Book excerpt: Learn to Teach Children Gracie Jiu-Jitsu!! Students of Carlos Gracie, Jr, and Royce Gracie.....Larry Shealy and Charles Dos Anjos have developed a program that is taking Kid-Jitsu(r), a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Program for Children, to the many traditional Martial Arts Schools across the United States and Europe. Their trademarked "Kid-Jitsu(r)" program is a "teach the teacher" system for their Gracie Jiu-Jitsu curriculum. This series of books, along with the Kid-Jitsu DVD's, will allow Martial Arts Instructors from all styles to learn and teach children the fundamentals of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and receive their "Kid-Jitsu Instructor Certification" in the process. Quote from Actor and Martial Arts Expert Jason David Frank: I just want to provide this feedback on the KID-JITSU(r) Certification Program that I attended last weekend. All I can say is WOW! This Certification Program was one of the BEST, and I mean BEST, that I have ever taken. I was thoroughly impressed that Safety was the #1 Priority in this class, and how the Instructors require us to instruct our students with Safety as our #1 Goal. I have NEVER taken any Ground or BJJ Instruction before, and what Larry Shealy and Charles Dos Anjos showed me was GREAT!!! I could not give a higher recommendation for this INCREDIBLE program. My marital arts schools will benefit greatly from what I gained in this program. - Jason D. Frank, Multiple School Owner,

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A clear, straightforward explanation of the most important rules of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, specifically and specially written and illustrated for kids of all ages. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - The Rules of the Game is based on the IBJJF rule set only. This book does not attempt to describe every single detail of every single rule (there are far too many specific situations and nuances to describe here!). Rather, this book is meant to generate interest and enthusiasm in brazilian jiu jitsu competitors, and help kids (and their supportive friends and family members!) understand the most important rules and most important positions in a match. The material covered in this book is broken down into clear, simple sections and explained without any complex terminology, so that a person with no previous experience in the sport could read it and gain a basic understanding of how Brazilian Jiu Jitsu works. Color illustrations will accompany the text on most pages to help clarify the important concepts and position. The reading level of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu - The Rules of the Game is simple enough to be understood by kids of age 8+ when read on their own, and suitable for even younger children if read together with an older sibling or parent.

Book excerpt: This book was created as a way to organize BJJ Kids Cards, yet what you hold in your hands is much more than a way to store and organize the cards. Its purpose is to support you in your Jiu-Jitsu journey by passing on the foundations of "the gentle art." Knowing the history of the art and sport of BJJ is often overlooked, yet having this awareness helps you achieve another level of competence. It does not matter where you train (and how you do the moves can be slightly different - that's OK, this is why Jiu-Jitsu is fascinating and is evolving by the minute), because growing in this knowledge will hopefully inspire you to reach new heights and connect with others in your BJJ family. BJJ Kids Cards are sold separately in booster packs and contain detailed technical information and tips on the front of each card. On the back of every card there is a QR code which automatically links to the respective online lesson. Each pack can be used as a belt-level curriculum individually or in a Dojo. We hope this collection will keep you interested in learning and remembering the moves we are sharing with you. The more you learn, the closer to your black belt you are.

This book was released on 2019-07-20 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I selfishly wanted to get paid to work out and change lives as a validation. Along the way, I figured out it's better to create your own game than play someone else's game. That's all I did. I wrote the pretend game, gave it away for free and those that wanted to live that hero character in the game, they became the fight team members that flowed in during those school years. *After rising to the top of my dream of becoming a coach, I decided to retire and open a new chapter of my life. During one of our conversations while stretching at the end of class, I mentioned I used to teach and coach and we had many heart warming success stories. Xan motivated me to put my voice into a script. Friday Day Class Fights- Most often, Monday - Thursday, the fight training is cardio position drilling. We would work for 90 minutes after school drilling slowly and then drilling live positions with offense and defense according to the principles of drilling. The kids would drill over and over as Steve would drill with them at a competitive competition pace of a blue belt, which Steve was. They were almost getting private lessons from a Renzo Gracie Blue belt. The kids jumped their game training with Steve. They were anywhere from 6 to 8 kids Plus Steve, Plus myself as the "review coach." Steve would show the sequence of moves for points. It was their personal road map to compete with. If they had questions, they asked me and I began to write things down and had the reputation of a mad professor. It was rare if I ever stepped onto the mats in the beginning to train with the kids. Once in a while Steve would demonstrated a move on me so all the kids at the same time could see the move. Steve had an adult athletic body and we were in the same weight class. I got to feel what it's like to train in this art. So as a reward and to test their skills live, each Friday during the majority of the kids lunch or PE class with me, or cutting another class (and I write the teacher a note that student was participating in mandatory extra credit to pass my class,) we opened the big gym with mats to host "Friday Fights." It was on the downlow and only the cool girls who were friendly with the fighters and were recommended, would be allowed to manage the student body that was secretly invited with organized seating by approximate body weight and kept the gym quiet while BJJ boys took on all comers. There were some really bad kids that I empowered to be body guards. They had no intention to join the fight club, they just needed to be respected for their efforts and gave them a brief sense of community. This was the reason that I became a public high school teacher in a shitty school. In order to eat dessert, I had to eat the vegetables at my meal. That example is similar to teaching five classes a day, of which you probably really enjoy two of them and you live for the afterschool program. Once I figure that out, nothing bothered me. I used my Fridays gym class with the smallests attendance and most mature seniors that would go along with the fun and madness. I often explained to the kids that if you believe in something for the betterment of others, as long as you are not breaking the rules or causing harm, create new rules and go for it. BJJ guys and gals think differently, as if there is no box to hold your thoughts. We had weight classes. Kenny, Mario and Jose weighed 125 pounds and were the fighters. The rules are a takedown with 3 seconds control and its over. The fighters destroyed their weight class and everyone else up to Steve's weight class. All the big students with muscles who thought they were tough and could bench press more than anyone. On occasion, we let the match go further and the gangstas choking out all those big fat bitches who thought they were tough because they could bench press 150% of their body weight. It was now Steves turn and everyone knows he is the coach. He destroyed the first 3 guys and big man in the finals. New friends.
