Book Synopsis AGARD Standard Aeroelastic Configurations for Dynamic Response, I-Wing 445.6 by : Edward Carson Yates
Download or read book AGARD Standard Aeroelastic Configurations for Dynamic Response, I-Wing 445.6 written by Edward Carson Yates and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page 73 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report contains experimental flutter data for the AGARD 3D swept tapered standard configuration "Wing 445.6", along with related descriptive data of the model properties required for comparative flutter calculations. As part of a cooperative AGARD-SMP programme, guided by the Sub-Committee on Aeroelasticity, this standard configuration may serve as a common basis for comparison of calculated and measured aeroelastic behaviour. These comparisons will promote a better understanding of the assumptions, approximations and limitations underlying the various aerodynamic methods applied, thus pointing the way to futher improvements.
Book Synopsis Wingless Flight by : R. Dale Reed, Darlene Lister
Download or read book Wingless Flight written by R. Dale Reed, Darlene Lister and published by University Press of Kentucky. This book was released on with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Much has been written about the famous conflicts and battlegrounds of the East during the American Revolution. Perhaps less familiar, but equally important and exciting, was the war on the western frontier, where Ohio Valley settlers fought for the land they had claimed -- and for their very lives. George Rogers Clark stepped forward to organize the local militias into a united front that would defend the western frontier from Indian attacks. Clark was one of the few people who saw the importance of the West in the war effort as a whole, and he persuaded Virginia's government to lend support to his efforts. As a result Clark was able to cross the Ohio, saving that part of the frontier from further raids. Lowell Harrison captures the excitement of this vital part of American history while giving a complete view of George Rogers Clark's significant achievements. Lowell H. Harrison, is a professor emeritus of history at Western Kentucky University and is the author or co-author of numerous books, including Lincoln of Kentucky, A New History of Kentucky, and Kentucky's Governors."

Book Synopsis On the Formulation of the Aerodynamic Characteristics in Aircraft Dynamics by : Murray Tobak
Download or read book On the Formulation of the Aerodynamic Characteristics in Aircraft Dynamics written by Murray Tobak and published by . This book was released on 1976 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The theory of functionals is used to reformulate the notions of aerodynamic indicial functions and superposition. Integral forms for the aerodynamic response to arbitrary motions are derived that are free of dependence on a linearity assumption. Simplifications of the integral forms lead to practicable nonlinear generalizations of the linear superposition and the stability derivative formulations. Applied to arbitrary nonplanar motions, the generalization yields a form for the aerodynamic response that can be compounded of the contributions from a limited number of well-defined characteristic motions, in principle reproducible in the wind tunnel. Further generalizations that would enable the consideration of random fluctuations and multivalued aerodynamic responses are indicated.
Book Synopsis Reality by : Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange
Download or read book Reality written by Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange and published by . This book was released on 2016-08-26 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reginald Garrigou-Lagrange was one of the most prominent thomistic neoscholastic theologians of the early and mid-twentieth century. This volume is his attempt to summarize a philosophical and theological worldview by interpreting the teaching of St. Thomas Aquinas and his successors: Reality is seen in light of the central doctrines of the Trinity, of Creation, and of the Incarnation of the Son as Jesus Christ, in Whom humankind is drawn into the life of the Triune God. Garrigou-Lagrange presents 24 thomistic theses as a lens through which to view salvation, the Sacraments, the Mother of the Redeemer, and the spiritual life whereby the divine image is restored in the soul. This work is of interest to any who wish to enhance their understanding of the Catholic theological tradition through an acquaintance with this major and often controversial figure.

Book Synopsis The Use of Artificial Satellites for Geodesy by : Soren W. Henriksen
Download or read book The Use of Artificial Satellites for Geodesy written by Soren W. Henriksen and published by American Geophysical Union. This book was released on 1972 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Published by the American Geophysical Union as part of the Geophysical Monograph Series, Volume 15. This monograph contains 34 communications presented at the Third International Symposium on the Use of Artificial Satellites for Geodesy in 1971, and 4 invited papers on subjects that complement the others and provide continuity. All contributions represent the most recent findings in the theoretical and applied fields of satellite geodesy, including new instrumentation (satellite sensors and ground equipment) of potential use in satellite geodesy. The two preceding symposiums were held at Washington, D.C., in 1962 and at Athens, Greece, in 1965. The Proceedings of the first were published by North-Holland Publishing Company, Amsterdam, in 1963, and the Proceedings of the second by the National Technical University, Athens, in 1967. The prime mover behind both was George Veis, and his continuing dedication to this subject was in large measure responsible for scheduling this third symposium.
