Book excerpt: The poet had been waking to fine experiences of his conscious being, whereby the transition area, between the subconscious and the conscious levels, opened up a garden of earthly and spiritual delights, as a designed stage upon a stage by one of his favourite Muses, he calls his 'A-Muse'. So, waking in love seemed to fit the description. Into this garden, he'd commute daily and would meet and communicate with artists of fame and also with talented contemporaries, while his Muses danced in a traditional sensual roundabout in and out of his room, high above the rooftops of Vienna,

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The poet wishes to thank all the women who met him in a virtual and real life, being good listeners and also outstanding friends, sharing their time and interests, especially in times of sorrow and when he suffered a severe depression after the death of his poetry-partner and teacher of literature, who considered him as a friend and equal partner sharing interests in literature, poetry, and the arts. The poet will thank them all for he'll publish his work, now as the ink has dried, and it reflects their mature relationship, be it virtual or in tactile reality, the precious times of happiness, when they saved him spiritually and physically, returning from the dark abyss of a mental breakdown and suicidal thoughts. These thanks include everybody, who had contact with the poet especially during the critical years of '04 and '05, when the poet had to return mentally and physically to the world of the living, so that he could process his emotional world into poetry and publish it to the interested reader. Perhaps some people may have had a similar experience with a soul-mate, love partner, twin flame, and a close friend. Viva all mature women!

Download or read book LOVE & ART written by Z J GALOS and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2024-09-19 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Love & Art, Volume Two, will continue with Songs of Passion and contain, following the theme of art in dialogue with lyric poetry, the 90 drawings plus one that have been composed together, some before the ballad's creation, some after it, as the total freedom of creativity has driven me. As we grew up with Storge, the love for our family, I have experienced during my life seven modes of love: Eros and Philos, which I have encountered most of the time, especially during my youth and the middle ages of maturity. Yet, the experience of the intensity of these modes of love came with my passion for the Fine Arts, when my teachers guided me along the road of tapping into the fount of ideas and fantasy, where the sources for my creativity lie. Compassionate love, I have only experienced when the tragedy of a terminated illness of a beloved Muse became apparent through her sparkling health of beauty vanishing as if an unseen force had turned down the dimmer switch of life and her suffering started with her physical disintegration. I felt pain and suffering with her and helped her the best I could to give selfless love and support. I have detected my notebooks with the right paper for writing and drawing with ink pens. A series of volumes exists in various notebooks. I endeavour to publish them in a sequence with my original creative activities to provide my readers with an inside view into those times of immense innermost conflicts, happiness, and pain accompanying love and inspire these artistic dialogues.

Book Synopsis Boethius’ Consolation of Philosophy as a Product of Late Antiquity by : Antonio Donato
Download or read book Boethius’ Consolation of Philosophy as a Product of Late Antiquity written by Antonio Donato and published by A&C Black. This book was released on 2013-09-12 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the last fifty years the field of Late Antiquity has advanced significantly. Today we have a picture of this period that is more precise and accurate than before. However, the study of one of the most significant texts of this age, Boethius' Consolation of Philosophy, has not benefited enough from these advances in scholarship. Antonio Donato aims to fill this gap by investigating how the study of the Consolation can profit from the knowledge of Boethius' cultural, political and social background that is available today. The book focuses on three topics: Boethius' social/political background, his notion of philosophy and its sources, and his understanding of the relation between Christianity and classical culture. These topics deal with issues that are of crucial importance for the exegesis of the Consolation. The study of Boethius' social/political background allows us to gain a better understanding of the identity of the character Boethius and to recognize his role in the Consolation. Examination of the possible sources of Boethius' notion of philosophy and of their influence on the Consolation offers valuable instruments to evaluate the role of the text's philosophical discussions and their relation to its literary features. Finally, the long-standing problem of the lack of overt Christian elements in the Consolation can be enlightened by considering how Boethius relies on a peculiar understanding of philosophy's goal and its relation to Christianity that was common among some of his predecessors and contemporaries.

Book Synopsis Postmodern Ethics, Emptiness, and Literature by : Jae-seong Lee
Download or read book Postmodern Ethics, Emptiness, and Literature written by Jae-seong Lee and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 2015-12-24 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study advances contemporary postmodern/poststructural critical theory, literary criticism in particular, with the help of Mahāyāna—especially Ch’an/Seon (Chinese and Korean Zen)—Buddhist thought. The quest for theinfinity of the Other (West) and Emptiness or the true I (East) contributes to the exploration of the contemporary critical issues of ethics and infinity. Such an approach will awaken our sense of unrepresented, genuine transcendence and immanence; The Buddhist Emptiness shows us the absolute Other illuminated on a vaster scale. The theory section explores and links Eastern and Western philosophies, switching between the two. While discussing in depth Hegel, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Derrida, Levinas, Lacan, Deleuze, and Nancy, this study gradually guides the reader from the contemporary Western thought on the Other and infinity to the Buddhist vision of Emptiness, the ultimate reality. To overcome the dualistic mode of thought inherent in tradition of Western metaphysics, this exploration follows the line that observes Nāgārjuna and the imprint of Ch’an teachings that are most prevalent in South Korean Buddhism. The last three chapters demonstrate a Levinasian and Seon Buddhist approach to the book of Job, part of the Judeo-Christian Bible, as being a more literary than religious text, and the excess of the Gothic mood in the two most distinguished and widely celebrated novels—Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. The three texts compel readers to confront the infinity of the absolute Other or Emptiness. The Grand Prize Winner of the 7th Wonhyo Academic Awards from the Korean Buddhism Promotion Foundation.
