This resulted in him being banished from heaven along with one-third of the angels. Bring this event up to modern times and you have the story in this book. Dr. Allman, a gifted chemist and scientist and a righteous man, develops a serum that improves the mind and moral fiber of mankind and seeks to distribute it. He has a jealous employee named Lyle, who is a graduate of MIT, and also gifted in science. Lyle's goal is to overthrow Dr. Allman and take control of his laboratory in the World Trade Center during the 1970's. He accomplishes this by tainting the serum to cast a shadow of incompetence on Dr. Allman and his staff. His plan works and he becomes the President of Infinity Laboratories only to be fired when his diabolical plan is uncovered. Lyle and his ex-porn star wife sets about to start up their own lab and they join the Satanist Church. Fast-forward to 2001 when Lyle and Polly's world collapses on September 11. Next, go with Lyle through a literal hell and go with his nemesis, Emmanuel (Dr. Allman's son) in heaven. Be with them when they both are returned to earth for a final confrontation.
Download or read book Thomas and Mary written by Tim Parks and published by Random House. This book was released on 2016-02-11 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ‘Somehow it seemed to him the only thing that would really solve the problem would be to return to the sea and find the old ring with their names and the wedding date engraved inside, in 22-carat gold, and put it on again and then the world would magically return to what it had been before. Many years before. This did not happen.’ Thomas and Mary have been married for thirty years. They have two children, a dog, a house in the suburbs. But after years of drifting apart, things – finally – come to a head. In this love story in reverse, Tim Parks recounts what happens when youthful devotion has long given way to dog walking, separate bed times, and tensions over who left the fridge door open. Lurching from comedy to tragedy, via dependence, cold re-examination, tenderness and betrayal, Thomas and Mary is a fiercely intimate chronicle of a marriage – capturing the offshoots of pain sent through an entire family, when the couple at its heart decide it’s all over.

Download or read book Work and Play in Southern Indiana written by Daniel D. Scherschel and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2009-04 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WORK AND PLAY in southern Indiana" is the third in a series of my books. It is in the time of the 1970's and 1980's. In it is some things learned working construction and then at a foundry. Also are thoughts on three wheelers, rafting creeks and walking through train tunnels. My first book MAPLE GROVE, was of growing up on a dairy farm. My second book, MAPLE GROVE THE 60's, was of some things I learned during my teenage years. Wanting to save stories for my grandchildren, I bought a computer in 1990 and started compiling my hand written writings. I am just an average person with my average stories. People seem to enjoy relating to these average stories, remembering their version of life.
