Book excerpt: Women have a special place in God’s plan and in his heart. They are uniquely made and have many jobs as mothers, teachers, counselors, nurses, chefs, and chauffeurs in addition to business owners, supervisors, technical whizzes, and hard-working employees. Then the world turned upside-down in 2020. The pandemic caused women to modify their lifestyles and tackle new responsibilities while trying to keep some semblance of normalcy within their families. It wasn’t easy. These unprecedented struggles were overwhelming and caused many women to feel alone, depressed, frustrated, hopeless, and just plain tired. Can you relate? Are you one of those women who feels like you are drowning and maybe even invisible to God? Have you forgotten what his peace feels like? Maybe you have never felt his presence. In God’s Fruit Salad, author Diana Kinser offers a contemporary look at the fruit of the Spirit for women in all areas and walks of life. She is a battle-worn grandmother who has been in the fire of life many times, including battling Covid in ICU on a breathing machine. Kinser wants you to know that even when life seems dark and hopeless, God is still there. She knows the sweetest fruit in a Christian’s life comes from the deepest pain. With wisdom and love only a grandmother can give, she gently encourages women to see their value in every situation.

Book excerpt: The goal of this book is to introduce Gods Spiritual Fruit to children. In the process, it seemed like a good way to share knowledge about a selection of tropical fruit through art form. Most of the fruit was new to me, before I lived in The Virgin Islands for a few years. I hope children will learn about spiritual fruit-the Godly characteristics that are combined into one fruit, Gods fruit. The tropical fruit they will be presented on the pages are not to be connected to the Godly attributes given. My prayer is that we adults teach children as we demonstrate the nature of God in our daily walk of being fruitful. According to the New Living Translation of scripture, when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, He will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. I hope this book will encourage children to apply the attributes found here and also see how good the fruit of God is. Included on the pages are some tropical fruit that you may have never noticed in your local grocery store. Perhaps you have seen the fruit but never tasted it. This was my situation, until I lived in the Caribbean for a while. I learned that tropical fruit is closer to the equator and sunshine therefore; tropical fruit is more potent with vitamins. I did not realize what I was missing until I tasted the unfamiliar fruit. Hopefully, you will search for the different fruit in your local grocery or local cultural food store, or while you visit a Caribbean Island. Enjoy.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The central thesis of this book is that Western culture, and American culture in particular, needs an immediate change with regard to food and eating. Western over-indulgence is exacerbated by hunger and deprivation in the world. Learning to think theologically, and not just medically or psychologically, about one's eating habits will lead to positive personal and communal changes. In Food and God, Joel Soza offers readers a deeper understanding of Christian faith, one that will help them learn to think of eating as not merely a physical act, but as a spiritual exercise. Readers will become more aware of world need and preference for others while also learning how to improve their own health, control their own weight, and develop greater spiritual awareness and sensitivity in the daily and routine activity of eating. This book evaluates both Old and New Testaments, as well as some theology in the history of the Church, to arrive at an understanding of how one should think about food and eating in relationship to God and the world. The reader will learn of the key role food plays in the biblical creation and temptation narratives. They will learn of the enormous labor that went into food preparation in the ancient world, and what sages have had to say about food indulgence throughout time and many cultures. Finally, readers will encounter Jesus's invitation to think about food in spiritual ways, gaining an understanding as to what it means that Christianity is a movement with table fellowship at the forefront of its faith expression.

Book excerpt: Growing God’s Fruit teaches children about the growing cycle of apples from seed to harvest and relates the apple growing cycle to the growing cycles of the Fruit of the Spirit. Children will understand that their words, thoughts, and actions are the seeds they plant and if they plant seeds of love, they will harvest love. If they plant seeds of anger, they will grow anger. If they plant seeds of kindness, they will receive kindness in return. Children will be inspired to think about what they are planting and what they are harvesting in return. Bonus activities to reinforce these messages are included.

Book excerpt: The Food of Gods is Jasmuheen's 18th book on metaphysical matters and her third book in the Divine Nutrition series. It is not necessary to have read the previous books on this subject which cover her personal journey and the solution for world health and world hunger issues as "The Foods of Gods" takes the pranic nourishment discussion to another level and offers simple yet powerful tools to satiate all of our hungers. Jasmuheen writes: The most important difference with our focus with Divine Nutrition is that It has the ability to feed us on all levels and that we can still benefit from increasing Its flow through our bio-system even if we continue to choose to enjoy eating. Allowing this Divinely Nutritional stream to be increased in our system means that we can be fed emotionally, mentally and spiritually and as such the techniques and guidelines shared in this book, will benefit us all by freeing us from our current personal and global emotional, mental and spiritual states of anorexia.

Book excerpt: Indian vegetarian cookery can be considered be the most varied, attractive and healthful of all vegetarian diets.. There is no scarcity of books on Indian cooking in English, but few deal exclusively with vegetarian foods, particularly from southern India. Within India, there is no lack of books on regional cookeries in regional languages but there are few reasonable English translations of them, and they deal almost exclusively with variety and taste, not with values such as nutrition. This book attempts to cover these aspects, and by doing so, offer a definitive work on the subject. Apart from the recipes, there is much that is new to open up the rich world of south Indian vegetarian cooking, including the origin, culture and ethos of the cuisine to help its real understanding. There are full descriptions of all the recipes' components - grains, vegetables, herbs and spices. Every fact has been meticulously researched, and the recipes gone through with appropriate chefs as needed.

This book was released on 2021-01-01 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What happens when science tampers with nature? A riveting, cautionary tale with disastrous results reveals the chilling answer. Hoping to create a new growth agent for food with beneficial uses to mankind, two scientists find that the spread of the material is uncontrollable. Giant chickens, rats, and insects run amok, and children given the food stuffs experience incredible growth--and serious illnesses. Over the years, people who have eaten these specially treated foods find themselves unable to fit into a society where ignorance and hypocrisy rule. These "giants," with their extraordinary mental powers, find themselves shut away from an older, more traditional society. Intolerance and hatred increase as the line of distinction between ordinary people and giants is drawn across communities and families. One of H. G. Wells' lesser-known works, The Food of the Gods has been retold many times in many forms since it was first published in 1904. The gripping, newly relevant tale combines fast-paced entertainment with social commentary as it considers the ethics involved in genetic engineering.
