This book was released on 2011-06 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, Volume 2, Set 2 of the AIWGMB, is a continuation of a three-set series of stories and illustrations representing all of the 7-letter words captured by The Central Twenty-One Five-Letter Stems that feed into the Central Seven Six-Letter Stems of Volume 1, Set 1. Knowledge and flash, photographic-memory recall of these word lists, together with those of the Auxiliary Seven Six-Letter Stems of Volume 1, Set 2 can be valuable assets for any wannabe, top contender in our rapidly growing, competitive, word-game, social networks. The wordlists, organized in Mentafile(TM) format, are coded with peg-words assigned to each letter of the alphabet. This type of iconic coding-organization can make letter-management, and identification of 7-letter words within scrambled arrays, effortless, almost as though one has an app that automatically brings bonus-words to mind as one plays off letters "on-the-way" to one of the Central Seven Six-Letter Stems. For example, in a board game, where letters must be unscrambled to reveal hidden words, one might hold, in alphagram order, the following seven letters; ADNRSTU. For those accomplished with Vol. 2, Set 2 of the AIWGMB, the identification of the five-letter stem, RNAST, and the letter, D, within ADNRSTU, would be instantaneous, along with the mental search for the story and illustration of "She STRANDS the drunk on a TUNDRA'S plain." Alternatively, one might hold ADNRSST, which would immediately bring up the word STRANDS from that story. STANDER, the only other possibility for a 7-letter RNASTD word would show up with the holding of ADENRST, the only bonus word featured in the drunk file of RNEAST, one of the Central Seven Six-Letter Stems of Vol. 1, Set 1. Therefore, with no E, R or S in the hand, one skilled in the use of The AIWGMB would know, with valuable certainty, that no 7-letter bonus words were available for play. But the fun's not over. It really begins when we add to our search the thirty four, 8-letter RNASTD words of RNAST, RNEAST and INRAST. Having learned to "read" alphagrams from the flashcards connected to the stories and Illustrations of this series, we now watch our opponents shrink in terror as we unleash our knowledge and skill at finding and playing one of these 8-letter winners!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Have you ever played the addictive card game SET? Have you ever wondered about the connections between games and mathematics? . . . The Joy of SET takes readers on a fascinating journey into this seemingly simple card game and reveals its surprisingly deep and diverse mathematical dimensions. Absolutely no mathematical background is necessary to enjoy this book - all you need is a sense of curiosity and adventure. Originally invented in 1974 by Marsha Falco and officially released in 1991, SET has gained a widespread, loyal following. SET's eighty-one cards consist of one, two, or three symbols of different shapes (diamond, oval, squiggle), shadings (solid, striped, open), and colors (green, purple, red). In order to win, players must identify 'sets' of three cards for which each characteristic is the same - or different - on all the cards. SET's strategic and unique design opens connections to a plethora of mathematical disciplines, including geometry, modular arithmetic, combinatorics, probability, linear algebra, and computer simulations. The Joy of SET looks at these areas as well as avenues for further mathematical exploration. As the authors show, the relationship between SET and mathematics runs in both directions - playing this game has generated new mathematics, and the math has led to new questions about the game itself."--Provided by publisher.

Book excerpt: In this study, we offer a hypersoft set theory-based game model for handling uncertainties. The term “hypersoft game” refers to this newly suggested game. Four techniques of game solution are identified: hypersoft saddle points, hypersoft upper and lower values, hypersoft dominated strategy and hypersoft nash equilibrium. We build a two-person hypersoft game first. Additionally, we present real-world problems that the hypersoft saddle point approaches and hypersoft dominating strategy are used to tackle. In conclusion, we expand the hypersoft games from two players to n players.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The leading players and outstanding matches of two thrilling decades in tennis history From Rod Laver’s amateur Grand Slam in 1962 to the first US Open held at the National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, legendary sportswriter Herbert Warren Wind captures the grace and drama of modern tennis in this brilliant collection drawn from the pages of the New Yorker. The era’s biggest names, including Margaret Court, Chris Evert, John Newcombe, Arthur Ashe, and Pancho Gonzales, thrill the crowds of Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and Forest Hills, and America’s Davis Cup team battles patriotic linesmen and frenzied fans in an epic showdown against the Romanians in Bucharest. In “Mrs. King versus Mr. Riggs,” Wind paints a witty and evocative portrait of Billy Jean King’s historic beatdown of Bobby Riggs, and in “Forest Hills and the Final Between Connors and Borg,” he vividly recounts one of the wildest and woolliest tournaments in the sport’s history. Rendered with the same authority and eloquence that led the New York Times to declare Wind the dean of American golf writers, these dispatches from center court testify to the celebrated journalist’s passion and versatility.

This book was released on 2013-11-12 with total page 444 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The focus of this book is on establishing theories and methods of both decision and game analysis in management using intuitionistic fuzzy sets. It proposes a series of innovative theories, models and methods such as the representation theorem and extension principle of intuitionistic fuzzy sets, ranking methods of intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, non-linear and linear programming methods for intuitionistic fuzzy multi-attribute decision making and (interval-valued) intuitionistic fuzzy matrix games. These theories and methods form the theory system of intuitionistic fuzzy decision making and games, which is not only remarkably different from those of the traditional, Bayes and/or fuzzy decision theory but can also provide an effective and efficient tool for solving complex management problems. Since there is a certain degree of inherent hesitancy in real-life management, which cannot always be described by the traditional mathematical methods and/or fuzzy set theory, this book offers an effective approach to using the intuitionistic fuzzy set expressed with membership and non-membership functions. This book is addressed to all those involved in theoretical research and practical applications from a variety of fields/disciplines: decision science, game theory, management science, fuzzy sets, operational research, applied mathematics, systems engineering, industrial engineering, economics, etc.
