Book Synopsis Mathematical Methods by : Jacob Korevaar
Download or read book Mathematical Methods written by Jacob Korevaar and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-12 with total page 518 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mathematical Methods, Volume I: Linear Algebra, Normed Spaces, Distributions, Integration focuses on advanced mathematical tools used in applications and the basic concepts of algebra, normed spaces, integration, and distributions. The publication first offers information on algebraic theory of vector spaces and introduction to functional analysis. Discussions focus on linear transformations and functionals, rectangular matrices, systems of linear equations, eigenvalue problems, use of eigenvectors and generalized eigenvectors in the representation of linear operators, metric and normed vector spaces, and delta sequences and convergence and approximation. The text then examines the Lebesgue integral, including approximation of integrable functions and applications, integration of sequences and series, functions of bounded variation and the Stieltjes integral, and multiple integrals. Curves and integrals, holomorphic functions and integrals in the complex plane, and multiple integrals are also discussed. The book is a valuable reference for students in the physical sciences, mathematics students interested in applications, and mathematically oriented engineering students.
Book Synopsis Fundamentals of Advanced Mathematics V2 by : Henri Bourles
Download or read book Fundamentals of Advanced Mathematics V2 written by Henri Bourles and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2018-02-03 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The three volumes of this series of books, of which this is the second, put forward the mathematical elements that make up the foundations of a number of contemporary scientific methods: modern theory on systems, physics and engineering. Whereas the first volume focused on the formal conditions for systems of linear equations (in particular of linear differential equations) to have solutions, this book presents the approaches to finding solutions to polynomial equations and to systems of linear differential equations with varying coefficients. Fundamentals of Advanced Mathematics, Volume 2: Field Extensions, Topology and Topological Vector Spaces, Functional Spaces, and Sheaves begins with the classical Galois theory and the theory of transcendental field extensions. Next, the differential side of these theories is treated, including the differential Galois theory (Picard-Vessiot theory of systems of linear differential equations with time-varying coefficients) and differentially transcendental field extensions. The treatment of analysis includes topology (using both filters and nets), topological vector spaces (using the notion of disked space, which simplifies the theory of duality), and the radon measure (assuming that the usual theory of measure and integration is known). In addition, the theory of sheaves is developed with application to the theory of distributions and the theory of hyperfunctions (assuming that the usual theory of functions of the complex variable is known). This volume is the prerequisite to the study of linear systems with time-varying coefficients from the point-of-view of algebraic analysis and the algebraic theory of nonlinear systems. Present Galois Theory, transcendental field extensions, and Picard Includes sections on Vessiot theory, differentially transcendental field extensions, topology, topological vector spaces, Radon measure, differential calculus in Banach spaces, sheaves, distributions, hyperfunctions, algebraic analysis, and local analysis of systems of linear differential equations
Book Synopsis Real and Functional Analysis by : Vladimir I. Bogachev
Download or read book Real and Functional Analysis written by Vladimir I. Bogachev and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-02-25 with total page 586 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is based on lectures given at "Mekhmat", the Department of Mechanics and Mathematics at Moscow State University, one of the top mathematical departments worldwide, with a rich tradition of teaching functional analysis. Featuring an advanced course on real and functional analysis, the book presents not only core material traditionally included in university courses of different levels, but also a survey of the most important results of a more subtle nature, which cannot be considered basic but which are useful for applications. Further, it includes several hundred exercises of varying difficulty with tips and references. The book is intended for graduate and PhD students studying real and functional analysis as well as mathematicians and physicists whose research is related to functional analysis.

Book Synopsis Functional Analysis by : Erdogan Suhubi
Download or read book Functional Analysis written by Erdogan Suhubi and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2003-10-31 with total page 712 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Functional Analysis is primarily concerned with the structure of infinite dimensional vector spaces and the transformations, which are frequently called operators, between such spaces. The elements of these vector spaces are usually functions with certain properties, which map one set into another. Functional analysis became one of the success stories of mathematics in the 20th century, in the search for generality and unification.
