Book Synopsis Vieillessement oxydant des polymères by : VERDU Jacques
Download or read book Vieillessement oxydant des polymères written by VERDU Jacques and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2012-04-16 with total page 402 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Optoelectronics of Molecules and Polymers by : André Moliton
Download or read book Optoelectronics of Molecules and Polymers written by André Moliton and published by Springer. This book was released on 2010-05-30 with total page 513 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optoelectronic devices are currently being developed at an extraordinary rate. Organic light-emitting diodes, photovoltaic devices and electro-optical modulators are pivotal to the future of displays, photosensors and solar cells, and communication technologies. This book details the theories underlying the mechanisms involved in the relevant organic materials and covers, at a basic level, how the organic components are made. The first part of the book introduces the fundamental theories used to describe ordered solids and goes onto detail on concepts applicable to localised energy levels. Then the methods used to determine energy levels particular to perfectly ordered molecular and macromolecular systems are discussed along with a detailed consideration of the effects of quasi-particles. The function of excitons and their transfer between two molecules is studied and, in addition, the problems associated with interfaces and charge injection into resistive media are presented. More technological aspects are covered in the second part, which details the actual methods used to fabricate devices based on organic materials, such as dry etching. The principal characterisation techniques are also highlighted. Specific attention is paid to visual displays using organic light-emitting diodes; the conversion of photons into electrical energy (the photovoltaic effect); and for communications and information technologies, the electro-optical modulation of signals.

Book Synopsis Introduction à la physique des polymères by : Serge Etienne
Download or read book Introduction à la physique des polymères written by Serge Etienne and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 312 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Polymer Crystallization by : Günter Reiter
Download or read book Polymer Crystallization written by Günter Reiter and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2003-05-06 with total page 403 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The classical view on polymer crystallization basically focused on the expla- tion of a few macroscopically observable parameters like the thickness of the resulting lamellar structure and the corresponding growth rates. However, the emerging paradigm for the description of chain crystals is too simple and cannot account for the complex non-equilibrium processes responsible for structure f- mation on various levels, ranging from the nanometer up to the millimeter scale. This complexity detected by several novel experimental results led to a renewed interest in this ”old” topic of polymer crystallization. These new ?ndings c- cern the early stages of the crystallization process, crystal formation in con?ned geometries like ultra-thin ?lms and the competition between (micro)phase s- aration and crystallization in copolymers and blends. In particular, high spatial resolution techniques such as atomic force microscopy provided deeper insight into the molecular organization of crystallizable polymers. Computer simu- tions based on microscopic processes were used to improve our understanding of how polymer crystals are nucleated and how they grow. New ideas emerged about possible multistage pathways which are followed during the formation of polymer lamellae. The importance and the consequences of the non-equilibrium character of polymer crystals got signi?cantly more attention. Links and ana- gies to growth phenomena and pattern formation in general are being developed. However, these ideas are still subject of intensive and controversial discussions.

Book Synopsis Polymer Physics: 25 Years Of The Edwards Model - Proceedings Of The Workshop by : Somendra Mohan Bhattacharjee
Download or read book Polymer Physics: 25 Years Of The Edwards Model - Proceedings Of The Workshop written by Somendra Mohan Bhattacharjee and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1992-03-04 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The proceedings of this workshop contains 5 important papers by S A Edwards on the Edwards Model and includes discussions on recent theoretical developments in polymer physics.A few decades ago, polymers were not considered part of conventional physics. However, the scenario changed drastically in the sixties and seventies with the introduction of path integral methods, fields theory in the n → limits, and renormalization group approach. A vital step in this progress is the path integral Hamiltonian that S F Edwards proposed in 1965-66 to study a single chain. This model now called the Edwards model, is considered to be the minimal model for polymers, and it has been phenomenal in unraveling the universal properties of polymers, be it a single chain or many, equilibrium or dynamics. It has now crossed the boundary of polymers and is finding applications through appropriate generalizations in many other problems.
