Book excerpt: Kooshma’s Dabria was written as a spin off to the first two series Kooshma: The Origin and Kooshma: Reborn. The folklore surrounding Kooshma is a generational one, but no one created or painted the pictures quite like I did. As you read the story, you will see that anyone could be Dabria, and the battle between good and evil does exist. The same way Dabria terrorizes her adoptive family in this trilogy is the same way that when you think that everything’s ok bodies began to drop until somehow you can find a reasonable explanation if you survive.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I wrote this book when I was trying to find out what went wrong with our legal system, why no litigants trusted the judiciary anymore and why in the last twenty years no litigant-migrant is allowed to win any case in court mainly in the civil court. Many of the key ideas about things that I found puzzling were evolved in odds moments in the war between the judges and litigants or between the host society and persons with migrant backgrounds. In my early job, I travelled a lot to the war zones on fact findings where I talked to both sides of the warring parties. As a rep for the posting country, I had privilege to tapping on the reservoirs of information about almost everything. The army, the recruiting agents and the private contractors doing big business for the government. At home of the adopted country, things were getting worst. At some points, I become increasingly entangled in both ideas of secession and unity and in court the investigation has gone nowhere. I was told that if I join the group I will have access to certain information about the underworld who controls the outcomes of every case. The case is never settled or justiciable by the court despite tons of evidence by the deponents and admission of unlawful acts by the respondents. Other cases had come up during the years but Maga find the ways blocked and ended-up in huge bills. Joe, who is involved in litigation, offers to continue his aid when needed and he agrees to divide his time between this and other private work.

Book excerpt: Prior to the mid-sixties, Grayville, TN was one of twenty-four "sundown towns." A "sundown town" was a town that had a sign on the outskirts of town that said, "Negros are not allowed in the city limits after sundown." Very few blacks lived in Grayville. Grayville High School seldom had black students. In August of 2020, a black doctor moved to Grayville. He moved from Weston, Ohio to be near his adopting white parents who lived in the Homeland Retirement Center in Pleasant Hill. Grayville never had a black basketball player, now it has three. The doctor has three sons. Joseph is a 6' 9" senior and his twin brothers, Samuel and David both 6' 6" juniors. The three brothers took Weston to the Ohio State basketball championship. Cox County youth grew up to have a "culturally absorbed prejudice." That is what the three black players encountered.

Book excerpt: This book is about trauma, but it is not about therapy or individual correction and transformation. Instead, it is about the ways our small tribes of families, friends and colleagues can create wholesome environments and groups that understand the nature of trauma, and thoughtfully counteract the conditions that make harrowing experiences possible. After a discussion of the nature of traumatic events and the variety of human responses to it, the book explores how traumatic experience relies on chaos and the destruction of norms, and suggests ways we can build meaningful structure and rhythms. It proposes that a world of isolation can lose its effect when people make connections with others based on what is good and lovely and shared. It considers ways to practice discernment and critical thinking as a counterbalance to confusion and lies. Helplessness is a signature factor in traumatic experience, but is loses its power when a community identifies personal and social resources, and makes sure people have access to what they need. Grief, uncovered, can be shared. Life-affirming strength can be differentiated from domination and selfishness. Traumatic events that are layered by repetition of racism and ostracism can be seen and understood, and advocates can step forward. Release is possible, but only when we, as communities, create safe and wholesome places where each of us can be respected and valued. This book suggests many ways to understand these ideas, to practice them, and to question our assumptions about what is broken. It calls for us to stand for humanity, beginning with those we know.
