingering crisis. Focusing on this population is explicitly significant as COVID-19 has disrupted and traumatized aspiring leaders who will begin to leave the principalship or superintendency en masse. The novelty and longevity of COVID-19 have also upended schools across the country. Thus, we are left at the moment when although many students are preparing to be school leaders, those preparing them are not expected to stay. Preparing to Lead – Narratives of Aspiring School Leaders in a "Post"-COVID World focuses on how graduate students in educational leadership preparation programs are experiencing their simultaneous preparation for leadership roles in the K-12 setting while working in schools in several districts across the United States. We approach this book as a way to elevate the voices of aspiring leaders who will enter the field in the current crisis-laden context. Chapter authors discuss both the challenges and opportunities they have experienced due to being in the dual role of aspiring leaders and current educators. Chapter authors also provide poignant feedback on how leadership preparation programs can assist their development as leaders and infuse equity-oriented approaches that mirror their own identity and the educational landscape they will lead in.

Download or read book The First Forty Days written by Heng Ou and published by Abrams. This book was released on 2016-04-26 with total page 431 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After labor, it’s time for rest: A gentle guide to zuo yuezi, the ancient Chinese practice of postpartum self-care, including sixty simple recipes. The first forty days after the birth of a child offer an essential and fleeting period of rest and recovery for the new mother. Based on Heng Ou’s own postpartum experience with zuo yuezi, a set period of “confinement” in which a woman remains at home focusing on healing and bonding with her baby, The First Forty Days revives the lost art of caring for the mother after birth. As modern mothers are pushed to prematurely “bounce back” after delivering their babies, and are often left alone to face the physical and emotional challenges of this new stage of their lives, the first forty days provide a lifeline—a source of connection, nourishment, and guidance. This book includes sixty simple recipes for healing soups, replenishing meals and snacks, and calming and lactation-boosting teas, all formulated to support the unique needs of the new mother. In addition to recipes, this warm and encouraging guide offers advice on arranging a system of help during the postpartum period, navigating relationship challenges, and honoring the significance of pregnancy and birth. Fully illustrated, it is a practical guide and inspirational read for all new mothers and mothers-to-be—the perfect ally during the first weeks with a new baby. “Bringing our attention back to the importance of the postpartum period for new mothers helps to create space for this essential period of integration and recovery . . . an invaluable companion during the first 40 days and beyond.” —Ricki Lake & Abby Epstein, filmmakers, The Business of Being Born

Book Synopsis We Live in a Simulation Created by God: Everything Is About the Golden Rule by : Tom Zuber
Download or read book We Live in a Simulation Created by God: Everything Is About the Golden Rule written by Tom Zuber and published by HonorThe SabbathLlc. This book was released on 2021-12-16 with total page 629 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "We Live in a Simulation Created by God: Everything Is About the Golden Rule" is one of a series of books that leverage prophecy and the notion that this Universe is a simulation to achieve a better understanding of Judeo-Christian-Islamic Scripture. This particular book attempts to dismantle the unearned notion that physics is inconsistent with Judeo-Christian-Islamic Scripture and monotheistic tenets of Hinduism and Buddhism like karma and reincarnation. More particularly, this book references things like the inability of any particle in the Universe to move faster than the speed of light, the fact that dark matter and dark energy don’t actually exist, and the illusory quality of quantum particles, as well as a little bit of biochemistry and some very basic math, to demonstrate that the data set comprised by the Universe is more consistent with the notion of humanity comprising AI perceiving through avatars within a simulation Programmed by Supreme Intellect than the notion of the accidental creation of the self-reflective living human machine by unguided natural selection alone. This book will also discuss some of the manmade commandments ultimately authored by the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church that have helped to divide the Religion of Abraham in opposing manmade religions, and led to the abandonment of many of the Commandments of our Creator memorialized by Moses and championed by both Jesus Christ and Muhammad, and to a widespread rejection of the Golden Rule, though the rule was taught by all three prophets.
