I was rather small for my age, and they could easily beat me in nearly all the trials Of skill and strength country boys delighted in - not quite all, however, for, much to my pride and satisfaction, I could hit the bull's eye chalked out on the big barn-door twice as Often as the best of them; and no small comfort did my skill in shoot ing give me.
