Genaue Zahlen wird es vermutlich niemals geben, denn sexueller Kindesmissbrauch ist von Geheimhaltung geprägt. Außerdem besteht bei diesem Thema auch immer das Problem, dass einigen Kindern oft nicht geglaubt wird. Dabei sollte man, wenn ein Kind Andeutungen auf einen sexuellen Missbrauch macht, auch diesen Hilfeschrei ernst nehmen, dem Kind Glauben schenken und diesem Verdacht nachgehen. Dieser Appell ist vor allem auf die Mütter gerichtet, denn die sind meistens der nichtmissbrauchende Elternteil, also der, der für den Schutz des Kindes verantwortlich ist. Und der, der das Geschehen bzw. die Anzeichen oder Andeutungen normalerweise als erstes mitbekommen müsste. Wenn der sexuelle Missbrauch des Kindes außerhalb der Familie stattfindet und der Täter für die Familie fremd ist, kann das Kind am ehesten Unterstützung von seiner Familie erhoffen. Da wird meistens nicht lange überlegt, was man machen soll: Der Täter wird zur Rechenschaft gezogen, so wie es das Gesetz vorsieht. Die Familie ist entsetzt, wütend, empört und verabscheut den Täter. Sobald der Bekanntheitsgrad vom Täter höher wird und die Konsequenzen für die Familie auch ansteigen, sinkt der Grad der Unterstützung, die sich das Kind erhoffen kann. Der schwierigste Fall für die Familie bzw. Mutter tritt ein, wenn der sexuelle Kindesmissbrauch innerhalb der Familie stattfindet (vgl. Braecker; Wirtz-Weinrich, 1994, S.36ff.). In meiner Hausarbeit werde ich genau diese Thematik behandeln. Denn genau die Frage „Wie reagiert die Mutter bei innerfamiliären sexuellem Kindesmissbrauch?“ ist in dieser Thematik vor allem für das Kind von zentraler Bedeutung. Bevor ich mich aber mit diesem Hauptteil meiner Hausarbeit und dem anschließenden Fazit beschäftigen werde, wird die Frage der Definition von sexuellem Missbrauch geklärt.

Wichtig ist, daß die Schuld niemals die Kinder trifft. Die Verantwortung liegt ganz alleine bei denjenigen, die jemanden sexuell mißbrauchen. Zum größten Teil geht sexueller Mißbrauch von Männern aus. Am schwersten ist es, eine Grenze zwischen sexuellem Mißbrauch und liebevoller Zuneigung zu ziehen. Sexuellen Mißbrauch kann man an der Intention des Täters festmachen. Allerdings ist diese oft nur schwer zu erkennen.
