Book excerpt: The asymmetry in the {bar p} angular distribution in the sequential decay {bar {Omega}} 2!{bar {Lambda}}K 2!{bar p}[pi]+K+ has been measured to be {bar [alpha]}{sub {Omega}}{bar [alpha]}{sub {Lambda}} = [+1.16±0.18(stat)±0.17(syst)]x10−2 using 1.89x106 unpolarized {bar {Omega}}+ decays recorded by the Hyper CP (E871) experiment at Fermilab. Using the known value of [alpha]{sub {Lambda}}, and assuming that {bar [alpha]}{sub {Lambda}} = -{alpha}{sub {Lambda}}, {bar {alpha}}{sub {Omega}} = [-1.81±0.28(stat)±0.26(syst)]x10−2. A comparison between this measurement of {bar {alpha}}{sub {Omega}}{bar {alpha}}{sub {Lambda}} and recent measurements of {alpha}{sub {Omega}}{alpha}{sub {Lambda}} made by HyperCP shows no evidence of a violation of CP symmetry.

Book excerpt: We measure the branching fraction of the exclusive charmless semileptonic decay B 2![omega]l[nu]{sub l}, where l is either an electron or a muon, with the charged B meson recoiling against a tag B meson decaying in the charmed semileptonic modes B 2!Dl[nu]{sub {ell}} or B 2!D*{ell}[nu]{sub {nu}}. The measurement is based on a dataset of 426.1 fb−1 of ee− collisions at a CM energy of 10.58 GeV recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric B Factory located at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. We also calculate the relevant B 2![omega] hadronic form factors to determine the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element.

Book excerpt: The authors report the observation of the bottom, doubly-strange baryon?{sub b}− through the decay chain?{sub b}− → J/??−, where J/? →??−,?− →?K−, and? → p?−, using 4.2 fb−1 of data from p{bar p} collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV, and recorded with the Collider Detector at Fermilab. A signal is observed whose probability of arising from a background fluctuation is 4.0 x 10−8, or 5.5 Gaussian standard deviations. The?{sub b}− mass is measured to be 6054.4 ± 6.8(stat.) ± 0.9(syst.) MeV/c2. The lifetime of the?{sub b}− baryon is measured to be 1.13{sub -0.40}{sup +0.53}(stat.) ± 0.02(syst.) ps. In addition, for the?{sub b}− baryon they measure a mass of 5790.9 ± 2.6(stat.) ± 0.8(syst.) MeV/c2 and a lifetime of 1.56{sub -0.25}{sup +0.27}(stat.) ± 0.02(syst.) ps.

This analysis is performed using a dataset of 230.7 fb{sup -1} collected by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B Factory at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The mass difference between the {Omega}*{sub c} and the {Omega}{sub c}{sup 0} baryons is measured to be 70.8 {+-} 1.0(stat) {+-} 1.1(syst) MeV/c{sup 2}. They also measure the ratio of inclusive production cross sections of {Omega}*{sub c} and {Omega}{sub c}{sup 0} in e{sup +}e{sup -} annihilation.

The invariant mass spectra are presented and the signal yields are extracted. Ratios of branching fractions are measured relative to the {Omega}{sub c}{sup 0} {yields} {Omega}{sup -}{pi}{sup +} mode {Beta}({Omega}{sub c}{sup 0} {yields} {Xi}{sup -} K{sup -}{pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup +})/{Beta}({Omega}{sub c}{sup 0} {yields} {Omega}{sup -}{pi}{sup +}) = 0.31 {+-} 0.15(stat.) {+-} 0.04(syst.), {Beta}({Omega}{sub c}{sup 0} {yields} {Omega}{sup -} {pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup +})/{Beta}({Omega}{sub c}{sup 0} {yields} {Omega}{sup -}{pi}{sup +})
