Book Synopsis Radio Frequency Radiation Dosimetry and Its Relationship to the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields by : B. Jon Klauenberg
Download or read book Radio Frequency Radiation Dosimetry and Its Relationship to the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields written by B. Jon Klauenberg and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 577 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has sponsored research supporting development of personnel safety standards for exposure to Radio Frequency Radiation (RFR) for over a quarter century. NATO previously recognized that one of the most important tools used in the RFR effects research laboratory is accurate dosimetry when it supported a NATO Advanced Studies Institute (ASI) on Advances in Biological Effects and Dosimetry of Low Energy Electromagnetic Fields held in 1981, in Erice, Sicily. That meeting resulted in a NATO ASI publication; Biological Effects and Dosimetry of l Non-ionizing Radiation: Radiofrequency and Microwave Energies . The most recent NATO sponsored program on RFR was an Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) on "Developing a New Standardization Agreement (STANAG) for Radio frequency Radiation" held May 1993, at the Pratica di Mare Italian Air Force Base, Pomezia (Rome) Italy. That ARW produced an ASI proceedings, published in 1995: Radio frequency Radiation Standards, Biological Effects, Dosimetry, Epidemiology, and Public Health Policy2. The Rome ARW and the Proceedings served as a springboard to the much needed revision of the NATO Standardization Agreement (STANAG) 2345 MED "Evaluation and Control of Personnel Exposure to Radio Frequency Fields - 3 kHz to 300 GHz,,3, which was subsequently promulgated in October 1998. One of the published recommendations developed by the Rome ARW was to hold this second ARW focusing on dosimetry and measurements.
Book Synopsis Research Topics in Electromagnetic Wave Theory by : Jin Au Kong
Download or read book Research Topics in Electromagnetic Wave Theory written by Jin Au Kong and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1981-04-23 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reviews diverse current applications of electromagnetic wave theory, particularly those of interest in aerospace and defense research. Uses the topic of random media to model the ionosphere and the earth terrain with applications to pulse distortion and microwave remote sensing. Studies inhomogeneous plasmas and magnetized ferrites for the propagation, reflection, and transmission of electromagnetic waves with a variational formulism and a coordinate invariant method, and from the point of view of linear mode conversion. Treats result sensing based on microwave radiometer for earth terrain and line-of-sight method for atmosphere parameters. Examines the interaction of electromagnetic fields with biological bodies. In the antenna field, coverage encompasses the topics of broadband antenna arrays, dipole radiation in stratified media, insulated linear antennas, and offset fuel reflector antennas.
Book Synopsis Bioengineering and Biophysical Aspects of Electromagnetic Fields by : Ben Greenebaum
Download or read book Bioengineering and Biophysical Aspects of Electromagnetic Fields written by Ben Greenebaum and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 482 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bioengineering and Biophysical Aspects of Electromagnetic Fields primarily contains discussions on the physics, engineering, and chemical aspects of electromagnetic (EM) fields at both the molecular level and larger scales, and investigates their interactions with biological systems. The first volume of the bestselling and newly updated Handbook of Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields, Third Edition, this book adds material describing recent theoretical developments, as well as new data on material properties and interactions with weak and strong static magnetic fields. Newly separated and expanded chapters describe the external and internal electromagnetic environments of organisms and recent developments in the use of RF fields for imaging. Bioengineering and Biophysical Aspects of Electromagnetic Fields provides an accessible overview of the current understanding on the scientific underpinnings of these interactions, as well as a partial introduction to experiments on the interactions themselves.
