Book Synopsis Méthod(e)s by : Jean-Bernard Ouédraogo
Download or read book Méthod(e)s written by Jean-Bernard Ouédraogo and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2021-08-09 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The bilingual, French–English journal Méthod(e)s, founded in 2015, is an African initiative with the objective to enlarge the methodological debates on the Global South. The desire for a strong understanding of methodology is to situate it above academic trends, thereby placing it in line with a universal history of the sciences. Just as calling dominant paradigms into question leaves room for creative opportunities, so does the comparison of theoretical approaches and technical models of data collection. Questions related to methods are not purely technical or merely philosophical reflections. The examination of the method used in scientific investigations necessarily leads us to question the validity and consequences of research results. From this point of view, the journal Méthod(e)s is not a forum for simple discussions on the mechanics of research but a tool to question social interests influencing academic research and giving it a political function. It is also intended to lead to a more critical look at the creation of theories dealing with the status of individuals and societies in Africa and the Global South. Méthod(e)s aims to bring into question, connect, and compare the theoretical, technical, and political foundations of the social sciences as applied to human societies. Each contribution is followed by a summary in the respectively other language. In order to ensure a broad intellectual reach, the editors reserve the right to include articles written in other languages. All the abstracts of the papers are also available in Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish.
Book Synopsis Clés pour un monde meilleur by : Marshall B. Rosenberg
Download or read book Clés pour un monde meilleur written by Marshall B. Rosenberg and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 94 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Reflecting upon LivXD is to examine the whole experience of a target audience in a variety of situations – and not only in those involving digital technology. This book begins with the definition of LivXD and its associated epistemology, and proceeds to detail field experiments in certain privileged areas: the relation to creation and works, mediation and adult education.

Download or read book Engager l'anthropologie pour le développement et le changement social written by Sten Hagberg and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2013 with total page 281 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present APAD Bulletin contains a selection of papers presented at the APAD 2010 Conference in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on the theme "Engaging Anthropology for Development and Social Change: Practices, Discourses and Ethics." Anthropological engagements face important challenges at the interface of research and development. The different ways by which anthropologists take on societal problems - either in their research capacity, as development experts, as activists, or as citizen - are inscribed in a longstanding debate. In this APAD Bulletin, the contributors deal with the central questions of how and under which conditions anthropology engages with society. The papers range from epistemological reflections and methodological queries to the anthropology of per diem and of public health, as well as to practical problems confronting anthropologists engaged in development cooperation. [PLEASE NOTE: This volume's Introduction is in English text. The remaining text is French language text only. There is no English translation.] (Series: APAD Bulletin - Vol. 34)

Download or read book Réseaux socionumériques et médiations humaines : Le social est-il soluble dans le web ? written by ROJAS Estrella and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2013-10-01 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Dialogues structurés, dialogues structurants by : Marianne Mille Bojer
Download or read book Dialogues structurés, dialogues structurants written by Marianne Mille Bojer and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Accounting for Culture by : Caroline Andrew
Download or read book Accounting for Culture written by Caroline Andrew and published by University of Ottawa Press. This book was released on 2005-03-30 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many scholars, practitioners, and policy-makers in the cultural sector argue that Canadian cultural policy is at a crossroads: that the environment for cultural policy-making has evolved substantially and that traditional rationales for state intervention no longer apply. The concept of cultural citizenship is a relative newcomer to the cultural policy landscape, and offers a potentially compelling alternative rationale for government intervention in the cultural sector. Likewise, the articulation and use of cultural indicators and of governance concepts are also new arrivals, emerging as potentially powerful tools for policy and program development. Accounting for Culture is a unique collection of essays from leading Canadian and international scholars that critically examines cultural citizenship, cultural indicators, and governance in the context of evolving cultural practices and cultural policy-making. It will be of great interest to scholars of cultural policy, communications, cultural studies, and public administration alike.
Book Synopsis Youth, HIV/AIDS and Social Transformations in Africa by : Anthony Mwiturubani
Download or read book Youth, HIV/AIDS and Social Transformations in Africa written by Anthony Mwiturubani and published by African Books Collective. This book was released on 2009-10-15 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The five research reports that constitute this monograph are a fruit of the collaboration between the Council for the Development of Social Science Research in African (CODESRIA) and the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), two institutions with a longstanding interest in the study of youth and social transformations in Africa. Under the collaboration, 12 young African researchers were able to benefit from fellowships, workshops and the expertise of resource persons. The studies contribute significant empirical insights from five different countries (Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Cameroon) to ongoing debates on how youth and social processes in Africa shape, and are shaped, by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
