Book Synopsis Cinétique et catalyse (2e ed.) by : Gérard Scacchi
Download or read book Cinétique et catalyse (2e ed.) written by Gérard Scacchi and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2011 with total page 713 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Catalysis by Metals by : Albert Jean Renouprez
Download or read book Catalysis by Metals written by Albert Jean Renouprez and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Catalytic reactions on metals are still nowadays involved in more than half of the chemical industrial processes. The winter school held at "I 'Ecole de in March 1996, 13 years after the first one, accounts Physique des Houches" for an evolution of the field in several directions. First, the emulation between theoretical chemistry and solid state physics has emerged on heuristic concepts, leading not only to explanations of the observed phenomena but, for the first time, to predictions of the reactivity of catalytic systems and of the reaction pathways. The second domain which during these years has become of primary importance is the abatement of the pollution. It concerns not only the conversion of polluting effluents but more and more major modifications of the processes to avoid the production of undesired products. Two striking examples are the necessary catalytic conversion of the 100 000 cubic meter of hydrogen that would be produced in a major incident of a nuclear power plant and the replacement of the CFC. The valorization of agricultural supplies can already be considered as one of the major achievement of catalysis. Indeed, the carbon of biosustainable raw materials represents more than 2 orders of magnitude the amount extracted from fossil fuels each year. Moreover, the molecules are already highly functionalised in contrast with hydrocarbons which require costly steps to be converted to the same products. They are now of current use in the elaboration of cosmetics, vitamins, polymers, etc.
Book Synopsis Past and Present in DeNOx Catalysis: From Molecular Modelling to Chemical Engineering by : Pascal Granger
Download or read book Past and Present in DeNOx Catalysis: From Molecular Modelling to Chemical Engineering written by Pascal Granger and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2007-12-15 with total page 419 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers an overview of the state of the art in the field of DeNOx catalysis in order to focus novel orientations, new technological developments, from laboratory to industrial scale. A particular attention has been paid towards the implementation of catalytic processes for minimising NOx emissions either from stationary or mobile sources under lean condition to meet future standard regulations of NOx emissions. In the first part of this book, critical aspects reported in the literature which usually make difficult the achievement of efficient catalytic technologies in those conditions are summarised and analysed in order two separate new perspectives. The second part deals with fundamental aspects at molecular level. A better understanding of the reactions involved under unsteady-state conditions is probably a pre-requisite step for improving the performances of the actual processes or developing original ones. The development of powerful in situ spectroscopic techniques is of fundamental interest for kinetic modelling. Correlations between spectroscopic and kinetic data with those obtained from theoretical calculations are reported. Some illustrations emphasise the fact that these comparisons may help in determining the nature of the catalytic active sites and building predictive tools for simulations under running conditions. The latter part of this book will be illustrated by different practical approaches covering various aspects related to the catalysts preparation and the development of alternative technologies which include industrial considerations.- New technological developments for investigating catalytic reactions in transient conditions (in situ and operando spectroscopic techniques)- Concerted approaches in DeNOx catalysis - How academic aspects (kinetic, in situ spectroscopic measurements) can provide useful information for practical applications- Comparison of different approaches provided by academic and industrial partners

This book was released on 2012-09-11 with total page 802 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
